  1. I'm at the game tonight. If you live somewhere where you'll be watching the game broadcast on Maple Leafs TV, or CBC, both love the Leafs equally, you'll likely not see my banner, otherwise, look for a big ole banner that either says 40 more years! or If Toronto Wins, We Riot!
  2. I'm at the game against Toronto on sat. I'm hoping that the Bell Center staff won't get upset if I drape a banner over the upper bowl railing that says If Toronto Wins, We Riot!. I am so damn frustrated with Price, what does his heart beat at, like 6 beats per minute. It's crazy watching him, he just moves so little.
  3. Well tonight he introduced the players in a mix of english and french. He also scored and had an assist. So suck that Guy Bertrand.
  4. Yeah, it's sorta dumb that this was made into an issue on TSN and Sportsnet, but in Montreal there's sort of a heirarchy of how the media works. In the Papers it's the Gazette all the way, they're like any other paper, not perfect, has its biases but is an all around decent paper. Then there is the largest french paper, Le Joural De Montreal. Which could be compared to any of the Sun publications except french and makes an effort to single out non-french players as shit and french players as god. They've been running with a story like Carbo is saying Kovalev is on the way out for Tanguay for a year now. They just make shit up. On the Radio for the english its CJAD, a wonderfully respected news station in our area, the french have 940 which is basically the french equivalent. Any news that is reported in the french papers concerning language issues, sports and politics are about as truthful or important as something that you'd find in the National Enquirer, but I understand that outside medias see this as a great story of the city rejecting Koivu once again Below, editorial written by Pat Hickey of the Gazette, notice the fine character of this lousy lawyer.
  5. Clawson, I don't understand your comment... we've played one poor game recently... maybe 3 all season, and that would include the Ottawa game which was pretty damn exciting.
  6. I believe it was because Montreal was totally out played in the first 25-30 Minutes and Price bailed out the team which mustered something like 8 shots through 30 minutes... I gotta say, Kovalchuk is a beast, he's just so damn fast and good. In trying to be objectionable as possible, I think Price was forced to make more big time saves than Hedberg was. Outside the last 10 minutes of the game when Montreal cranked up the Pressure, the Atlanta D made it so that almost all the Habs shots were perimeter shots.
  7. Awww, Montreal played a decent game, but Atlanta just played like they wanted to win from start to finish. We get the bitch point, but it's still not good enough. Price was spectacular, but the second goal he gave up, even though it was on a breakaway, it just looked weak.
  8. I think I might have mis-heard, it's more of he's in a contract year and Montreal has Price, Halak and Danis, one of whom has proven to be a great goalie, one is expected to be and one is a great back up, so it's more of a Huet out in a trade.
  9. Montreal and Atlanta tonight. There's strong rumors going around that Huet is going to be traded as he's apparently expressed the desire to quit hockey after the season, I don't know how much truth there is to that. Price gets the start again, hopefully we don't blow it against one of the worst teams in the league.
  10. For all you know they could bounce back with an 8-2 win next game...
  11. Well then again we only let one in, in the third period... We also still won the game.
  12. Wow, Montreal pushed around Pittsburgh like they were children for exactly 20:49. After they pulled Fleury, Pittsburgh woke up and Montreal stopped playing it was brutal. Thank god we still won in the shootout, we pulled a T.O. and dropped a 3 goal lead, but still, 4 in a row is good. Also, Crosby pulled one of his dives again, and I was trying to figure this penalty out. So Kovalev cross checks Malkin and gets 2, but when he hits Malkin, Crosby jumps on Kovalev and starts going after him, Kovalev doesn't so much as fight back, but the two of them get a roughing penalty, while we still won, that penalty turned the tide of the game.
  13. I was looking at the Northeast Standings today, and I really wish that the bitch point didn't exist, Ottawa could care less right now, but while yes it is only 10 games into the season, I'm sure Boston doesn't appreciate that a 5-4 Montreal team and a 4-7 Toronto team are tied and one point behind the 6-3 Bruins.
  14. Montreal wins their third straight 7-4. Montreal scores 5 in the first and 5 powerplay goals.
  15. Well at least Toronto wasn't the team blowing the lead last night.
  16. Psha, I wanna see the Dodgers get to the series, that way they can trot out Koufax..,
  17. Plubby, it was a 6-1 game where our 4th line made a very very pretty passing play on a 2 on 1 for a goal. You gotta believe that it's DOMINATION! Montreal takes it to Boston tonight. Wow. I was really surprised that Boston outshot Montreal 32-20 because Montreal just kept the pressure and the physical play up all night. Grabovsky got his first NHL goal which was really cool for him. Huet made some incredible saves when he needed too and it was an overall schalacking. If any of you are able to get a replay of Markov's goal, tell me that, that isn't an awesome play. The Bruins try to clear it around the boards, Streit intercepts with a beauty pass between his legs to Koivu, he feeds a backhand pass to Markov who winds up, fakes the shot, steps around a defender, comes real close to the net and snipes it in top shelf over Fernandez's shoulder.
  18. Montreal gets their first win at home finally 4-2 over the Sabres. Pretty exciting game. Roy is an incredible stickhandler with incredible speed, I'd love to have him on my team. Wow. Brilliant player.

  20. The Isles and the Blackhawks have always been two teams that I just can't help but cheer for. Montreal will look for their first home victory tonight as they take on the 3-3-0 Sabres tonight. Kovalev who has never had a good relationship with the media or coaches in Montreal is probably very surprised this morning. After the loss to the Panthers, he basically said that he felt that Montreal should have taken a time out in the last minute to get the best players for the PK out on the ice for the 6 on 4. Carbo said that he felt that Kovalev should speak to the coaches about what he feels rather than spout off to the media. The Media... well the French Media jumped all over Kovalev for it. The Gazette was actually objective for once and just more or less reported the facts. This morning, front page of the sports section is all praise for Kovalev for saying what he(and just about eveyone else) thinks was the right thing to do. They're saying that it takes some amount of balls to just up and say it. Now whether anyone agrees or not. He is so far having a good season this year and if anything needs to change, it's Carbo. I like his style of play on the ice, but I hate how every game he juggles the lines.
  21. I heard that last nights game was a good tilt. Ottawa finished their chances more than Montreal did, but from what I heard it was an exciting game to watch. Too bad we lost... again.
  22. Ridiculous. Montreal dominates for 58 minutes, loses essentially with 10 seconds left.
