Montreal wins convincingly... Ryder puts 2 in... that's 3 in his last 3 games now. He and Higgins had 3 points each playing against the top line from Tampa. The Lightning showed some fight making it a 3-3 game, but the whole team has seemed to suddenly bought into the team game we've been playing the last 4 games. 7 of 8 points in that stretch... it's not much, but it's a start. If they can keep up this kind of play, they'll be none of this 8th place sweeps against 6 other teams nonsense, we'll sit high and mighty in the top 5... hopefullly. I got tickets to the Ovechkin show comming to town tomorrow afternoon, should be fun. -

Montreal's back home tonight... where we're tied for fewest wins in the league. The last three games we've played outstandingly well. The only rough patch was straying from the game plan in the third against the Rangers. If we can continue to play like we did in the last 3, it shouldn't be exceedingly hard to dismantle Tampa again. -

Yeah, but the league got big time coverage for this and it went down to a tremendously exciting form to finish, and then the icing on the cake (for the league, not myself) was Crosby scoring the shootout winner. -

Gah, tough break for the Habs. I'm not so overly upset about the loss when I put things into perspective. Montreal took 8 of 12 points on this 6 game road trip... not spectacular, but respectable, when considering how terribly we've fared in the last 2 or 3 years during this stretch of time, it's incredible. We played without Koivu and with only 11 forwards. Corey Locke was called up to play, but his equipment never arrived and we were only able to dress 19 skaters. Kovalev... just wow, he wore the C last night, and he played like that meant something to him. I have never seen him play such an amazing game, he was so strong offensively, he was amazing defesively, he led the fucking team... which is more than Koivu's done this year. Kovy's line had 8 points last night... not bad. Montreal played the same way they have in the last 2 games. A bad faceoff loss to Drury late in the game provided the tying goal and Hamrlik who played an otherwise stellar game had a terrible giveaway to Shanny in OT. Such is hockey. two bad mistakes shun the fact that we held the Rangers to only 1 second period shot. The fact is, right now, Montreal looks like they're gelling... and I like that idea. A great game by the Habs... big shame we lost but we went 3-1-2 on this trip for 8 of 12 points... I'll take it. P.S. The brothers Kostitsyn... watch out for them. Amazing. -

Comming from such a hardcore Leafer who often times substitutes reality for a more Leafs friendly version of it... I am pleased. -

Shit, 40 saves, but about half the shots were from the perimeter. I'm surprised as to how bad Vokoun crapped the bed tonight, 4 goals on 9 shots.... then again, Montreal had a lot of pretty sweet chances tonight. I'm really digging S. Kostitsyn, he's pretty talented. And Higgins, Lapierre, Ryder has gotten goals in the last two games. I like Carbo's new lines. -

Yeah, Huet need to learn that the player is eventually going to shoot the puck and maybe he should move appropriately. -

Bah! There's no winning against any combination of Kozlov, Kovalchuk and Hossa in a shootout. -

Ok, I'm not going to lie, tickets aren't going to be cheap. I'm trying to keep them in the 60-80 range, but It's looking more like 80-100 will be a bargain right now. Also, I'm only so far able to find 4 tickets together at a time... I've managed to find 10 within 1 row of each other 414 C and D. I think this is what I might go with... The first 4 tickets are going to be 100 each, the next 2 are going to be 105 and the last 4 are going to be 120. Let me know if this works for you guys. As far as hotel and lodging is concerned, it depends on where you want to stay and how many you are and what your budget is going to be. I can then find something for you and get you all the info you'll need. -

Montreal just didn't do very well the other night... I don't even know what it was, they played decent, no worse than Florida, but the third goal by the Panthers was a weak goal. Boo on Price, because we came back to make it 3-2 and I think if they hadn't put the third in, we mighta been able to make it 2-2 with a little more than the 23 seconds left haha. ATTN GOOD PEOPLE OF THE EWB HOCKEY THREAD! February 7th, 2008. The Habs and Leafs will be playing at the Bell Center. I've been talking to Toe about this, and there are an awful lot of Leafs and Habs fans on the board. I figure, why not some of us meet in Montreal which is a fantastic city on its own, and go to the Bell Center for the game. I proposed Montreal because the tickets are way cheaper than in Toronto, I understand finding scalpers or tix online is easier and cheaper, plus the Bell is a better building than the ACC for atmosphere(there's going to be about 8000 Leafers there so you won't feel too out of place if you like Toronto), and there's going to be 21,273 lunatic hockey fans as opposed to 20,000 mostly business types in the arena. Montreal is also a relatively cheap city, if you bus from Toronto its 10 bucks each way, it's got a great nightlife and yeah. I think that it would be a great time. If you're interested, please mention it, and gimmie a PM or something. If you're serious about it, I can start organizing getting some tickets. -

I was so dang confused with the goal, because he threw it towards little tits, but it just pinballed for a second or so and went in the net. It was like a huh.... GOALLLL!!! Florida tonight, hopefully we can get another win. I just lost 31 hours of my time so I'm hoping for a really good game. -

Fair enough. But 3 fluke goals is a little harsh. They all came from dominating the play and just throwing the puck on net. -

I'm just saying, the game was exciting and all. And I'm not trying to knock the Leafs, I'm just saying that Montreal seriously played far tighter a game, had a slew more chances even if they were being outshot and save for one or two good posessions by Toronto(both in the first). Montreal seemed to control the play of the game quite easily.
