  1. I didn't see the game, but penalties or not, giving up 4 pp goals, sounds like the goalie had an off night. A team of that calibre should have a goalie that can give them a chance to win every night regardless of if the team shows up or not.
  2. The Habs Bruins game was amazing. The atmosphere was insane, beyond there being thousands of people outside the Bell Center from about 5pm when they had a police escort for a moving truck from the Old Forum to the Bell Center presumably bringing in the Ghosts of the Old Forum, to the game where the crowd was bloodthirsty to post game where thousands were in the street outside the Bell Center singing, chanting, partying, dancing it was incredible. All in all an amazing experience.
  3. Game 1 tickets secured. Oh man am I fucking excited.
  4. I gotta get behind SDM's logic. Plus the only famous Jew in sports and possibly the greatest pitcher since 1950 was a Dodger for life. (L) Koufax.
  5. Haha, I love Price. A reporter asked if he was excited about helping the Habs clinch their first conference title in 19 years(Price went 10-3 since the Huet trade). Price looked at the reporter and went; Well they don't hang Conference titles from the rafters in this building.
  6. Mmm, I'm loving the taste of the East... Montreal and Boston, Well, Montreal won the season series 8-0 and are on an 11-0 run, oh also, they've met 30 times in the playoffs, Montreal's won 23 of those series, the last one they lost was like in 71? Pittsburgh and Ottawa... I don't particularly want to face either team. In any case it gets rid of a team that Montreal would probably go 6 or 7 games against. Washington and Philly... If Philly wins it's awesome, if Washington wins, it's one step closer to a Huet/Price playoff battle. Jersey and Rangers... Well, we're notoriously bad against both teams. Going 3-1 against the Devils aside they're tough to beat and besides the single largest comeback in the 99 year history of the Canadiens coming at the expense of the Rangers in February, they beat us pretty sore every other game this year. Either way it gets rid of a team we usually suck against. Predictions? Montreal def. Boston Pittsburgh def. Ottawa Washington def. Philly New York def. New Jersey Montreal def. New York Washington def. Pittsburgh Montreal def. Washington. Ok... ok, The Rangers would likely take us in 5 games, but I gotta love the Habs. EDIT Also, McCabe... yeah, classy you little prick. He shoves you, a nudge, something that happens constantly in the game, even out of the play *gasp* and you two handed slash him then spear him in the gut twice?! It's too bad the league isn't going to review it, not that there's any games they can suspend him for. At least Stewart, who by the way was playing in his first NHL game, at least he didn't back down. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_y2L_uECYYg that's what I'm talking about... and when the CBC of all networks is talking trash about the actions of a Leaf, you know it was a shitty thing to do. Great leadership from him and Tucker... I wonder why the Leafs couldn't find themselves this year.
  7. Habs officially finish the season #1 in the East. It'll be Habs vs Bruins in the first round. Go us!
  8. Puckcast I am totally down for. So... um, last night Montreal played another solid game. I've never seen the city erupt like that after a game though. Like 2 thirds of the Bell Center spilled out onto Ste. Catherines street afterwards and partied till like 3am. Honestly, the streets were blocked full of people, singing, ole'ing, beating up Leafs fans, it was insane.
  9. Dear Toronto, Can you please roll over for us on Saturday so we may have a shot at capturing the #1 spot in the East. Thank you.
  10. Sorry, but go Ottawa. I don't want to play them in the first round. No sir. Woo! The kids get it done again. Goddamn, Price has won 6 in a row and Montreal just dominated another game. Too bad Buffalo got that late goal or Price would have 2 shutouts in a row. Smolinski pots 2 and puts up a massive effort. For a team missing Komisarek, Koivu, Bouillon and Ryder... they're not half bad.
  11. No... I can't think of any lyrics haha. Although, I believe the video for it, is essentially a lot of pin up girls...
  12. Montreal needs to win their next two games, or win one and lose one in overtime. If they do that and the Pens lose Sunday afternoon, the Habs will be the #1 team in the East. So I'm headed to the game on Saturday against the Leafs. And what I found out is that working for sports broadcasters means that I'm going to be going to as many playoff games as I want to watch em from the press box... I am tres excite.
  13. Ok, so I've got the tune of a song stuck in my head for close to like 2 months now. Honestly, the only way I can describe it, is that it alternates from a sort of bouncy bass to a hard guitar driven sound. That and at some point, there's someone going ba da ba da ba ba ba which... I know doesn't help... I think I might have heard it in a commercial. All I can say is for the love of god, if anyone knows what I'm talking about, help me not go insane.. Thank you, Basha
  14. I liked Glaus, but he was so friggin inconsistent, Rolen to me was a steal and a half. Is BJ Ryan back?
  15. Clawson I disagree. O'Byrne is like 9 inches taller than the guy he hit. There was no elbow, but there was contact with his head, which while wrong, is still not a penalty. He essentially got the 5 and the game for being too big and too strong on the play.
  16. Montreal played a flat game again last night, but then again we were missing the league leader in blocked shots and a force on our blue like in Komisarek. Koivu was out, Streit was out, O'Byrne was kicked out early on, on a bullshit elbowing call, Bouillon left the game and the two players who came in to replace Koivu and Streit have been watching from the pressbox for almost what like a month... In any case, Stralman's second was a beauty.
  17. Apparently Montreal is gunning for a MLS expansion franchise.
  18. If Montreal wins and Ottawa fails to beat Boston, Montreal clinches the division. Halak should be starting in nets and hopefully the momentum from last night will carry over to Toronto.
  19. Montreal rallies from down 3-1 in the last 5 minutes to win 4-3 in Ot
  20. So if Toronto wins tonight but loses to Montreal on saturday that would eliminate them?
  21. So it's Buffalo friday, Toronto saturday, Ottawa tues, then Buffalo and Toronto again. We need to beat Ottawa again. and we'll probably take 3 of 4 aganst Toronto and split with Buffalo. If we could beat Ottawa again that would give us 7 more points out of a possible 10 that remain. Not unrealistic with the way Montreal's played lately. We'd have a nice round total of 103 points to end the season.
