  1. I started listening to Cults and didn't know it was the same people who did Serial Killers - and my god, it's like listening to two robots talk to each other. And they could really just leave off the bit at the start where the guy introduces his partner and says "Now, she isn't a psychologist but she HAS done a lot of research" because it just sounds so hokey. They lead into ads and other thing sounding like first day high school drama students and advertise another podcast that does audio reenactments of moments from real crimes that sound just as bad.
  2. I noticed it when sneaking into a very huge, palatial area. I was able to just stick to the rooftops and get in and out without being seen (albeit being careful of soldier on the wall, where they should be) although they were kinda downplayed in Syndicate too but it was hard to notice when - despite how good Syndicate was - it still felt so similar to other Assassin's Creed games.
  3. So yeah, Origins is pretty fucking sweet - feels like an entirely different game due to some of the new mechanics. I'm especially a fan of doing things like removing rooftop guards that are in areas 'just because' and letting it feels a lot looser. The combat is actually fun this time around once you get a hang on it, the world is gorgeous and fun to explore and Bayek is actually a pretty good character.

We've gotten insanely good at kicking out at the tiny slivers in the pinfall mini-game. If you want to get a lot of practice, play some Last Man Standing matches - you get that for every count, it's how I taught my girlfriend the timing. What's the difference when it comes to kicking out in the regular green vs. the sliver of brighter green at the end? I figured it would maybe make your character get up faster but that doesn't seem to be the case - maybe it just gives more of a boost to your meter?
  5. Yes! Playing a randomizer game is awesome and the tool to create them is so well done - you don't have to worry about unbeatable opponents and situations... if you don't want to.
  6. For better or for worse depending on how you feel about it - Xenoblade is the first thing I've played in a long time that has felt like a Gamecube/PS2 era RPG and I kind of love that fact at the moment. Without knowing too much about it I ended up scratching two itches I've had recently - playing an RPG that doesn't have a conversation tree to navigate or choose between and my want to play an MMO recently since combat and side quest structure along with the wide open areas really feels like one at times. I'm really liking it and I'm into Chapter Three now. Mildly annoyed by some of the standard JRPG/anime tropes but at the very least they seem to be aware of them and flip them on their heads more than a few times.
  7. I just looked up this movie pass thing and holy fuck, how the hell is that a sustainable business?
  8. In regards to the staff position thing, especially Production - yeah, having a bunch of workers in that section is very counter productive especially if you're going to play as the WWE. And ESPECIALLY if the members there are unsackable. All you need is a single production worker and if you have a ton in there it just averages them I believe, so if there are multiples who are unsackable (not sure of the status with this update) - you are ham-strung right from the beginning. Keep absolute accuracy to Wikipedia or other areas, but these vague job descriptions that impact the game in specific ways should be handled different. Good job!
  9. I juuuuuuust got into Giant Bomb after watching one of their best ofs - decided to go ahead and do a month of premium on their service so I could download and watch some of their long play series - just trying to grab all of Metal Gear Scanlon right now.

Very cunning on the part of Becky.
  11. Damn, those kids helped out doubly since that article links to the GoFundMe for the kid's medical bills.
  12. From what I gathered you don't really need to know too much about the previous games - which is a good thing because I won't be picking up a Wii or 3DS to play them anyways, I like it so far but it's a slow start. Which I guess you can expect from a minimum 70 hour experience with deep systems.
  13. They're about generic as it comes to that style of game. They're actually the perfect example of a game that would've been fun to play at the time but nothing to look twice years ahead.
  14. The Witcher works is very true to the mythologies of the creatures inside. It makes for a dark fantasy world.
  15. There was probably a less violent way to go about getting those.
  16. The day I stopped enjoying the original Tomb Raider games was the day I realized I was just walking into animal's homes and shooting them to get at the shinies.

It's interesting because I find it damn near impossible to reverse anything that she does because she's trying to figure out the controls and doesn't time things the same as what I would expect from someone else who knows the controls or the AI.

Just had a 30 minute back and forth match with my girlfriend playing as The Miz versus her as AJ Styles - we've been playing through the Universe mode together and it's been crazy fun just watching the matches come up and choosing who to play as, etc.

I was really, really tempted by the 3 on 3 mode this year. I hope it stays in next time around.
  20. Wait, do we run out of ads or something? I play for an hour or more most evenings and I never seem to run out.

I just found out that Universe mode alters their stats based off their place in the Power Rankings. That's a pretty cool touch. And explains why I have a 100 Overall version of Braun.

Loading and download CAWs has been pretty instant this year at the very least. I haven't had an issue yet.

Oh my my my. I think I'll be doing exactly this then. By the way, Aleister Black is as fun to play as you would expect.
