Roxanne is one of those "heard it a million times, don't care about it anymore" and I don't really think it was all that great in the first place. Another Girl, Another Planet is something I first heard as a cover on the Blink-182 Greatest Hits album. I like both versions equally, the Blink version has a lot of good energy to it.

I'm excited for this and the future of GamePass at this point. Especially if games are going to pop up in price this generation, that is going to put them over 100 Canadian and that's a big no-no at this point.

I've been watching on YouTube as they've been chronologically releasing them there - except they skipped the all winners season.

So uh - now that I've steamrolled through it... I feel like I can say this. Paper Mario and the Origami King has some god damn brutally sad story beats.

I think they're promoting a big jump in first party stuff as well.

That was awesome, yeah! And I've chuckled at pretty much every Toad rescue in one way or another - they're either hidden super clever or say some insane shit - like the Toad who you had to pull out of the ground like the four others around him - only instead of his head showing it was his hand, to which he declared; "They were the most scared of me, so they buried me the deepest." I also like small touches like;

Alrighty - so I'm one (well technically two) bosses in to the new Paper Mario and into the second area and I just wanna say... Even if this game played every battle for me and the rest of my time was spent just running around, exploring the world, finding the MASSIVE number of hidden Toads and other collectibles... I would still think it was one of the best games of the year. It's so hilarious and creative, I'm just loving it! And at the same time, the battle system isn't... actually all that bad. It builds you up really well, and it does indeed provide you with accessories to make things easier on you. Without trying to sound cheesy, doing battles DOES provide experience in a sense because the more that you do the easier that they get. (And also if the time limit on battles is annoying you, if you press the hint button to get something like "I dunno man, try an item" you can see the whole screen AND the timer pauses so... that's a thing).

Well it looks like a bunch of dudes sat around a decided to make money off very real things that female streamers have to deal with in general, while claiming that it’s meant to be empowering - which from the tone of the trailer really sounds like a load of BS. It’s probably the worst time to monetize what looks like literal physical attacks on a woman and for sure consistent sexual harassment.

I continue to be happy that bardcore is a thing.

There's a fair bit of reading to understand what you need to do in order to push the game forward, but a lot of it is pretty straightforward and there isn't really a way to play the game "wrong" per say. At the start of the game, some of the features are locked behind needing to sell 'X' amount of things or build a certain structure. The first person who makes the island becomes the island representative and they're the one who is going to push most of that forward. Anyone else who uses their account on the island can contribute to that but they're limited in a sense as to what they're able to do. Once you reach a certain point it's pretty much all about making your own goals, etc. If they aren't into collecting every bug, fish and fossil, participating in all the events and moving stuff around on the island it could get pretty aimless most likely.

No problem! I'm still on the fence kinda - mostly because I'm still spending anytime that I pick up my Switch on Animal Crossing.

It's a good thing to know going in - the Polygon reviewer talked about one shot at a boss battle talking 20-30 minutes per try.

For anyone interested in the new Paper Mario, y'all should have a look at this video to see if the battle system is going to work for you. Most reviewers agree the game is fun and charming - but some are frustrated by this and others love it. It's more of a puzzle than a traditional battle.

Marcus Parks of the Last Podcast network started a new podcast around the beginning of the year with his wife Carolina Hidalgo (Move Sign with The Mads) on music history, and the insane amount of prep and research that he does for the Last Podcast on the Left really shines through on it - and you can tell how passionate he is on the subject. Carolina is amazing too and the two of them really compliment each other. It's called No Dogs In Space and so far they've done episodes on: The Stooges Suicide The Damned Sid and Nancy The Ramones The Misfits The Slits They're all multiple part episodes, sometimes going up to four (except for Sid and Nancy). Don't Stop Me Now and Death On Two Legs are perennially tied for my favorite Queen song - and both alone do enough to make up for the amount of times I had to hear We Are The Champions and We Will Rock You growing up and playing sports.

At this point the Ouya is going to be a bigger footnote in history, because at least that is more enjoyable to make fun of.
