Checked out the new DLC today and once again I'm impressed! Cactus Jack doesn't just look like a Mick Foley 2022 model with Cactus Jack clothes on and much like Umaga, he has a properly fitting moveset and animations! Vader looks great as well and has his "IT'S TIME, IT'S TIME, IT'S VADER TIME" theme this time around.
  2. Ohhh that's a tough call! Not only that it's in the car but that it's for two. One thing that I've played since I was a kid is Sequence - and they have a pretty good looking travel version of that! https://www.amazon.ca/Sequence-Travel-Tin-by-Jax/dp/B07PZ9QKDC/ref=sr_1_11?crid=2TUS6FOX7AQ3C&keywords=travel+board+game&qid=1652908178&sprefix=travel+board+gam%2Caps%2C132&sr=8-11 It's 10 dollars Canadian which likely means it's two pennies and a stick of gum in the States, although I couldn't actively find it on the American site. The game tin just uses pegs and a deck of cards... it's kinda Connect 4-y since that's still your goal but I like it as a pass-the-time game a lot more. Most of my smaller footprint games need to have something laid out... got me thinking about this a lot, haha.

There's a new pack coming out tomorrow adding in; Cactus Jack The Boogeyman Vader Ilja Dragunov Indi Hartwell
  4. I'm still haunted by the fact that I tried to play that game perfectly, missed ONE thing in each character story and ended up getting the worst ending for every single character.
  5. This thread title greatly worried me before I finished reading it.
  6. Yeah - same here essentially. Bethesda games, I've played and enjoyed pretty much all of them, it's a new setting for them, it has my interest.
  7. It's already been said outright that you shouldn't expect a GM or Universe mode, they want people to play their mobile game for that. There will be a career mode but there's no hint as to whether it's branching or if it's more in line with what the Impact Wrestling game was... which I see as possibly the more likely scenario.
  8. Since Omega is so heavily involved in this, it would probably behoove them to stay away from social media interactions entirely.
  9. I am prepared for this to have even less content than they are kind of alluding here to. It's fine - I'll likely end up purchasing it anyways just to support AEW and the idea of having more games like this somewhere down the line, but if the reports about friction between the companies are in any way true as well, I'm guessing that Kenny and the other people involved deeply in this are having a harsh lesson in vision vs. ability to execute. Everyone wants to talk about No Mercy, but that was multiple games deep into an engine that had some pretty revolutionary features for its time. They're starting from the base here and I can't help but feel like features that wrestling games NEVER got right (and I have high doubts they ever will) like online play could've taken a bit of a backseat.
  10. That is the only football game I ever owned other than this one on the SNES;

    Local multiplayer only sadly.
  12. Yeah if you go back and watch that, you can tell that she's hung across the rope for that move.
  13. They go on sale for relatively decent prices - but they go onto the EA Play service at fairly predictable intervals. Though, NHL 21 went in there April 12th last year so I was kind of expecting NHL 22 to land by now...

Even though the interactions are there for most wrestlers of that size - Yokozuna's effortless push away at the start of the match whenever you try to grapple him, the Banzai drop, the running hip attack into the corner of a downed opponent - it's all pretty spot on.

Got a chance to check out the new DLC pack today - having a properly sized and proportioned Yokozuna (although, still a bit giving) in one of these games hasn't happened for years. Managed to do a triple threat between Yoko, Rikishi and Umaga and they all look really spot on.

Damn, not bad at all. Hopefully this keeps up - and if they're trying to keep the license, I assume it will. They usually release patches right up until the last bit of DLC drops and then the game is the game.

I've been sticking to the submission wins when I can, but you can also hit the SELECT button on your controller (it'll always be that button to me, I can't be assed to learn what each controller calls it now) to control your partner and try and intercept in the situations that allow it. The only thing that sucks is trying to figure out how to time it so the referee doesn't stop you from coming in, etc. I just realized we're 8 days away from the first DLC pack as well that adds; Yokozuna Umaga Rikishi Omos Kacy Catanzaro... or err... Katana Chance?
  18. All of my biggest titles for the year (that I know about, at least) already dropped in the way of Elden Ring and Lego Star Wars - but at the very least we have Starfield scheduled for November and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 for... sometime in the fall, but I wouldn't be shocked if either or both of them are pushed back.

    Elden Ring

After a particular boss fight (the second great Rune you normally would receive on a standard playthrough) - the boss stays around and you can give them an item to respec - so you can do it a limited number of times, but it's possible to get one of those items in the first area of the game if you know where to look.
  20. So as it turns out, they actually come with a really comprehensive launcher that houses all the games (even though they install as sets individually) and each entry has a direct link to the manual, cluebook, etc. and also pre-installed automapping additions and the like
  21. All of the series that they put out in that set worth picking up? Cost isn't really an issue, and although it'd be nice that the neat launcher that they put out with this edition had everything connected to it - if there are some that are just impossible to work through, I'm not sure if I'd bother. A lot of different styles I'm seeing from screenshots - from first person dungeon crawling to stuff that looks like Ultima (which is a series that I grew up spending some time on, I didn't hear about the Gold Box stuff until it landed on GOG years back).
