Woo! I managed to finish The Stand and while the last 3/4 of the book dragged a bit before the ending I really loved it!

Inspired by New Legacy I decided to grab this on sale and do a completely random brand split, with women being assigned to both shows. Actually a really good book.

I'm just over halfway through The Stand now and I can't get enough - it slowed down a bit but I sped through that section last night and I'm ready for more. The whole weight of the situation and everything that needs to be resolved is actually stressing me out in a way because there is so much to come together and I really want to see how it does.

So is it cheating to supplement with an audio book? I'm really interested in The Stand but I don't get enough time to sit down and read it, but I have lots of time at work where I need something to listen to.

I love stuff like this.

My aunt and uncle started on it and were loving where it was going, but when it switches over to the steveadore storyline - it takes a while for that to build up into a payoff and while I liked that myself, the entire change in cast and perceived tone can be something to get past. I told them to push on through and when they hit the end of the season and went into season 3 they were back fully on board.

For me, The Wire has always had more to do with season 2 for people that I talk with.

I don't support their crap anymore either - they're coasting and they know they're coasting. Even as much as a year ago a Final Fantasy XII remaster would've been a huge deal to me but now it's just 'oh, another one huh?'

Holy fucking shit. This game is painful - it could be fun, the mechanics are ten times better than they were before... but HURR HURR HACKING RIGHT is painful in this damn thing, with forced mentions to other stuff and just.. ack.

Fire off a message to their team and see if you can get it un-linked that way. I switch between the two quite a bit, but ultimately I think that Spotify really beats out GPM in terms of usability. There's just one thing that really bothers me and that is how Google Play Music allows you to edit the music tags. It really bugs me that Spotify puts up whatever they're sent in terms of tagging data and refuses to change any mistakes. Sometimes albums got uploaded with producers next to the band name, sometimes you have an ugly (Remastered) line next to the album title or others you have songs mislabeled ('You Told The Drunks I Knew Karate' is 'You Told The Drunls I Knew Karate' which makes Last.fm integration pointless). I love the generated playlists and the community aspect of it.

I don't really see the 'not unique' nature of Moana.

I'm wary about putting my attention on two books at once but at the rate that I get to read a number of things that might become unavoidable with The Stand.

Oh there is absolutely no way I plan on doing the full thing. I'm going to follow the expanded reading list: Without doing the Eyes of the Dragon at the suggestion of a friend of mine who noted how hard it is to find and that it's not really all that worth tracking down. I plan to go down the road over the better part of the year.

So I finished it as my fourth book and honestly I sped through the last part. Hell House is also on the list and I'll be getting to it within the year, but for now I'm moving on to The Stand so I can properly get to The Dark Tower series. It's going to be interesting because for sure it's going to be my longest read yet - but I'm so far ahead that I think I can at least give it a shot. I don't really have much else to say about Hill House... the concept of the house itself was great but the characters in it... eh.

I would always watch SBTB before school for a pretty big period of time growing up in the mid-90s I think. I probably saw the whole series that way.
