The art style for Mario and the kingdom in that game is pretty top notch as well. Pretty cool that Nintendo is breaking out of its shell to work more closely with other developers like this - it's a good sign.

All they have to do is avoid the 'put one really fucking bad element into the game' mandate that always seems to come down with Spiderman games and they'll be fine. Overly stupid that it's an exclusive though.

Ahahaha nope. Life Is Strange was structurally an okay game, but Chloe was annoying as all hell and a lot of the other writing was "hello fellow children"-ish as well - so I was really hoping that they were just going to branch off into an entirely different story and make the series anthology-ish.

I think The Crew made its money and reputation on the backend of what they did afterwards to it. They're pretty good at turning their games into services.

The Crew 2 looks pretty awesome - I still love the first one, I never even made it to 50% of the map it feels like.

Microsoft announced that the 'Better Together Update' is coming and it's going to allow crossplay between Xbox, Switch, PC and iPad versions first. That's pretty awesome.

Bethesda conference told me more than the EA one did really - aside from a few things we already knew everything that EA was putting out, the stuff that Bethesda announced was at least news.

So woah, Wonder Woman was super good. Part way through the movie I was kind of down on anything that didn' directly involve Diana - but that was mostly cleared up by the way that the story wrapped it up, mostly concerns over how weak and eh the main villain was and even though in the end it still wasn't as great as I figured it could be in that regard, I figure it's the best that you could do with a WW1 storyline. Any minor gripes that I have with some story elements that just seemed to be thrown around haphazardly are vastly overshadowed by the rest of it.

After just a first listen I'm pretty into the new Los Campesinos! but then again it's not like it's a huge departure.

I'm just going to go into Nintendo's conference expecting absolutely nothing - the way that the community is right now, no matter what happens, I don't think anyone is going to be happy about what comes out of it so I'm just going to expect them literally standing there on stage doing nothing at all for 30 minutes and go from there.

Funhaus are doing a drinking game again this year. Which is going to be interesting considering at least three of them were blackout drunk during last years.

Oh absolutely. Since we didn't get to touch on single player I dunno about that mode, but fighting against someone else is going to be pretty fun regardless of age or experience levels.

I played the Test Punch and it was actually quite fun - so I'm totally on board. Once I stop being so god damn broke, haha.

I don't really see how the gym system encompasses Pokemon at all - they were gateway checks, nothing more and nothing less and the system in Aloha served that purpose ten times better by not tossing 'this is the ___ type gym' in your face with the same tired, drawn out formula time after time.

This was the first one that I enjoyed and really finished in ages - freeing me from the same old damn gym system was the best move in my mind.

There was a Pokemon specific Nintendo Direct today that confirmed Ultra Moon & Ultra Sun for the 3DS along with eShop versions of Gold and Silver. The Switch will also be getting a deluxe version of Pokken Tournament.
