  1. I guess I'm the lone pusher for "All The Love In the World". Kick ass album, probably my favorite of the year so far. Actually when you think of it, we've had a couple of really kick ass rock albums thus far with The Mars Volta and NIN.
  2. Ah, well I guess I was looking for the $.
  3. John Derringer kicks ass. Q107 I dig, but I'd agree with EBG, Edge > * for Toronto radio.
  4. Hmm, I could have sworn I heard "The $treet" in the screener version. Maybe they fixed it for the televised version.
  5. For those of you who are interested, all these comments come from his blog: http://newsaskew.com/blog/
  6. Jays win in dramatic fashion. Too bad an awesome Chacin start goes to waste as the boys wait till the twelfth to wake up.
  7. I'm in the minority (possibly just me) who thought American Dad was better than Family Guy, but both shows rocked. Not trying to nitpick too much, but The $treet technically didn't belong in the list at the top of the show, as it was cancelled well before Family Guy. Great ratings news though, Family Guy got a 6.3 (an awesome 5.7 in adults 18-49), while American Dad drew a 5.3 (4.6 in adults 18-49). The Simpsons two episodes drew 6.0 and 6.7, although both episodes were substiantially beaten in adults 18-49 (5.1, 5.6). Looks like Family Guy might be back for good.
  8. That was one of the best episodes of "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" I've ever seen. I'm sure that with anyone else hosting that Amanda Peet segment it would have been tedious, but Conan pushed forward and it was hilarious. All the segments were funny, his monologue was on point and the Gene Wilder interview was really touching.
  9. Hehehe... April 30, 1:05 pm - David Bush (0-3) vs. Chien-Ming Wang (0-0) It's double entendre fest 2005!
  10. 1: "TOOOOOOOOOOOOOFFFFEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!" 2: "I found you in a basket in the woods when I was 4 and convinced my parents to raise you c'mon!" Canadians should know those without my actually identifying the commercials.
  11. The album is lame. The first 2 tracks or so are good, and beyond that it goes to hell. I think part of it is that it's hard to listen to a pubescent Scooby-Doo rap for longer than 5 minutes or so without getting tired of hearing it. It's better than Results May Very, but still disappointing considering the single was good.
  12. 1. The Real Tuesday Weld - Bathtime in Clerkenwell 2. NIN - All The Love In the World 3. Weezer - My Best Friend 4. Dizzee Rascal - Stand Up Tall 5. K-Os - The Love Song 6. NIN - The Hand That Feeds 7. Beck - Black Tambourine 8. DJ Format (ft. MC Abdominal) - Ugly Brother 9. Sam Roberts - On the Run 10. Limp Bizkit - The Truth
  13. I enjoyed this new album, but to be honest I preferred his previous two albums. To me a lot of this seems like he's putting on airs, trying to fit in to the mainstream rap fold all the while talking about how he doesn't fit in. Best tracks IMO are "Here He Comes", "I Wish I Made That/Swagga", "Switch" and "Lost & Found".
  14. I've yet to see an episode of "Firefly", but now having caught up on "Angel" and 3 seasons into "Buffy", I was already very hopeful about this movie. Now having seen the trailer I'm absolutely elated. It's got the "can't suck" quality the Garden State trailer had.
  15. I guess the Toronto bits must have sucked, because I remember they happed taped the Q & A's in our city for the DVD as well. Of course I'm looking forward to it because the first one rocked, but I hope there's enough funny material to cover. EDIT: I'm guessing the T.O. parts are included, because I hear plenty of questions speaking in distinctly non-British speech.
  16. Either Miguel Batista loves tense finishes or he has the best fucking luck in baseball history. He put runners on the corners with 2 away defending a one run lead in the bottom of the 9th today, only to get Ramon Vazquez to pop up to Vernon Wells for the save. 4-3 win today; more good stuff from Hinske, Wells and Hillenbrand, and good to see Corey Koskie's bat come alive.
  17. Jays lose 6-5 today, but plenty of good came out of it. For the first time we really saw the bullpen excel; after Josh Towers surrendered 6 runs in two innings, the bullpen shut the Rangers down for 6 innings. The offense didn't give up either; down 6-0 after 2, they rallied slowly and twice were within a base hit of tieing it up. The series splits at 2 apiece, and so far the Jays have won or split every series. Let's just hope the momentum carries into the Red Sox series.
  18. "Results May Vary" was what happens when a band thinks itself capable of more than it really is. "Chocolate Starfish" was no gem, but at least it was a band in it's element. This new stuff I like, though. Fred still sucks as a vocalist and lyricist, but at least the riff is catchy.
  19. Gustavo Chacin is the fucking man. It's kind of a shame that Chacin shuts the Rangers down and the offense puts of 8 runs, but Lilly struggles a bit, gives up 3, and the Jays can only put 2 runs up. Anyway, Vernon Wells is crapping it up this year, he best pull out of it soon.
  20. Beginner: 8 seconds Intermediate: 41 seconds Expert: 116 seconds
  21. There's nothing worse for a control pitcher like Ted Lilly to not be able to hit those corners. It was a 4-2 final and he was only responsible for 3 of those runs (Brandon League was surprisingly good in relief), but Ted had a rough night. Jays offense couldn't get going tonight, and when they were close to getting something started in the 8th, Vernon Wells crapped it up again. 7-4 record now, which is still good but it's concerning to see a starter struggle when we've got the iffy bullpen of ours.
