  1. Write off? Where in the fuck did I write off the UK scene? All I said was that you can't compare the UK scene to the US one because right now, the best UK rapper doesnt match up to a lot of people in the US. Although thats the case, its not like the UK scene is bad at all. There is talent there, but its not as polished as the ones in the US at the moment. Also, what the fuck are you talking about me not knowing anything about the UK scene? Just because I dont live in England doesnt mean that I dont listen to UK rappers so please shut the fuck up and dont say shit that you dont know a thing about. ←

Not one that ultimately proved to be a detriment to their work. They got everything they needed out of Nina and she was reaching for her gun.

    24

At some point they're going to have to bring Jack back to earth, because his character's pragmatism has a certain tendency to never be wrong. 24 is almost a history of Jack making the tough but right decisions and everyone else not being able to understand why. It's still kick ass, but it'd be interesting to see him fuck up for a change.
  4. Robin And the 7 Hoods - *** (6/10) This 1964 film from director Gordon Douglas loosely transposes the classic story of Robin Hood with the 1920's prohibition era. As was often the case in early 60's Sinatra films, Dean, Sammy, Bing Crosby and of course Barbara Hershey star in Robin And the 7 Hoods, a story of crime, revenge and charity. As per usual, Frank Sinatra takes the lead role as Robbo, a degenerate racketeer who resists falling into line with Guy Gisborne's (Peter Falk) attempt to monopolize the organized crime business in Chicago after his friend Big Jim is killed and Gisborne stands out as a likely perpetrator. Outmanned and outgunned, Robbo takes to building an "unhittable" casino. An accidental act of charity soon earns Robbo the nickname "Robin Hood", and, with the help of Little John (Dean Martin), Will (Sammy Davis) and the orphanage raised Allen A Dale (Bing Crosby), sets out to put his stamp on the city. I like this movie despite it's flaws based almost entirely on its cast. There's nothing really new to this glossy crime comedy, but musical performances by the 4 male leads are real gems. There is much more music here than in "Ocean's Eleven", and although it doesn't stand out as one of Frank Sinatra's greatest films, it is certainly a worthy rental. Thumbs up.
  5. As "Music for the Mature B-Boy" was released only 2 years ago, I'm gonna say no. ←
  6. Canada's still the ugly step child.
  7. I agree about the quality in Canada, sorta. K-OS is fucking awesome. Fuck the UK though. America has plenty of quality rappers, though. ← I see you have not discovered Sir Abdominal. ←
  8. I concur with Kou. American Dad was fantastic, whereas Family Guy just seemed all the build up without any killer punch lines.

    The O.C.

Anyone notice the amount of Star Wars involvement with this series? First the trailer debuts attached to one episode, they feature the video game this week, and next week Lucas guest stars. Anyone else think George has a thing for teenage melodrama?
  10. The teaser trailer for the fourth Harry Potter film, directed by Mike Newell, has been posted online at Apple.com, This is their run of the mill low-res version, but I'm assuming the better version is soon to come (and is already available if one is looking in the right places). Thoughts? You can't distinguish too much from the low-res version, but having seen a better copy the film looks terrific. It seems to be going in a much darker direction, and this direction fits Michael Gambon perfectly in the Dumbledore role. I'm not quite certain but it sounded like we got a quick taste of some of the new film's score, and if the bits that did appear are included in the final copy, they've found themselves a suitable replacement for John Williams.

  12. If we're talking strictly talent, than I'd say on a per release basis I prefer the UK scene. The Streets, Dizzee and GLC alone pretty much ensure that. If we're talking success then it's not even close, because while American hip hop pretty much dominates the industry world wide, the UK scene is pretty much just emerging on an international stage.

    The O.C.

Season 2's essentially ruined it for me as must see TV. I generally tape The O.C., watch Survivor now. This whole, Zach's a good guy-Zach's a bad guy thing is dumb, and sadly not even top 5 in the worst storylines of the season. Hopefully season 3 brings back a certain comic loving ex-flame of Seth's back into the picture and they can branch out beyond the 2 dull female leads at this point. Actually scratch that, there are 4 dull female leads if you count the 2 adults. The show's only worth watching at this point for Peter Gallagher's Sandy Cohen, who you can't help but feel sorry for.
  14. You got your "advance copy" the same day the album leaked online eh? The album's awesome, but my major complaint is that it is so ridiculously short (11 tracks, 36 minutes). If "Hypnotize" is this short, they probably should have released a double disc. Hell, if "Hypnotize" is this short, they could have released both on one disc. My personal favorite track is "Violent Pornography" for Serj's vocals.
  15. Man, when Miguel Batista is hot, the whole Blue Jays organization must be. Josh Towers' performance last night was akin to some of his exceptional work in 2003 where he went 8-1. The lone run was not a pretty one, but we'll take it.
  16. "The radio side of his career includes hosting The Mad-Dog and Daryn Morning Show on Toronto's KISS 92FM followed by his solo programme The Daryn Jones Show also on KISS. " From his bio on CBC. I think Mad Dog and Daryn was the original show.
  17. Didn't Kiss 92 have Darryn Jones doing their morning show at one time? It's odd to think that he'd go from appealing to 12 year olds in the morning to doing The Buzz on Comedy at 10pm.
