I'd prefer most GOOD US comedies to our stuff, but as Mudda pointed out, these all follow a similar, bland and boring format in my eyes. UK stuff isn't great, but some of our better stuff (though you either love them or hate them for the style) like The Office, Garth Merenghi, etc etc generally aren't that formulaic, as with the best stuff from the US (Arrested Development, Curb Your Enthusiasm...which I believe is from the US)

The writers don't know how to create female characters worth shit. Has a female character made one right decision yet?

Bwahahaha, 6000 COPIES OPENING WEEK. That's with a major label promotional budget, a marriage to Britney Spears and a guest appearance from one of the best selling artists of all time. Didn't Macho Man sell better than this?

Other than the fact that the big cliffhanger was nowhere near as awesome as the last before a 3 month break should be, it was a decent episode. I wish they'd come up with something more awesome for Nathan Fillion, but Sawyer was all sorts of bad ass this week. Jack's little ultimatum was sort of lame, considering the other awesome directions they could have taken it in. But hey, I suppose if it was some huge cliffhanger I'd probably be pissed off that they were making us watch Groundhog Day the Series for 3 months. >_>

I think "Norm" is one of the funniest sitcoms ever, but I think it's a litmus test for whether you like Norm MacDonald or not. As for Liam's list, "Raymond" is the only show people (critics) liked, although I thought "Just Shoot Me" had its moments.

Last night's episode was pure awesome. More Taylor, more Che mocking, more awesome. No Ryan fighting in a cage moments or anything, but it looks like tonight will probably bring that.

The show would have worked better on HBO/Showtime anyway. Not just because it caters towards a higher brow audience, but because with the lengths of the scenes, it feels like the commercial breaks come way too soon. Probably doesn't have even the slightest chance of going there, but maybe Sorkin will think of that next time.

Is it any coincidence that Britney leaves K-Fed one day and is hot again the next?

I'd guess they're either confident in their other pilots or saw the reshot episodes with Alicia Silverstone and realised what a terrible mistake they'd made. Either way, some are saying NBC may not even air it, which would be a similar fate to the one met by another John Cho pilot "The Men's Room".
