  1. For those of you who couldn't possibly endure actually having to watch an episode of the Simpsons to catch it, here is the trailer for the upcoming Simpsons movie. It didn't get awesome until the "caught between a rock and a hard place" bit, but after that I'm sold. Surely they must have planned it well enough that they won't fuck this one up, right?
  2. The Tragically Hip - World Container It's not as good as some of their previous stuff, but still good. I consider The Hip, along with Sam Roberts and The Trews, to be really the torchbearers for Canadiana music, and they carry the torch well. This one has a track that should be a fucking hockey anthem, plus the single is so addictive. Favorite Tracks - "Yer Not the Ocean", "The Lonely End of the Rink", "In View", "The Kids Don't Get It", "The Drop Off", "Family Band".
  3. Feet is so two months ago. Ask anybody, it's illiterate chicks now.

    The Borat Movie

29 million dollar second weekend. In case you've just noticed, Borat is now a big deal. >_>
  5. I'm starting to think that the show might actually be stronger now than in season 1. You drop the albatross character Marissa, tone the comedy-drama ratio and transition out of the generic high school rebeliousness and that forces the writers to get their shit together. Plus Melinda Clarke has really been astonishing thus far, Taylor is such an awesome character and Rachel Bilson is such a better lead than Mischa Barton. 3 for 3 this year, and hopefully the ratings will get better. I'd like to see them make the move to Wednesdays and see how it does on a week that they don't make the episode available in advance.
  6. From Family Guy - "The King is Dead" Stewie: You know, it is so fashionable to take a shot at Jay Leno. Look, the fact is the man is out there every bloody night with fresh material and he's charming.
  7. ONE STAR... ALTHOUGH IF YOU'D ASKED I'D HAVE VOTED 5.

    The Office US

Season 1 kinda sucked. Everything since has been absolute genius.
  9. Woo for the entire top 17. And now the part of me that secretely hoped Scarlett would finish about Carly Pope can come to the surface! Finishing second I figured would have sucked, but I suppose 2nd to Elisha Cuthbert is fine. And ROC's pictures of Jessica Alba are HORRIBLE. >_>
  10. It's just funny that this whole argument started because Chasing Lamely didn't get the Family Guy reference. >_>
  11. The trailer looks great, but when you spend 200 million dollars on a movie, if you better be able to put together 2 minutes of greatness for a trailer. Hopefully the hit single they release from the soundtrack this time won't be a shit as that Dashboard Confessional song. >_>
  12. Isn't this the tradition with Mats anyways? The regularity with which he seems to get hurt every November makes me wonder if he's not just a big fan of the TV sweeps period. >_>
  13. Well I guess I should keep that in mind the next time someone posts a guilty pleasures thread. :ohwell:
  14. Gary Jules - Trading Snakeoil for Wolftickets Jules is such an awesome and palatable songwriter, so it's really fun, easy listening from start to finish. I like that "Mad World" is placed at the end, which lets the listener really appreciate his skills all the way through before they get to the most well known track. My favorites - "Broke Window", "Umbilical Town", "Unlucky", "No Poetry", "Mad World". KRS-One - Life KRS is awesome, but goddamn the guy needs some new producers. Most of his songs are pretty sparse and unimpressive apart from his mic skills, and in hip hop that just doesn't cut it. A few great tracks though - "Woke Up", "Mr. Percy", "I'm On the Mic", "Gimmie Da Gun", "I Ain't Leaving".

    The Borat Movie

Last night it did 9.9 million, which puts it ahead of last week's opening number. Obviously this is because it's on more screens than last week, but it still has the top average at the box office. One thing's for sure, there's no way they can do another Borat without staging the whole thing now.
  16. I dunno, they say all publicity is good publicity, but I dunno, a couple million people watched Britney and Kevin: Chaotic, and millions read those tabloids, but for only 6,000 people to buy his record? That percentage is insanely low.
  17. 8 1/2 should clearly be on that top list, as its one of the greatest movies of all time and almost certainly didn't make the list.
