  1. Saturday Night Live - "Annette Benning/Gwen Stefani/Akon" - 7.5/10 Although SNL can still get a little stale at times, they seem to be headed towards brighter days with Jason Sudeikis, Andy Samberg, Keenan Thompson and Kristen Wiig on the cast. The political cold-open and monologue were God awful, but it was mostly gravy from there on in. Funny sketches included an awesome re-edit of the "Apocalypto" trailer, a Robert Smigel cartoon "Diddy's Kiddies", "Good Morning, I Hate This Town", the SNL Digital Short, "Consumer Beware" and the resurgent "Weekend Update", which is not only funny but also pulled off professionally under Amy Poehler and Seth Meyers.
  2. (hed) p.e. - Back To Base X - 8/10 Best Tracks: Novus Ordus Clitorus, White Collars, Peer Pressure, Daze Or War.

That was better, but still way off from previous seasons. I'm getting more and more comfortable with this season being the last. Hopefully the musical episode kicks some ass. Still, there were some good moments this time, the best being Kelso telling Jack his shirt looks gay.
  6. Okay that was fucking awesome, one of the best "O.C." episodes yet. Ryan's Taylor obsession, Che chaining himself to Summer, Seth tracking Che down, Bullet... all awesome. I really hope next week's episode isn't the "It's A Wonderful Life" knock off they seemed to indicate it would be in the preview. I've already seen one bad version of that this week, and no one is going to touch when "Popular" did it anyway.

Terrible for the first 10 minutes, and probably the worst season premiere yet. But at least it got focused in the last half. Auspicious start though; if the rest of the episodes are gonna be like this I hope it's the last season.
  9. Is it really more intelligent than Fraiser? Because America has created a few 'intelligent' comedies over the years.
  10. Come on, "Wolf Like Me" 8/10? Maybe the song, but aren't we letting our biases get in the way just a tad? The video is dull.
  11. Okay Reilly is starting to appear a mere mortal. "Raines" and "Black Donnellys" should have spots specifically tailored for them, not just kept as late season replacements. And am I to assume that since it appears nowhere on the press release that "The Singles Table" is either going to air in the summer or not at all? Because that sucks. :@ EDIT:
  12. Zaun-y is back. He was good this year, but this season is gonna be the test of whether he can function full time. This year he won't have Bengie to handle 40-50% of the games.
  13. I wonder if the 21,000 units sold for Tom Waits is 7,000 3CD sets, or 63,000 CD's.
  14. Just about anything (except maybe MTV) gets better musical acts than SNL lately.
  15. The conclusion to the rapist angle was great, but mostly because it has concluded and we can get to a murder mystery again. Thank God they gave Logan his balls back, but I don't see what they'll do to bring the crazy sarcastic Logan back. Second half of the season looks good though.
  16. Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore - 7/10 Soylent Green - 4/10
