    Guilty Pleasures

I wasn't aware Billy Joel was a guilty pleasure. And mine is Fergie...
  2. Those nominees are really good. Possibly better than the Oscars.
  3. So yeah... bumped the wrong topic:
  4. Devin Townsend - Synchestra This is obviously nothing like Townsend's other band Strapping Young Lad, but it's awesome. It's got the wankery for the hardcore metal fans and the grunge influenced stuff that made nu-metal awesome. Great record.
  5. I'm certain K-Os hasn't been 20 for a LOOONG time. He had singles out in the early to mid 90's.
  6. Wow, Studio 60 doing TOO MUCH in an episode? There's a new one. Definitely the best of the three parter. Cal's storyline never got good, but everything else ended pretty well. I'm not a big fan of the usage of the late additions to the cast (i.e. Darius and Andy). Hopefully they get something more interesting before the show wraps.
  7. So we traded the guy who directed "Blade: Trinity" for the guy who directed, well, those crap movies the article mentions. There wasn't anything to be excited about before, and there isn't anything to be excited about now. Now Goyer writing and Christopher Nolan direction, that would be something to talk about...
  8. It did pretty well on DVD from what I understand. Either way, a direct-to-DVD or made for TV sequel shouldn't be out of the question. Although I would still prefer a Buffy movie.
  9. I read someone who claimed that Firefly had broken even after DVD sales, but I don't know for sure. Either way I don't think Joss is going to be quick to jump back to the small screen.
  10. Smallville - "Crimson" - 7.5/10 I hate when they bring out the red kryptonite usually, but this episode was surprisingly very good. Smallville has gotten great, and it started with them killing Jason Teague two years ago. That guy was a fucking cancer, and pairing Lex with Lana just makes Clark's who deal seem more interesting. Just a shame we obviously can never get a full on Lois and Clark relationship on this show. Instead of Welling and Durance we have to settle for Brandon Routh and the skeletor. Oh, and I didn't watch it today, but "Labyrinth" from last week was awesome (8.5/10), and one of the best episodes of the show so far.
  11. I'm pretty sure it aired on A&E a number of times.
  12. The most amazing fact about The Wizard of Oz is that the same year director Victor Fleming released it, he also did Gone with the Wind. Now I know Clint Eastwood did well with the Iwo Jima movies but this is ridiculous.
  13. I saw an episode of Ned And Stacey today. Man, if that's what TVTropolis has to fill the time, they should probably just die.
  14. This was one of the best episodes of the season so far. Deputy Leo as Young Sandy was awesome, Taylor was classic and Bullet was Bullet, which is awesome. Even Kaitlin has gotten awesome. Seth and Summer's storyline I assume is a set-up to some sort of Ross-Rachel ending when the show concludes, but it was okay. They finally revealed what everyone had already figured out 3 years ago about Kirsten's abortion. It's a sign of how the show has matured that they're not treating it like the ultimate conclusion to some huge melodramatic 3 episode arc. I'm gonna have a WAY harder time letting this show go than Veronica Mars.

  17. Epic Movie - 2.5/10 Forget Epic Movie, I consider my quest to find a second good movie in the month of January far more epic. It started encouragingly with the heartfelt and entertaining Freedom Writers, then hit near catastrophe with the wretchedly unfunny Happily 'Never After. After a few encouraging disappointments like Alpha Dog and Smoking Aces, the cause was devastated by the attrocious Epic Movie, leaving our hero broken and discouraged. It may not have the feel good ending these action adventure types tend to have, but at the very least it might annoy me less than this trash. It actually has the distinction of being worse than Date Movie, full of lame parodies and rehashed materials from the rest of the "Movie" series. What's next? A kitschy look at the world of pornography full of bestiality, fart jokes and appearances from 80's sitcom stars? No wait, that one sucked when it was called Orgazmo. Not that it'll stop them from trying.
