  1. And the "fuck you" irony of it all... FOX giving "The O.C." a strong lead in for once (AI) was enough to lift the network into 3rd in the timeslot.
  2. This whole episode seemed like a very admirable attempt to tie up storylines they'd clearly planned over a 20+ episode arc. It was Josh Schwartz's final "fuck you" to FOX's insufferable dithering, he refused to change the storylines in mid-stream they way he'd been forced to in season one or dial up the storylines like in the 2nd and 3rd seasons. The best part is that, with few exceptions, he actually rose to the occasion and produced a really satisfying conclusion. Now he goes off to do "Chuck" for NBC and "Gossip Girl" for CW, the former being the one I'm most interested in (starring Adam Baldwin ), and hopefully the cast, as well as some of the awesome late-comers to the cast like Autumn Reeser, Chris Pratt and the guy who played Bullet go on bigger and brighter things. Except for Mischa Barton. They should have killed Marissa years ago. :@
  3. SOPHOMORE SEASON OF THE LOOP PREMIERES JUNE 10 For those keeping score at home, that's 423 days from season one's finale to season two's premiere. Man, what a ratings bonanza I'm sure that'll be. For those who couldn't get enough Grey's Anatomy... ... your taste in television sucks. And finally... Kitchen Confidential Comes to DVD Nick Brendon fanboyism aside, I thought "Kitchen Confidential" was a pretty damn good sitcom. But like most good shows on FOX not named "24" or "House", they didn't know how to market it for shit. I might check this one out.
  4. Wow, that was an awkward transition. We find out Lamb is dead, and Keith replaces him in like 30 seconds? Meh episode this week, and it's doing nothing in particular to make its renewal necessary. Last week's was great, and I'm happy Logan is being less emo, but I really can't find myself caring about the O'Dell murder beyond a passing interest. The other murder was completely uninteresting.
  5. I'm pretty sure there are 6 episodes in the order to go, and even though I'm sure it'll return and be aired sometime in a few months, if it doesn't you can guarantee that it'll all be released on DVD. This show is the most Tivo'd on television, it'll do great on DVD.
  6. Anything that could lead to a Rage reunion is fine with me. Audioslave has always been a band I could take or leave, so I'm not really bothered by this. Thought "Revelations" was their best though.
  7. Season 4 has made "The O.C." one of my favorite shows again, and this episode is one of the best. It's now definitely gonna suck to see it go. Loved the Seth/Ryan stuff, and the Julie/Kaitlin/Ice Cream Guy stuff continued Kaitlin's good streak. Sandy was classic the whole episode, and Taylor/Summer was indeed awesome. Only one more week.
  8. Somehow I don't think Lost will be a big syndication performer, but I thought that about 24 and it's still airing like 10 hours a day on A&E so who knows.
  9. Fitzy and Beatnik are saying how good this show is, but after seeing the commercials for it I'm not seeing why I should watch it.
  10. This was top 5 of all the episodes so far. The idea of really showing what it's like for a newbie on the show is a novel one, and taking Matt off his high-horse while explaining the reason he dislikes Luke is a novel twist. Interesting to see where they go from here with Matt on drugs, as they really already dealt with the issue with Danny having to take this gig because of his drug use. Hopefully next week's episode has a killer twist and hooks viewers to stick around till the spring. And hopefully then we'll be talking about what a smash hit The Black Donnellys are.
  11. I can't believe Fitzy didn't mention that the lady was Rose Cafee! Great episode. Desmond is awesome, and this is probably my favorite of the flashbacks. Might have helped that it was a continuous flashback uninterrupted by island silliness. No Jack/Sawyer/Kate/Others makes it tough to be really exciting, but hell there wasn't even any Locke and it was still great. It's like the lack of the main characters to fall back on made the writers work harder. The swerve of teasing Claire being in danger and making it Charlie instead was a lot more interesting than any of the other big TV twists so far this year. And I doubt the series will go beyond 4, maybe 5 seasons. They won't let this one fade from relevance like X-Files.
  12. I don't know why everyone has given up on Josh Towers so absolutely. He had a horrifying year in 2006, granted. But in each of his other years with Toronto he's been a solid starter, and I can't imagine he's just been sitting back this offseason. I'll at least stay hopeful that a fire was lit under his ass in 2006 and he'll come back with a vengeance in 2007. A LOT of ifs for the Jays in 07, and I happen to think he's one of the biggest.

    Grammys

I just thought I'd add that Corinne Bailey Rae/John Legend/John Mayer was by far the best performance of the night. Not just because it was 3 great artists, but 3 great artists that actually seemed to care about what they were performing. The only other person who could recieve that distinction is Mary J Blige, but I guess I just don't get into her music at all.
  14. Dude, that video is AWFUL. It's like Alpha Dog only worse.

It's hard to understand what someone on your ignore list is saying, but the award show sucked. The performances were sombre, the awards were questionable and they somehow forgot Proof in the "In Memoriam" thing.
  16. Another good episode. Rockafeller is so awesome. I knew those bastards would crusm me like when they cancelled Sons & Daughters though. ABC doesn't know what to do with a good comedy, especially since it's been what, 6 years since they've had one that's both good AND successful? The last good ones with any kind of longevity I can remember are "The Norm Show" and "Two Guys And A Girl", and neither of them even got to 5 seasons.
  17. I watched the first episode and didn't mind it, but the silliness and lack of interest at all in the big mystery lost me by about episode 3. It's not offensively bad, but I certainly never got the Emmy whoring it got the first season.

    Scrubs

You honestly think this will be the end of Kim? If anything we are going to see her more.

The episode was okay, but the Kim twist was ridiculously soapy. That felt to me like they realised that they wanted the show to go another season and that they'd painted themselves into a corner with JD potentially having to deal with fatherhood after they'd already done that with the other two male leads. The Janitor was awesome, though.
  20. I completely agree with "Freak On a Leash" at #1, and I'm just happy that the people at MuchLoud aren't as retarded as the people at Much who put together their "Top Videos of the Past Decade" list about a month ago. With the exception of My Chemical Romance, I'd watch every one of those videos. Now if only Much Loud would actually start PLAYING good videos like that.
  21. Kittie - Funeral For Yesterday It's a bit samey, but I'm happy that their music actually sounds genuine this time around. The last two records felt like Kittie trying to emulate their idols, but this time around they realise their greatest strength is Morgan, and that's a good thing. She's doing more actual singing this time around and I like that, because it seemed that when she was doing the death/hardcore vocals she almost didn't get the joke that everyone else who is successful in those styles seemed to be in on.
