  1. I think that depends on which Zack Greinke shows up: the promising starter or the crazy guy. Quite like Odalis Perez, only replace crazy with sucky. And that is the labyrinth known as the Kansas City Royals starting rotation outside of Gil Meche.
  2. Jays bats capitalized on a generally weak KC squad for a 9-1 thumping. Nothing really new to point out there, other perhaps than the Jays capitalizing on way more opportunities than at times in other games. A.J. Burnett's performance was great on paper, but he had struggles with putting away batters between the 2nd and 4th innings. I don't know if it's a mental thing about two-strike counts or whether Glaus' poor fielding of a second inning base hit that threw him off his game, but he had some big problems with dealing with hitters down 2-strikes. He eventually settled down and actually only gave up hits to two different batters, but it's something to keep an eye on, obviously.
  3. They looked alright, just out of shape and undisciplined. The former will almost certainly improve as the season progresses, while the other will be up to Johnston. Either way, it's probably a better than average expansion franchise.
  4. Oh certainly, because it couldn't be our inferior roster or bottom line-driven ownership, right? It must be someone else's fault. Nothing will get better until the games stop selling out.
  5. GYS, I know I'm gonna sound like a total bandwagon jumper with Janssen with the start he's had, but I've actually always though he had great stuff, he just needs to be able to harness it. I was at his best performance to date, a 7.1 inning 1 hit performance against the Angels, and when he's hitting his locations the guy's scary. Not a power pitcher by any means, but he knows how to get outs. He seems to have a good attitude, and he knows solid relief work is what's going to get him back to the starting rotation. I was also really disappointed with the loss of Speier, he was a fantastic set-up guy. But I like Frasor, Marcum has potential and I like the idea of the 6th starter acting as mop-up. It's not a fantastic pen, but it's also not a particularly pitching based roster. They've got potential, the cards just need to fall in their direction this year.
  6. This is useless without video. Watching it is like a lover's quarrel. They should just get it over with and fuck already.

Wikipedia has informed me that there will be another Deltron 3030 album this year! That has become my number 1 must have album this year, tied with New Pornographers.

I'd just like to point out that no one mentioned The New Pornographers - Challengers. For shame.
  9. And it's replacement, you ask? Why Ashton Kutcher's reality series "Wedding Crashers", of course. Why could they have aired this shit during the "Heroes" hiatus and when it came back debuted "Black Donnellys"?
  10. At the moment... Wu-Tang Clan - Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) The New Pornographers - Twin Cinema Sufjan Stevens - Michigan Abdominal - Escape from the Pigeon Hole Arcade Fire - Neon Bible Broken Social Scene - Broken Social Scene
  11. Silly finale. Silly season. At least they didn't break from the pattern.
  12. Disappointing. I'd say weaker than any of their previous singles. Maybe their so-called evolving wasn't so good an idea. They were fine for what they are, but this is pretty bland.
  13. Good job Bryan, why play the man when you can cross check Roberts? It's why you make the big bucks. EDIT: And Kabers makes up for it with the game winner. He continues to make up for that mook.
  14. Abdominal - Escape From the Pigeon Hole - 8.5/10 I don't usually give ratings, but holy shit, I needed to drive home that this is going to be one of the best hip-hop records of the year. I've been waiting for the Abs full length since DJ Format's "Vicious Battle Raps", and although I don't think their are any songs that awesome, his performance is just amazing. The 16 bar verse in one breath on "Breathe Later" is an amazing moment, and Abs' creative and interesting rhymes establish him as one of Canada's most talented MC's. It doesn't hurt that he's also a friend of some of the best DJ's in hip-hop, with production work from DJ Fase, DJ Format and Cut Chemist lining 6 of the album's 14 tracks. A breath of fresh air in an indie scene that takes itself way too seriously. Best Tracks: "Breathe Later", "T-Ode", "Radio Friendly", "Abdominal Workout", "Open Relationship"
  15. Do we ever get an immediate resolution to cliffhangers on Lost?
  16. Didn't they already established what happened to Sun like... when it happened? I loved this episode. The flashback stuff was really cool, Desmond and Locke were bad ass as usual, and the ending was SICK. And more Shannon and Boone was great. The best part was that it was so good I wasn't pissed that we didn't get the immediate resolution to the submarine/Locke's father cliffhanger. Great follow up to another great episode.
  17. Prison Break - "Fin del Camino" - 6.5/10 Better than last week, but this show is losing momentum. It needs one hell of a season finale to sustain another season. Best part was probably Agent Kellerman's small part. 24 - "Day 6: 8pm-9pm" - 5/10 I never thought 24 would ever even slip into territory like this, but here we are. I don't know what direction the producers are trying to go in where Jack is almost a side thought, but if they're thinking that they can kill him off, think again. Overkill on the relationships + the same VP mutiny from season 2 = me losing interest. The Black Donnellys - "Run Like Hell" - 7.5/10 lol critics House - "Top Secret" - 8.5/10 Damn. That was almost as good as my personal favorite House episode "No Reason". This whole season has been about reinventing the show as original and random, and this episode certainly achieved those ends. And the Riley appearance puts it over the top. In closing, House is awesome.
  18. The return date has officially been set for May 1st. At least it'll go out in sweeps.
  19. Smallville has been so awesome in season 6 that I have gone back to watch the show again from the beginning. I've just finished watching season 1. The show opens like many teen soaps: boy meets girl, girl has jock boyfriend, jock boyfriend hates boy, jock boyfriend turns out not so awful at all, yada yada yada. What maintains the interest is obviously the show's massively high profile pedigree, and the solid work by the show's anchors, Michael Rosenbaum's Lex Luthor and John Schneider's Jonathan Kent. The first season's arcs are generally "Freak of the Week" episodes, but the creative use of the meteor rocks to come up with new and interesting villains gave it a breath of innocence and originality. Better than I remembered, and now I'm looking forward to the second and third season, which I remember to be the best.
