  1. Pirates of the Caribbean is not only his best movie, it features his best performance. Finding Neverland is an honorable mention.
  2. The Barbarian Invasions - ***1/2 (7.5/10) Last year's Academy Award winner for Best Foreign Language film, "The Barbarian Invasions" is a smartly written heartwarmer, probably the best thing to come out of Quebec since Guy Lafleur. It is written and directed by revered Canadian filmmaker Denys Arcand (Stardom) and stars Rémy Girard (a two time Genie Award Winner) and Stéphane Rousseau as a father and son reunited when father Rémy is hospitalized. As his death begins to appear inevitable, Sébastien decides it best to make his father's final days as enjoyable as possible, and flies Rémy's friends into Quebec to say their drawn out goodbyes. Plenty of the plot follows son Sébastien's efforts, but the group of friends assembled in this Montreal hospital are also examined in detail. This film is extremely well written and it is because of this that the movie is very entertaining despite the characters not being remotely relatable. The group of friends are an elite bunch of intellectuals whose dialogue is remarkably scholarly, and if it weren't for the poignant shots at the lives these people lead, any viewer might come away from the film slightly soured. As it stands, this is a truly touching story of a father and son's love, and asks some stimulating questions about the meaning of life. Thumbs up; a must see for anyone looking to be slightly less embarassed by Canada's film industry.
  3. Just quickly glanced through this thread, and the only thing I can say really interested me was that Q-Tip got another label. Hopefully this one is more open than the last, because that Kamaal the Abstract stuff was so much better than anything on Amplified. Hell, it was on par with a lot of his early Tribe stuff. Someone brought up who is the greatest MC of all time, and I can't think of anyone who I enjoy more than him. On to another topic, anyone hear the new Will Smith single? The production is fantastic, a huge improvement on that floater from the Men in Black 2 soundtrack. Apparently he responds to Eminem on the new album too. It's gonna be like Biggie vs Tupac for the white community!
  4. A big bump, I know, but I thought this was worth mentioning. Cigaro is not going to be the first single from "Mesmerize":

*SPOILERS* Don't be so sure you've seen the last of her. *SPOILERS*
  6. The Rat Pack - Live and Swingin is pretty bad ass. Whoever said Coldplay - Live 2003 is spot on as well.
  7. Bart Star (#6) should be number one. C'mon, it had the rare King of the Hill/The Simpsons cross over! Not to mention Joe Namath, and another Rainier Wolfcastle appearance.

Uh, wow. *SPOILERS* If Marianne has amnesia I'm going to snap. That'd be some Smallville level stupidity. It's interesting to see that Tony isn't playing the same goody good that he did in the first 3. I even thought that he might turn the gone on Jack for a second until they literally shot that chance to hell. Another good episode of course. *SPOILERS*
