  1. Jesus, all the teams have actually gone and approved it in principle. Utter madness.
  2. Matt Berry's Steven Toast is back, but now in Hollywood, and on the BBC instead of Channel 4. Toast of Tinseltown BBC press release
  3. I've seen houses(?) of cards collapse slower than that.
  4. Sprint races on Saturday are the next plan for "greater entertainment" at race weekends and increase viewership. Qualifying for the sprint race would move to Friday, a superb idea to boost viewership when everyone is at work/school at 2pm, and the sprint races would be worth half the points of a standard race. This constant need to try and change what isn't broken is becoming absurd. If they want better entertainment, don't price out new teams and bring in specifications that encourage close racing. If you want to increase viewership don't sell the rights to the highest bidders, all of which are subscription-based channels. Just leave qualifying and the races alone.
  5. Turns out that pitch fell apart fairly quickly, then seemingly magically became flat again overnight. One of the big advantages to playing at home is having a ground staff willing to work/not work on the pitch dependent on what the home team's situation is, we do the same here. Thankfully that didn't last and Jimmy's mega over and Leach got us over the line. Huge win given India's record at home.
  6. I have no problem with the people in the stadium, the vast majority are vaccinated health workers. The bars being open is stupid, but it has been stupid for a long time and given the US laws I'm not entirely sure what Biden could do to stop it.
  7. I thought America the Beautiful was great, particularly the guitar. This is not as good, the dude wearing sunglasses whilst the sky is quite obviously dark is not winning me over. A Google search seems to indicate this is not a one-off. True MVP is the sign language guy though.
  8. I thought the PA announcer had forgotten who she was then. "It's um.... Her, yeah, that one over there." Oh absolutely, but Brown has a special place in my heart of hatred for giving up on the Steelers, because being the lead receiver wasn't enough for him.
  9. I wasn't sure who to support during this, until I remembered that Antonio Brown plays for the Bucs now. Go Chiefs.
  10. Jesus Christ, West Brom are playing our own game against us and have had the best chance of the match. If we don't win here I have no idea how Jose stays.
  11. Kane's starting, which seems unnecessarily risky for West Brom at home. That said, given the last few performances we need every advantage possible.
  12. What the... I have to assume this is a wind-up, but if it turns out I've gone back in time to 2019 I think I need to get on a plane to China and have some words with a few people.
  13. This pitch is the epitome of what kills test cricket, nothing in it at all for the bowlers and the batsmen feast out for five days, usually to appease the Indian fans who turn up to see Kohli/Tendulkar/Gavaskar bat, and literally leave the ground if they get out. Not taking anything away from Root's innings, but if there's no fair contest between bat and ball the match offers little interest.
  14. WV episode 5 ending: That is all. EDIT: That is not all.
  15. 33% possession and 1 shot, playing at home. I know stats don't say everything, but t's embarrassing.
  16. Realistically in test cricket the four umpires are all meant to be neutral, i.e. from countries not taking part in the match, although COVID has obviously made that redundant at the moment which is why England finally had Michael Gough, easily the world's best umpire, involved over the summer. In ODI and T20 games it's heavily reduced, with usually one on-field umpire being from the home nation and the other being neutral, with the exception of ICC tournaments where it will always be two neutrals. This mainly came about because during the 80s and 90s home team umpires were found to be blatantly favouring their own country, particularly in Pakistan, which is why Mike Gatting once almost had a fist fight with a Pakistan umpire during a game.
  17. Fun fact from Reddit, it has been 32 years since a Grand Prix didn't have a Finnish driver entry (the only one that didn't have one in the race was the 2010 Spanish Grand Prix, Heiki Kovaleinen qualified but didn't start). There has however never been a Finnish Grand Prix, nor any likely plans for there to be one.
  18. Southampton request that Mike Dean (and Lee Mason) do not officiate in any of their upcoming fixtures Just need the other 19 teams to do the same and we're sorted.
  19. As someone who never played an NCAA game but has seen them heavily praised, what about them makes it so different to the Madden franchise?
  20. Ryan Coogler to develop a Wakanda-centric TV show for Disney+ He's signed a five year TV deal with the mouse, for I assume a whole lot of well-earned money.
  21. Damn, sorry about that. Weird thing is I'd closed the F1 tab after I'd posted here . Thanks for the heads up!
  22. That's now 6 out of the 20 contracted drivers from 2020 who have tested positive. That is far too big a percentile.
