  1. I've always tried to say that the second tier of international sides like Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands should be allowed to play against the top tier more often, but today is doing very little to help that cause. 3 centuries for England, including Buttler's in just 47 balls, and a Netherlands team made up of players who aren't considered good enough to play for a county side. And then Morgan gets a golden duck... Highest ODI total of all time, but it doesn't quite feel the same as doing it against Australia. Plus 498 just feels like you bottled getting 500.
  2. I'm glad Andrew Wiggins was able to transfer the training and knowledge he obtained in Minnesota into winning a championship. Despite Draymond's best efforts it's so easy to like this Warriors team, the way they play the game is so fun to watch, Steve Kerr is a great coach and I'm still in awe of his press conference after the shooting in Uvalde, plus you've got the comeback story of Klay Thompson and the greatest shooter of all time in Curry. I'd love to say the Celtics could be back next year, but the parity of the top 10-12 teams in the league right now makes it almost impossible to predict.

I guess the Season 14 contestants aren't going to be revealed until after Champion of Champions next week, although from what I've read they've already recorded the studio sections for it.
  4. I'm usually a fan of Rory McIlroy as it is, but if he were to win the US Open ahead of deChambeau, Reed, Johnson, Mickelson etc. it would be very enjoyable.
  5. I'm not entirely sure this world deserves Iman Vellani.
  6. Between this and Fallen Order they really have built him back up to being the badass he was in the original trilogy, his penchant for fighting by just standing there and swaying out of the way of or force blocking light saber strikes is so much fun. Ep 5 below.
  7. Man I love this show, it's covering so much ground that shows of this nature don't usually cover, and everyone is knocking it out of the park. Kamala getting duped into drinking alcohol genuinely pissed me off from previous experience, which was the only sour note (and not the show's fault, because that shit happens far too often and it's really not funny).
  8. Saka off, Maguire on, that'll help get those goals back. Well thank God Maguire was on to prevent more goals.
  9. Guys, your team is broken. (Ignore what's happening with mine please ) Oh wow, that is one of the worst sendings off I've seen in a while.

Season 8 is my least favourite as well, partly because of the Iain Sterling issues mentioned, partly because watching Paul Sinha struggle doing physical tasks with hindsight of his Parkinson's diagnosis makes me sad, and partly because:
  11. I'm not saying that this is all Channel 4's fault, but there is a noticeable difference between the performances before and after they took on the broadcasting rights.
  12. What a chase that was, like a completely different team. Stokes finishing it with an almost identical shot to his Headingley innings was a nice touch.
  13. I've never been the biggest Bairstow fan, but this innings has been sensational. And just as I type that, he gets out.
  14. It wouldn't surprise me. Latifi hasnt delivered at all this year, which is a shame because he seems like a really nice guy. This isn't a Mazepin situation where he's a terrible driver and person so it's a tougher thing to see.
  15. Obviously the main part is Piastri deservingly joining the grid, but Williams Renault just sounds right.
  16. The South African GP is likely to return in 2023, with the Belgian GP likely to be the one to make way. This is such a difficult one to judge, because there absolutely needs to be a race in Africa, but Belgium should absolutely not be the one to miss out. Apparently the Dutch GP does enough to cover that area of the world. Although it's strange how they don't say that for Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Abu Dhabi, huh?
  17. Are Alpha Tauri actually willing to risk the safety of their driver on some gaffer tape?
  18. Ferrari are doing a fine job of taking themselves out of conention. Meanwhile Perez is being told not to attack against Max, so this could be a fairly damp squib of a race/championship.
  19. This England team, even without Kane, should be good enough to beat us. That said, the start has been surprisingly promising.
  20. On September 2nd Spider-Man No Way Home is getting re-released in cinemas with a "More Stuff" version that has a little bit more footage. It will also be re-released on Blu-Ray/digital just before Christmas as a separate version. I hope this isn't a sign of how things are going to be in the future, studios deliberately releasing a film with content missing to allow them to double-up on revenue with a second version.
  21. I really enjoyed the first episode, the art style, imagination and the story itself is fantastic, and they couldn't have found someone more perfect than Iman Vellani to play the role. These MCU casting teams are pretty decent. I'm not entirely sold on how she got her powers, although that's mainly frustration at the behind-the-scenes stuff that prevent the comics origin from happening, but I'll see where they go with it. There's also a spoiler in the credits which pretty much guarantees a cameo in a future episode, obviously don't click if you don't want it spoiled as this just seems like a combination of internet-sleuthing and laziness from the credits team.
  22. The reason that Nico Rosberg has only been on Sky via satellite, with the exception of Monaco, is because he's banned from the F1 paddock due to not being vaccinated (Monaco was filmed outside of the paddock). He says his doctor has recommended him not getting the vaccine because his natural antibodies are just so darn strong.
  23. The best explanation I've seen is that she's acting like a 21st century American and that makes her feel out of place in the Star Wars universe.
  24. Try not to be too surprised, but new FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem doesn't think the drivers should be doing/saying anything that might be conceived as representing a cause, or as he puts it, "imposing [their] beliefs". Hilarious to use Niki Lauda as an example of someone who only cared about driving when he spent so much time lobbying for improved safety, threatening boycotts of events in Apartheid countries, and stopped racing for three years to run an airline. And by "hilarious", I mean "scarily ignorant".
  25. I want to be happy for Wales, especially Bale, Rodon and Davies, but I'm overwhelmed with sadness for all the Ukrainian players, coaches, and most of all the fans and people of the country who just needed one crumb of comfort in these times.
