  1. I'll keep my mouth shut about Magnussen not being in the mid-field on the first lap if it hadn't been for the sprint race, and focus more on how Danny Ric's "I don't care" mentality since being dropped is getting a little dangerous.

Yikes, I thought the World Cup games being played with 6 players from a team was just to win a game, winning 6 is insane. Good luck to anyone trying it.
  3. It feels like Ryan Coogler would be much happier making the Black Panther movies separate from the MCU, any time that there's any universe integration it feels either shoehorned in like Val or tacked on the end, like Bucky at the end of the first movie. Something I didn't mention, and maybe it was just an issue for me, but some of the scenes were so, so dark that I could barely make out what was going on. For example, I don't know why Lake Bell's CIA lady and her partner were sitting in complete darkness whilst they worked, other than for atmosphere.
  4. Benjamin Andrew Stokes has done it again. World Champions!
  5. England doing their best to screw up chasing down a very gettable total. OK, the last three balls have changed things a bit.

I went World Cup crazy and played some semi-pro squad battles just to score goals with as many countries, two 12-0 wins with 12 individual scorers (plus goals scored by regular team in other matches) was enough to get me to 30 out of 32. Only two left are Costa Rica, because I only have Navas and it won't let me sub him on to play outfield, and Qatar. How exactly do you get a Qatar player? I did the SBC but only got choices of non-Qatar players.
  7. I felt like going down the banned episode rabbit hole. The following are or were banned in North America/Europe: Electric Solider Porygon - The big one. Strobe lighting causing seizures in a reporte 685 viewers. Also, Porygon and all its evolutions have never appeared in an episode since (other than things like the PokéRap) even though Porygon wasn't involved in the strobe lighting scene (it was Pikachu using a Thunderbolt on a missile). The Legend of Dratini - As mentioned, guns in faces, also probably not helped by the Safari Zone Warden being called Kaiser. The Ice Cave! - Banned because Jynx's original form looked suspiciously like racial stereotyping of Africans. This episode remains banned, but Jynx is allowed in the anime now due to her new purple skin. Previously banned Beauty and the Beach - Banned because James wears a bikini with inflatable breasts, and mocks Misty's lack of chest size in comparison. Now airing but with all James's inflatable boob scenes removed. Tentacool and Tentacruel - Banned after 9/11 due to Tentacruel demolishing tower blocks, despite the same scene being featured in every opening credits of the original series. Now airing without issue. The Tower of Terror - Banned after 9/11 due to its title, now airing without issue. There have been other episodes either unaired or postponed as they were scheduled to air shortly after natural disasters in Japan and featured moves like Earthquake and Fissure. Since 2004 Earthquake, Magnitude and Fissure are no longer allowed to be used in the anime.
  8. Getting a little tired of this "It'S bEtTeR tHaN a FrEe PrAcTiCe SeSsIoN" narrative, I don't know about anyone else but my issues with sprint races is not due to entertainment, because of course it's more entertaining to have racing than a practice. My problem is that it makes qualifying completely meaningless, firstly because it puts it on a Friday when nobody can watch it, but mainly because any crazy grids we get are immediately nullified by the better teams just overtake everyone else until we get the usual top 6, just like has happened today. It just gives the top teams an even bigger advantage when they already have the best cars. Meanwhile, Max is seemingly fucked, which is entertaining. Of course because this isn't the actual race, they'll just replace the wing before the race tomorrow and everything will be fine.
  9. Well that's the fun over. Thanks sprint race. Good to see Stroll has learned from his incident with Alonso...
  10. It was a banned episode (I believe the one where the Safari Zone warden points a handgun directly in Ash's face, and at one point it's a POV shot looking down the barrel), Ash had to rescue the Tauros from Team Rocket, and the plan to do so was to catch them all. EDIT: My mistake, it was a running gag where whenever Ash tried to catch anything in the Safari Zone a herd of Tauros would run past, and the Safari Ball hit a Tauros instead. He ended up with 30 of them.

It's not all bad, I have a wonderful 91 rated Kevin de Bruyne. It's untradeable, of course.
  12. I've gone for Violet too. One day i woke up and chose Violet-nce (In reality its because I prefer the look of the Violet legendary.)

I went Belgium hoping for a better Lukaku card. I now have what feels like every Belgian player except Lukaku.
  14. Butterfree Bonus points for having multiple Tauros in the background. I can't wait to see that with the English voice dub, hearing all the voices I'm familiar with may be too much.
  15. This "score last minute winners" gimmick is fun, but also immensely frustrating.
  16. Just finished Yakuza 0 (at last) and it's such a good game narratively, if emotionally crushing at certain points. I've only played LAD before so the different style of game took some getting used to, and my progress was significantly halted by getting addicted to the Cabaret Club business. At least by the end it meant that Majima had over 6 billion yen and every available upgrade, so the last fight with him was a cinch (Kiryu, not so much, but I got there thanks to items). I was either going to replay LAD or carry on through the games, I enjoyed this a lot so am going to go to Kiwami, although I know it's not going to be as polished compared to 0.
  17. Ash has won the Pokémon World Championship in the anime. This news is currently on the front page of the BBC website.
  18. There are some good City jerseys, there are some bad City jerseys, but the Hornets have gone for a unique "double-entendre" option, especially when worn by LaMelo Ball.

Good news! I have plenty! But there's that word, "untradeable" again to stop part-time players progressing.

The music playlist has just updated, I think with songs from previous FIFA World Cup games. Rockafeller Skank by Fatboy Slim certainly wasn't in the game last week. Holy crap, I've just gone through the track listing and there's so many classics from previous FIFAs. Kids by MGMT, Way Down We Go by KALEO, My Type by Saint Motel, Supermassive Black Hole by Muse, On Top of the World by Imagine Dragons, Club Foot by Kasabian and the ultimate FIFA song... SONG 2 BY BLUR. Apparently it's a celebration of the ultimate FIFA soundtrack, and I assume is in recognition of this being the last FIFA-named game.
  21. I am so ready for a Kevin Magnussen pole. PLEASE KEEP RAINING! Also, more fine tactical tyre work from Ferrari. HE GOT IT!!! Now for the sprint race to make it all worthless.
  22. Forgot to mention, the guy representing the US at the UN conference is referred to as the Secretary of State, which is the position General Ross previously held. Given that Harrison Ford has taken over the role, and that Val made a specific reference to the president, could this mean we have a President Thunderbolt Ross, and maybe even a President Red Hulk on our hands?
  23. I was genuinely angry at the opening scene given that her character was literally trying to create a cure (aka a vaccine) that only had a 28% chance of working, yet she was still willing to use it to save her brother. I have no idea how Letitia Wright could film that scene, appreciate the emotional impact of it, and yet still not understand how an actual working vaccine could save so many lives in the real world. That anger soon turned to tears though. The silent, Chadwick-only Marvel title screen is making me tear up now just thinking about it. Actress aside I wasn't a big fan of the Shuri character before COVID, the way she was written as the smartest person in the world whilst also acting like a child grated with me somewhat, and that continued through this film as well. Personally, I'd rather Shuri was the queen/tech provider and someone else was Black Panther, any one of Okoye, Nakia or Ayo for example. They're all trained fighters, whereas Shuri has only been shown being able to fire sonic gauntlets and has no fight training, at least that's been shown. I had hoped that Okoye being thrown out of the Dora Milaje was going to lead to her getting the Black Panther mantle, I guess she got a Disney+ show instead. Another minor nitpick is that, as much as I love JLD, I don't really know what the point of Val (or Everett Ross for that matter) being in the movie was. At least we now know what her actual role is. But on to positive things. Angela Bassett was superb, granted most of her big moments were in the trailers, but that way she spoke at the UN conference showed a badass side that we hadn't seen before, on top of her emotional speeches. M'Baku may never be replaceable as my favourite character in the BP franchise, so I'm glad he appears to be taking over as King of Wakanda. I wasn't sure of what to think of Riri going in, but came out really enjoying what she brought to the table and am looking forward to Ironheart. Everything involving Namor was great, and I am so glad they didn't Kill-monger him and hopefully he'll stay around as a recurring character. And a surprise Michael B. Jordan scene was everything I could have hoped for, and was a very smart move to show Shuri's thought process was more in line with the "villain" than of her brother. And as for the credits scene, well that got me in tears again, slightly awkward given that I had to walk through a crowded cinema moments later. I hadn't expected a son of T'Challa to be introduced but as soon as I saw Nakia walking with a 6-7 year old child it became clear. We have a Prince T'Challa again.
  24. Ah crap, I'd had my whole thing thought out in my head but forgot about the spoiler tags. I enjoyed it, but have reservations about a lot of things, perhaps the biggest one is the most obvious. At least two parts got me right in the feels, should've taken some tissues with me. And Angela Bassett is nothing short of a force of nature.
  25. 10 wicket win. Absolute carnage, and the way the Indian players and fans are reacting is hilarious. The players just gave up, started arguing with each other and refusing to throw the ball back from the boundary, and the fans just left with six overs to go. I don't like Alex Hales as a person but he sure showed what he can do on a cricket field. I did indeed bowl leg spin, but gave up at 15 when I moved to adult cricket balls and my hands weren't big enough to get the necessary grip. I still enjoy cricket though, particularly on days like these...
