  1. I could be wrong, but I don't think he even went to congratulate Checo until they were at the weighing station. The best contrast is probably Gasly/Kyvat, where Kyvat was jumping on Gasly to celebrate almost before he got out of the car, and he wasn't even parked next to him. For next season I really need to start watching the F2 races more, I caught the final two rounds this weekend because of the championship intrigue and the races were so much fun. I always say I'm going to follow it then never actually do.
  2. I do wonder how Lawrence Stroll feels about the whole thing. I'm sure he's happy his team won, but the reason he has the team is for his son to be successful, instead he's getting out-raced by Perez every time, and the guy who they're replacing Perez with is theoretically better than Checo based on past success. Lance's reaction in the interview afterwards seemed pretty interesting, he seemed annoyed that Perez had won instead of him rather than happy for the team and Checo. I'm thinking that radio silence after Perez asked permission to pass Stroll is more telling than it seems.
  3. Floyd Mayweather is fighting Logan Paul in February. This sport is done. So, so close.
  4. Mercedes fined €20,000 for the tyre mix-up, but Russell keeps the points. Apparently the confusion was that they were expecting Bottas in first and the radio transmission from the wall to the pit lane to say it was Russell first had some interference.
  5. "It was a colossal fuck-up" - Toto, live on Sky So it was George's usual car that crashed to cause the safety car, and the debris from that car that caused the puncture. Anything with the Williams name seems insistent on holding him back.
  6. Drive to Survive were following George this weekend as well, so that's going to be worth a watch. So happy for Checo. Wish he'd slapped Daddy Stroll instead of high-fiving him though, he wouldn't be in the situation of not having a drive if it wasn't for Stroll dropping him after Checo saved the team from going under.
  7. George in the points. Thank God for that. Sure would be nice for Sainz to get past Stroll.
  8. I really want Sergio to win, but I really want George to win. Jesus Christ. He's not going to score any points AGAIN. At least Checo's going to win, I just feel so sad for George.
  9. Russell's lead is dropping fairly significantly every lap with his engine issue Meanwhile Perez is driving incredibly. Love that he asked permission to pass Stroll, didn't hear anything, so just did it. Oh fuck. The guy cannot catch a break. He didn't even need to pit.
  10. Go on George! Great start, shame his hefty lead has been wiped out by the SC. Madness from Charles, poor Max and Sergio did nothing wrong. EDIT: OK, Max didn't, Sergio maybe. Either way Charles' lock-up caused it.
  11. Good lord Sonny, that's a special one. Also, how many times does Lacazette need to take Hojberg out before he gets booked? That's three already.
  12. I got interested when there was the possibility of a rugby penalty shoot-out, but oh well.

    Taskmaster

I didn't care for the acting task either. The actual editing of it was superb, but hearing the same thing three times was a chore and Katherine's refusal to take part didn't help matters. There's a bit of discussion about it on the podcast between Ed Gamble and Richard Osman where Ed believes that if you sign up for the show then you have a duty to take part in every task regardless of other projects, whilst Richard defends her (perhaps somewhat tongue-in-cheek) saying that learning lines for two things at once is very difficult. I kinda have to agree with Ed's take on it. I'm enjoying the series, and I think they've done the best they can in the circumstances, particular where the team tasks have to be laid out completely differently due to the restrictions. What's baffling me the most is Greg's scoring, I don't think I've disagreed with him as much in any other series and he never seems to have much of an explanation for his out-of-left field scores.
  14. Grosjean's doctors have advised him not to race in Abu Dhabi, and he is accepting that.
  15. Two bad things for Alex Albon today. 1) Not making it to Q3. 2) This (taken after qualifying)
  16. The streak.... is over. But 0.026 seconds is ridiculously close for someone who hadn't driven the car until yesterday. You'd think for the sake of an extra 10 minutes they could have had 100 laps instead of 87, just for the sake of making it 100.
  17. 50 positive COVID tests for players so far, which is 49 unnamed players and Malik Monk. Also KAT has lost 7 family members to COVID during the pandemic, which is heartbreaking. I'd have no problem if he chose not to start playing until things are much better.
  18. Top of the timings in P1. I know it's only practice but still...
  19. The word coming out of Houston is that Harden didn't want to play with Westbrook and was happy to play with Wall, and Westbrook didn't even bother turning up to the Rockets' training camp. I can't help feeling Westbrook will be happier in a team where he's the biggest name, even if Beal might have something to say about that.
  20. Dupree's injury is a killer. 11-0 we may be, but it feels like our chances of actually getting to the Super Bowl are diminishing.
  21. Haas have very much become Williams now, one obvious pay driver and one driver loaned from another team's academy. Whatever it takes to survive I guess. I really, really want Russell to at least out-qualify Bottas to keep his streak going. If he wins the race I might explode.
  22. Hamilton absolutely deserves it for his achievement on the track and his hard work for equality off the track, but yeah, Rashford not even being nominated is despicably ignorant.
  23. The worst thing is that if Russell does go up, Dan Ticktum, could get his spot at Williams. If you don't know who he is, here's a video. Enjoy the part about him deliberately crashing into another driver during safety car conditions and wonder why he's still allowed to race anything.
  24. I think it would be a huge positive PR move for Mercedes to go for Hulk, plus he's been driving last year's car quite a lot this year so he'll be more prepared than most... I expect contracts and guidelines will likely scupper the chance though.
