Anyone else watch Australia vs. New Zealand last night? I found it to be a pretty awesome match. Some absolute huge hits and the fights are always good. Matai saved King from being absolutely walloped though I don't think that was his intention however. It was also good to see Thurston get knocked down in one punch. Vatuvai (was it?) pulled off a HUGE hit on KHunt and Kidwell's on Mason's was awesome too, especially his reaction after. It's no wonder I don't mind seeing the Kiwi's win since they're so damn entertaining.

Not all Melbourne fans are bandwagoners. They had a good 14,000 fans last year. However, straight after the WC they get another 10,000 fans from no where, which was helped with a 30,000+ crowd for the Melbourne game. Yes, Melbourne do love sport and it's well known they'd jump onto anything successfull. Hell, they had more people watching the NRL Grand Final than Sydney and Brisbane did. You also mentioned growth for the A-League, which is barely evident in this years crowds figures, yet according to all and sundry this was supposed to be a huge year for the A-League follwing the WC. And yes, clearly you must be homosexual to follow the Gay-League

You mean everybody! Hardly anyone in my grade and from where around I live (save one family down the road who are AFL mad) give two shits about the AFL, let alone the Swans. And if you look at the crowd during Swans games, their full of bogans, like most AFL crowds. Growth is only natural? Only two teams have had significant growth in crowd numbers this year- your lot and Queensland. Everyone else has remained steady or numbers have decreased.

Why is it you sports mad fans weren't following the Victory last year? Crowds have almost doubled for you lot. You'll jump on anything going successful

Yes, I was comparing crowd averages before and after the WC. They're probably hasn't been a big improvement like they would have hoped for. I still think a lot of Melbourne's increase in crowds is because of the WC. They've almost doubled their average, yet you don't see that big a leap happening to the Storm crowds even though they're currently the best in the league.

And that's your opinion, not everyone elses.

A-League? More like Gay-League. >_> I am horribly anti-bandwagon (hence why I went for the Eagles in today's AFL final), so I'd like to see how the league goes once the bandwagon effect from the World Cup has died down. EDIT: Upon further research, Central Coast, Newcastle, Perth and Adelaide have all had drops in crowd averages, with the only big improvers being Melbourne (by 10000, highlighting the bandwagonness as Melbourne sport fans are the biggest bunch of bandwagoners ever) and Queensland. New Zealand's crowds are just horrible (average 4000).
