  1. I think it had more to do with who was shooting than who was in net. Out of the 40+ shots Toronto took last night, I can only recall one or two truly difficult saves for Anderson. Kessel got close in the third and Anderson made a great desperation save. Other then that, Toronto failed to really challenge Anderson. You could see the flow of play from Toronto slow down without Kaberle.
  2. Ughhh. Watching Komisarek and Lebda playing together is torture. I miss Kaberle already!
  3. I always thought Johnson was going to be the next Pronger. He was first overall in the 2006 draft and although he hadn't reached his potential yet, that freak injury a few years ago probably delayed his progress. I can still see him getting better.
  4. Why would the Blues trade Erik Johnson?
  5. Kaberle in a Bruins jersey just looks wrong.
  6. I'm sad to see Kaberle leave. He has been one of the best defencemen in Leafs franchise history. Only Borje Salming put up better numbers. Colborne is a good project, and it will fun to see what he does with the Marlies. The first round pick will be low like the Philly pick, but it is still a first round pick. I think the Leafs staff did good last year without a first rounder, and this time they might pick twice. Burke could also flip the picks to move up or pick up a player.
  7. New video for 2K. Looks like it has better animations then last year, for sure.
  8. Big game tonight going forward. A win and a little luck, and Toronto is 6 points back. That is not an impossible number; just look at Calgary this year.
  9. I've been hearing a lot of good things about both franchises this year. 360 owners might actually get a good baseball game this year!
  10. Grabovski just scored his second goal of the night, and it was awesome. Leafs win, Reimer made some big saves, and Phil Kessel got the monkey off his back and scored two goals.
  11. Yup! Three team trade! LA gets Brett Lebda, Dallas gets Jeff Finger, and Toronto gets Brayden Schenn and Brad Richards!
  12. I liked Versteeg, but I think his salary was a little high and he was playing on the third line. He will be good player for Philly. A late first round pick is still a first round pick - something we Leafs fans rarely get to see. I think Burke, Nonis, and the Leafs scouts did great work to get value out of last year's draft, and I have faith they will do the same this year. Plus, this pick could be used in a trade to get someone else.
  13. When I played Franchise as the Heat, I really wanted to trade Bosh. I had to replace almost all of my role players, but I had almost no money and Bosh was not worth his contract. Still, I did win the NBA Championship by sweeping the Thunder in my first season.
  14. Screw that. Kessel is a pure goal scorer. His cold streak will end. He is generated three or four real quality scoring chances a night. In the last two games, he created a goal with his speed and offensive instincts. I don't know how many times he has hit the post in the last 12 games, but it seems like he has done that at least once a game. When he finally cracks the streak, he will continue a season that was actually going well before this cold spell. Plus, Kessel is only 23 years old.
  15. In the end, I decided to stick with NHL 11. My computer is screwed up right. Doing anything other browsing the net is a pain.
  16. The 49ers should be calling the Eagles and Bengals right now. They only need a good QB to compete in their division. I think Kolb or Palmer would both be considered massive upgrades then the mess fron last season.
  17. I see Kaberle getting us a good forward prospect, a second line type forward, and a first or second round pick. People say "top line center", but.why would any team making a playoff run sacrifice a top line guy? If Burke had moved him before the season, maybe he gets good value. At this point, the best he could probably get is something similar to the Beauchemin trade. I also hear rumours of teams wanting Kris Versteeg.
  18. Quick poll...who thinks Kaberle is traded by the deadline?
  19. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=haSnf9K9iWs Yup. I remember listening to their CD so much that the CD broke.
  20. That roster update posted above, I cannot get to work. Anyone know of other updates or where I should look? I've done a Google search, but haven't come up with much.
  21. Anyone want to give me a copy of this game? I really wish I still had this on my computer. I would love to start doing a new game in the Cube or Dome or whatever it's called.
  22. James Reimer stood on his head last night and Keith Aulie was solid. The Leafs are 7 points back, so it is still unlikely, but if the TSN commentators can talk about New Jersey making the playoffs, then why not Toronto? I hope Reimer is not just a second or third string goaltender having a good run. He doesn't give out massive rebounds and looks to be in the right position on most plays. Unlike Gustavsson, he doesn't overplay the puck. Most importantly, he is the first Leafs goaltender since the lockout who doesn't give up massive amounts of goals between the legs or under the armpit.
  23. Mike Fisher is going to Nashville for a 2011 first rounder and a 2012 second rounder. That is a really high price, if you ask me.
  24. It's not like you need a center, with Stastny and Duchene. Still, I have seen a player who cannot skate help a powerplay top the league when Jason Allison was a Maple Leaf.
  25. Colorado is going to have a tough go getting into the playoffs, and Forsberg is a complete X-factor. I have no idea how much he will bring to the table. If he has lost a step, then I see this as a final swan song. If he still has his hands and skill, then Foppa could give the Avs two or three more wins and push them over the edge.
