  1. I would have to assume that Vincent Lecavalier's agent has more than one client, no? This is also a very good point..... Lecavalier also still has a massive amount of money and term left on his contract. I'm not sure if he would be a great fit in Toronto.
  2. If need be, Grabbo would move to the wing. Still, the cost to get Lecavalier would be high.
  3. Sakic. Shanahan. Sundin. Roenick. Neidermayer. Blake. Chelios. Lindros. Bure. All possible names to enter the Hockey Hall of Fame next year. I think Sakic and Shanahan are locks, and Sundin has to go in. His numbers are among the best of all time, and he is easily one of the best European players ever.
  4. Who said you got to make the new thread?! This is absolutely unforgivable. I wonder whats going on with Stamkos. It's kinda crazy that the Lightning have not been able to get him signed. Either they have decided to try and lowball him, are considering a trade, or are under a serious internal budget issue. I would think you look at Stamkos and how he has played for the last two seasons, and then you give him the same deal as Ovechkin.
  5. I watched every Leafs game last season. Lebda was not good. He made bad decisions with the puck, and he did so with regularity. He is a good skater, but he always seemed to be out if position and chasing the puck. Playing with Komi didn't help, but even on the powerplay he was shakey. I do agree with you about talking to your average Leaf fan. We Canadians love to think we know hockey, but a lot of us know fuck all. My friend told me Schenn was useless a few months ago because he didn't put up 20 goals.
  6. No thank you. I hate Heatley.
  7. Franson could be a key guy in a year or two. Good move by Burke.
  8. I would love it if Kaberle came back. I wouldn't need to get a new Leafs jersey that way.
  9. Vokoun should be great for Washington, and even with Varlamov gone they have some depth in goal.
  10. I am cool with Connelly. He is a big upgrade at center, and is very good. Health is the issue. Salary is a little high, but for two years its a good risk. I like this better then Komisarek's deal.
  11. I am just a fan of Arnott. Also, I would rather see Arnott come here and watch Colborne and Kadri continue their growth instead of seeing Brooks Laich signed long term in free agency.
  12. Id like to see Arnott come to Toronto for a year if Burke cant land one of the big names through trade or free agency.
  13. To Toronto: Plubby Dragsy To Colorado: Brett Lebda Mr. Potato Head I am all for any trade that means less Lebda.
  14. Kessel deal is going to take another two or three years. Kessel is a great goal scorer. We will see if Seguin or Hamilton develop. With the Cup win, I'd actually say it worked for Boston. They needed the cap space more then they needed Phil Kessel, and now they are champions.
  15. Worse for Jeff Carter. His no movement clause was going to kick in next season for the remainder of his contract.
  16. I like the move made by Minnesota and San Jose. The Sharks had a ton of depth, so they could afford to lose Setogutchi. Now they have added a very good defender with a rocket shot. Minnesota gets Setogutchi, San Jose's 1st rounder (Zack Phillips) and 2nd, plus San Jose's first from last season (Charlie Coyle). The Wild are rebuilding, and this adds to their prospect pool while also giving them a good offensive player who is still growing.
  17. I am not a fan of that pick. He could develop, but Toronto needs skill. Still, Percy is a good pick and getting Liles should improve the team next season. I am still unsure about our #1 center, but there is still time for Burke to pick up Stamkos for Colton Orr Also, what the hell, Florida? Why take on Brian Campbell's monster deal, and get nothing else in return?
  18. I like the move. Liles is the puck mover we need, and he can be teamed with Schenn or Aulie to have a defensive defender with him. The price isn't bad either. It's a 2nd rounder in next years draft. Still want a good center, but this move adds to our depth on the back end and plugs a glaring hole. The powerplay was dreadful last season.
  19. Max money/LTIR glitches? Which are those? At the start of the game, default database, you can get him for pretty cheap. As the Leafs, you can trade Raycroft for him straight up. I've gotten Raycroft to win 50 games for me using the default database.
  20. I disagree. I believe Erik Johnson is going to be a top level NHL defenceman in the near future. Stewart is good too, but I think Johnson will be better. Also... That is from TSN. I guessed earlier that they might do that. I have no idea what the team name is going to be.
  21. I actually think Colorado got the better player in the deal with St. Louis.
  22. The Stastny rumours have been there for a while now. I would be ecstatic if he joined the Leafs. I just don't understand why Colorado would move him. He is still young enough to be part of the rebuild. Unless an offer blew me away, I would keep him if I was the GM in Colorado. If Burke can get Stastny, I would be happy. Heck, even a cheaper option like Stephen Weiss would be an upgrade for us. Even getting a veteran like Jason Arnott on a one year deal would be an upgrade.
  23. I have a job.

  24. I agree. This could be a fun draft. I think it may not have a Crosby or Ovechkin at the top, but this draft class had depth. I think Calgary and Ottawa may try to pick up a few more picks.
