Already, starting game one of my season against the Devils! One minute in...BACKSTROM GOES TOP CORNER!

The NHL has had more lockouts since 1992 then any of the other major North American leagues (MLB, NFL, NBA). And sadly, I doubt this lockout will hurt the league at all, except in the immediate short term if games are missed. But how does this happen, again? On Friday, it was reported that both sides had a conversation on the phone or something? Thats it?! Shouldn't these two sides be locked away somewhere, hammering away at a deal into the wee hours of the morning?

I was going to offer a trade to someone, but I wanted to wait until today when the league was actually going to start. I don't think I want to trade with the CPU at all, just because it's too easy to dump draft picks to put up two or three solid players. I think if you need to make SIXTEEN trades though, you should probably have just been a team you like better. I would turn down both of the trades you highlighted if I was GM of the other teams involved. Phoenix doesn't need a player like Kyle Clifford. They have guys like that on their roster already. The second trade is more reasonable, but only if the player LA is offering has 3 stars of potential or more. Oh, the trade I was working on was going to offer a defenceman to Ruki for a winger like Clarke MacArthur. Thinking about it more though, the only defencemen I'm willing to part with are Roman Hamrlik or Tom Poti, and I am not sure if either of those guys get the deal done. If anyone wants Roman Hamrlik, offer me a trade! I am looking for a second line forward.

Just watched Cinema Snob's review of Sleepaway Camp. Pretty funny, especially his reaction to the ending of the movie.

I would say same as we have for the Madden league. Any trades should be posted in the thread for review. Gimme about a half hour and any requests will have been accepted. Probably looking to roll tomorrow or Monday evening. Sweet, sounds good!

When you go into a game, you first choose teams, then jerseys, then it should let you switch your aim and change difficulty.

2 games into my rookie season, and I have one goal and 5 assists. Boo yeah! Definitely helps when you win most of your faceoffs.

I love the net cam replay when the net gets knocked loose. Such an awesome little touch.

The half boards means the area near the face off dots along the boards. I play as a centre, all I do on most powerplays is win the draw then go to the front of the net for a screen or tip ins. Offsides means you can't enter the offensive zone before the puck.

My vagina bleeds when I don't score goals too. Anyway...looks like my coach actually made a good call. After one period against Montreal, we are up 3-0. I've got two good assists already, and I think I have good chemistry with my line mates.

I'm not big into BAP, but I am a two way centre. Got drafted first by the Sens, and it looks like I have a spot on the big club after the preseason. The only annoying thing - they traded Alfredsson during the preseason. What the heck, Sens? Wow, I'm guessing that Coach MacLean is trying to get fired. He has me on the first line between Michalek and Latendresse, and Spezza centering line two. What the heck?

I'll play tonight too. I might want to play with my roster for a bit, but I'll play. Scratch that - still haven't been accepted into the league yet. Whenever that happens, I'll play. I don't have any plans tonight so I'll be home late.

I played some Be A Pro. Still not a big fan, although playing in the OHL for a few games is fun.

I also like that you can play the computer a ton to get pucks, upgrade your team, and take that same team online. Cool, I signed up as Washington. Now I am just waiting for the league to approve my request!

I think Bonnar v Silva could be fun. I would just love it if somehow Bonnar was able to win. Just like Rocky. Silva's team doesn't take the fight seriously, while Bonnar uses old school methods and trains as if his life depended on him winning the fight. Then, both go back and forth for 5 rounds throwing haymaker after haymaker while all of Philadelphia cheers Bonnar on!

A shorter season I think would be best as it would allow us to take a day or two to get games played.

The roster update available now is decent. Moves Nash to New York and stuff.

I sprung for the "Stanley Cup" edition of the game. If I had known it was only giving me some HUT extras, I would have stuck with the original version of the game. The Leafs I got to start are Frattin, Ashton, Rosehill, Mike Komisarek and Jake Gardiner. I might have one or two more, but they aren't on my current roster. My second line is Benoit Pouliot, Jarrett Stoll and Steve Sullivan with Brayden Coburn and Voynov from LA on defence.

Actually, it gave me Carton Ashton and Matt Frattin. In Be A GM, both are rated low 70's, but in HUT, they are in the low 80s. Combined with LA Kings era Wayne Gretzky between them at centre, and I have a very dangerous top line out of the gate.

Didn't an ECHL team offer a contract to Kris Humphries when he divorced Kim Kardashian? Minor league hockey is awesome.

Faceoffs are completely different, and I think they are harder. It feels like unless I am using a really good faceoff player, I'm going to lose.
