    I think the only way O'Reilly for Kessel works is if O'Reilly signs an extension first. I think that would be a good swap, though.

    You almost gave me a heart attack. I think Kessel with get a first round pick, a second round pick next season, a roster player (for salary, probably not someone too worthwhile), and a prospect. Not a Barkov or Jones, but a good prospect like the Leafs got from Nashville.

    The Leafs have sent Cody Franson and Mike Santorelli to Nashville for their 1st round pick, Olli Jokinen, and prospect Brendan Leipsic. Jokinen is just to match salary, so whatever. A first is what I expected for Franson. I don't know anything about the prospect. The Leafs might have been able to get a little more value, but it's good to see them start moving pieces and collecting assets for the future.

    I don't think either of those trades would work, but that's the kind of return I hope for in a Kessel deal. To the Islanders for Strome, a pick, and prospects would be good.

    The Sabres had three first round picks for this draft. Winnipeg gets whichever one ends up as the latest. So probably a pick in the 20s.

    I doubt it's their pick. It could be New York's or Minnesota's. I'm not entirely sure who's picks they own right now. Also, TSN doesn't mention the pick - I saw that elsewhere. So take that part with a grain of salt.

    Reports have Kane and Bogosian going to Buffalo for Myers and a bunch of other pieces, including a possible 1st round pick.

    His contract isn't ideal, but I think Evander is a solid player. I'd want him on my team.

    Both of those guys are in their mid seventies in my games. I decided to start a new game with the Falcons. Skipped year one, and the team went 5-11. I let a lot of the veterans go, including Steven Jackson and Roddy White. I never saw a defence this bad - only Marcus Trufant was above an 82 overall. I had work to do. I was very aggressive in free agency, improving the offensive line with Stefan Wisniewski and Logan Mankins. I added Crabtree and Torrey Smith at WR, and Brent Celek at TE on a cheap one year deal. I missed on my running back choices though, but was able to get Jonathan Dwyer in the preseason on a one year deal. This wasn't going to be a run heavy team anyways. On defence I was able to trade for Chris Borland, who developed to be 85 overall. I also signed AJ Hawk for depth at MLB. At corner, I added to guys in the mid 80s. But I wasn't able to bring in any one big. I forgot to scout at all, but still was able to get a 80 overall, superstar development RE with my 6th overall pick. Some lucky later round picks, and development of my young players, means my defence in much better. It's still not ideal, but it should at least get a few stops.

    I hate signing guys on free transfers. I get excited to see them on the team, but have the remaining months of the season to play out.

    Two years into a Oakland franchise, and starting year 3 I've got a pretty good team...except at QB, where Carr has failed to really develop, and the other QB I drafted was 75 overall to start but had slow development. I looked around the league, and the Cowboys had drafted and developed a guy to replace Romo. Romo was still 84 overall though, and I had tons of cap space. I wanted Romo. Too bad he had suffered a back injury taking him out for 23 weeks! I had drafted really well and had a terrific offensive line, good receivers and running backs, and a stellar defence. But I just don't want to move forward with Carr. The only QB I can really make a move for is Matt Barkely, but he doesn't have much arm strength and will still cost a 2nd round pick.

    I think the TFC one is okay. Preferred last years, but this one isn't offensive or anything.

    I wouldn't trade JVR. He is still young enough, along with Kadri, to be part of the next core of the team. Kessel, I'm not sure. Phaneuf, I think, is stuck here for awhile. Not sure if many teams want that contract.

    If I'm the GM of the Leafs, I trade away Franson, Winnik, and Santorelli, and anyone else I can move for picks. Then, at the draft, if we don't have a top 5 pick, we use some of the assets we got for those players and move up.

    I think if the Leafs can get McDavid, Eichel or Strome in the draft, I'll be happy.
