I felt this way too. I don't know if it was the change to the combat, or just the story being less fun. I just liked the Stick Of Truth better.

I'm only 8 games into the season, but power hitting is a definite issue. In 8 games, we've hit 4 doubles and 1 home run. I've had a few games were I've had double-digit hits, but only scored 2 or 3 runs. I'm hitting OK with Bell so far. I use quick counts usually, and his good discipline means I start in a good count most of the time. OBP is always important for me, and so far he's been pretty good at that.

I've just started a franchise as the Pirates. I intend to play at least one game per series, since I tend to usually get too excited for the offseason and sim ahead in most games. They are a strange team. They lack power and outside of Starling Marte, are just a collection of OK players with a few intriguing prospects mixed it. I was surprised to see just how "meh" Gregory Polanco is. Of course, in the first game, he went 3-4 with an RBI double and made 2 amazing catches late in the game to help secure the win.

Every time I try to tank in The Show, somehow my team ends up competing for the Wild Card - even after I trade away some of my best players. It happens almost without fail. I was playing with the A's and traded for Paul deJong at the deadline - and after 2 full seasons he has become the best hitting short stop in baseball. Possibly a top 5 hitter in the entire league.

I don't think the Jays were ever above .500 last season, so a 6-4 start is actually quite encouraging. If they can hover around that .500 mark for most of the year and be near the Wild Card race, I'll be happy.
-
It was so confusing. I turned off my TV when that inning was over.
-
So, really, the Jays should have thrown the ball home.
-
Me too. I had started a Jays franchise, but only played a handful of games and mostly simmed the season so I could check out the updates to the offseason. Once I get home from work, I'm going to download the rosters and start a franchise as the Oakland A's.
-
There are other rosters you can download right now. They are a little less detailed (especially concerning salary) but they do have the key prospects and free agents you'll need to start. I've started a game with the Tigers, and will switch to the Jays once the OSFM rosters are good to go.

There are certain little things I really enjoy in MLB 18. There used to be little "hitches" between animations, like when a player would make contact with the wall, or at the end of the an inning where the players would just stand there for half a second before leaving the field. Those hitches are mostly gone or at least minimized. The game just runs smoother. I wonder if it would be even better on a PS4 Pro.

Yeah. I get the sense that this Jays team is really going to need some good luck when it comes to injuries if they're going to contend for a playoff spot. If Happ, Estrada, Stroman, or Sanchez miss considerable time, it's going to really suck.

Sure, I'd be interested.

Got my copy today. Probably won't have a chance to actually play until tomorrow, but I'm excited. I even got a free pair of Blue Jays socks with the game!
-
I just went into my local GameStop and asked, and I was told it's releasing tomorrow with no pre-order necessary. I did it anyway, just to make sure I get a copy tomorrow.
-
Wait - so this is available now to download? I thought the release date was March 27th.

I have Boss Monster, and I find it a bit boring after a few play-throughs. The expansions might help with that, though. I find the base copy of Munchkin to be the same way, but with a few expansions it becomes really entertaining.

Now that we are probably 15 scenarios in... Gloomhaven is awesome. I highly recommend it. The legacy aspects of the game make it so fun.
-
I'm still going to get it. I always love the little details that change in-game.

Smart move by the Eagles. Keeping Foles is great insurance in case Wentz needs more time to recover, and they can always move him a few weeks into the season. They don't need to move Foles, so if someone wants him now they need to pay a high price.

I'd be OK with Buffalo taking a shot at Bridgewater with a short-term deal. I'd also be cool with Tyrod coming back, but I don't think that's going to happen.

I'm about 4 hours into Andromeda. Does it get better? So far, it's been kind of a slog. Not as gripping or fun as Dragon Age: Inquisition.
-
I'm excited. Honestly, I have enjoyed every version of this game since MLB 10 (maybe even 09). Even when they make minor changes, I've still felt like I got my money's worth from the game.

The Virtual Cabin was also added with the update, and it's jam-packed with trivia from the whole series. Worth checking out!

There are still some issues. One big one is that if the host leaves a game, it ends the game. The other is how long it can take to get into a game. Sometimes you wait almost 10 minutes, the host gets killed right away, and then everyone gets kicked. It's annoying.
