I just grabbed Sergei Samsonov for my fantasy team. He was undrafted, I saw that and felt like picking him up. If he has a breakout year, then I am in good shape. He is currently on the bench, though.

The sports titles are stripped down because they are completely new engines. They should have all the old features in next years title. And anyways, NHL 07 adds the skill stick and it makes the game fucking amazing. If you have XBOX Live, you can download a file from there that allows you to play. Out of the box, I think only a few games like Halo 2 are playable. Its something to do with the system being based on completely different software then the original XBOX.

I think I am ordering this. I do not see BJ Penn winning this fight. Sure, he beat Matt Hughes in there first fight. Hughes then had to shake off a stupid assumption that he was suddenly vulnerable to any and all submissions because of it, I think Matt Hughes is going to go into the fight with Penn looking to dominate. The only true blemish on Hughes's record came from a mistake he made against Penn, and I would not be surprised to see BJ Penn layed out in the first round, either through ground and pound or maybe even a rear naked choke.

What is up with the Buffalo Bills? Against the Patriots the defence played well and they only lost because of Losman's inexperience (an a great rush from the Patriots). This weekend, the Bills just sort of ran over Culpepper and the Dolphins, a team many picked were Super Bowl bound. I think the Bills defence has been stellar, and if JP Losman can continue to play without turning the ball over a lot and McGahee can continue to run, the Bills have a shot at a 8-8 record.

I am really tired of living in an area where, no matter what happens in the off-season and no matter who is on the team, almost every single fan of the team says that "we won't win it in my lifetime" because the team hasn't won it in 40 years. Fuck them, it's no fun to write of a team before the season begins. Hell, Edmonton finished 8th in the West (I think) and they were one game away from winning the Stanley Cup! I am so close to assaulting the next so called "Leafs fan" that tells me they won't win anything and will most likely miss the playoffs. Seriously, its ok when someone who likes Ottawa or Montreal says it. But when someone who is wearing a Leafs jersey says it because they are crusty, old and cynical, it pisses me right off. You have to support your team. I am saying all of this based on a conversation I had today. The other person didn't even know that Toronto was in the Eastern Conference, and told me Raycroft sucked before asking who Andrew Raycroft was.

So what? My NHL 07 is already out of date? I don't like when teams change there jerseys in a big way, like Buffalo has done. I like small revisions changing the team with the times. I liked the black uniform and I really liked the red third jersey with the crossed sabres. These new jerseys are just ugly, and now I wish even harder that we didn't have to face Buffalo like 8 times in the year.

When I told my brother we had signed Gilmour, my brother actually thought that he was going to play. That was funny.

The only good thing about Prey is listening to classic rock in the bar at the start of the game. Thats it. I would recommend Dead Rising, its really fun and easy to get in to.

Arrested Development I have never seen a show where every single character was great, until I saw Arrested Development. From season one, where Buster dates Lucille 2 and GOB "escapes" from prison all the way to "Mock Trail With Judge Reinhold" in season three, it's all great.

For XBOX, NHL 2K7 is just NHL 2K6 with a roster update. One game, and I am already bored. Even the commentary is exactly the same. Graphics are the same. The presentation is the only change, but it's still kind of lame. Really, if you enjoyed 2K6 and need a roster update that badly, then buy 2K7. It's still a good game, but if you want something even a tiny bit different, look elsewhere. I haven't played the XBOX version of NHL 07, just the 360 version.

I got the offensive defencemen I wanted, plus Jason Spezza who many predict could top the league in points. I have Lidstron, McCabe, Zidlicky, Kenny Johnsson (a gamble, but he will be running the Wild's PP). I just lack a goalie. EDIT - And where the fuck is the Stajan talk? He was resigned to a 2 year deal worth 1.75 million! COME ON GUYS, you missed the ball on this one.

I like Koivu. Well he isn't a big goal scorer, he gets 60-70 points regularly and, as seen in the playoffs, he is a leader. I hope Koivu can come back and play, but only if it does not interfere with his health.

I was a huge fan of BSG, but kind of forgot about it over the summer. Now, watching that, I can't wait for it to come back.

Since I don't live anywhere that has a team (being Canadian, afterall), my favorite teams are Buffalo and the New York Football Giants. The Giants look great. Eli Manning showed his stuff last year and will most likely improve on his good numbers. Tiki Barber has always been a great threat on the ground and through the air. Plexico Burress and Amani Toomer are both top flight recievers, and add in Sinorice Moss or Jeremy Shockey and most teams will find it too difficult to cover anyone. Plus, the Giants defence isn't porous and looks like a unit that could really do some damage to the other teams offence. I would be shocked to see them miss the playoffs. The Bills are going to suck again. Willis Magahee is the only big offensive weapon, he is a really great runner. But with Moulds gone, the only top tier wide reciever is Lee Evans. I would be surprised to see JP Losman ready to be the full time starter, and Kelly Holcombe is just not a true starter on any other team. Defence is the only saving grace for the Bills, but they have lost some people. Look to Takeo and Fletcher to have big impacts on close games, but without an offence I do not think the Bills have a shot.

We can't take Mogilny either with the cap, thats why he is gone. I liked him too, because he made our first line so fucking killer in the video games.

I know I have never hailed Stajan as a god, but he is a great young player and, in the days of the salary cap, you have to keep your young talent instead of buying the already seasoned veterans. Oh how I wish we could just go out and get Brian Leetch, Alexander Mogilny, Gary Roberts, Joe Nieuwendyk and Owen Nolan. Those were the days.....
