  1. Not director commentaries, but I have listened to commentaries with the cast. 40 Year Old Virgin has a very funny commentary track.
  2. Oh well, the Clippers would have had Brand and Davis and still found a way to lose. It is the Clipper way.
  3. This whole thing with Alexander Radulov is confusing and stupid. From what I hear, the deal does not only break the "handshake" agreement the NHL and European Leagues recently announced, but it also breaks rules set by the KHL (the league that Radulov would be going to) and in the end, the contract Radulov signed may just be voided by the commissioner of that league. This whole situation sucks for Nashville. They either lose a highly touted prospect who was showing some serious skills or they keep a player who just wants to leave when his contract expires.
  4. A verbal agreement is not binding though, and Elton Brand made the decision that he thought would benefit himself and his family the most.
  5. They need some people to play with him. I am not that up-to-date with everyone on the Canucks, but I know they lack scoring wingers. They only need a mediocre scorer to play with the Sedin twins (like Anson Carter a few seasons back) but I can't really name off the top of my head anyone on that team that could play with Demitra except Kesler, and I don't know if he is that good of a scorer yet. EDIT - Kesler scored 21 goals last year. He is on his way. And they just acquired Steve Bernier - he is a bit slow on his skates but can score so he could also be an option. Kyle Wellwood is with Vancouver, but unless he starts training with Gary Roberts, I don't see him doing any more then he did here with the Leafs last season.
  6. Mason did put a whooping on the Raptors except for the game I saw in person where the Raptors just crushed the Wizards. I like the move to get Jermaine O'Neal and I think Toronto has improved their roster. Jose Calderon has shown himself capable of being the starting point guard, and the main weakness of the Raptors (rebounding and interior defence) has been improved with the addition of O'Neal. I actually want to buy tickets to see the Raptors play (the game I saw was a special deal from my college) and think they have a good chance of having an impact in the postseason, unlike last year where they fizzled against the Magic.
  7. I hated Hostel, and I actually laughed when that happened because I thought it looked too fake.
  8. Can we trade our starting lineup excluding Roy Halladay for the Rays starting lineup?
  9. Burnett has a bad contract though where whomever gets him won't know if they are stuck with him for next year or not. Plus, Burnett has been a .500 pitcher. Is there a market out there for a .500 pitcher?
  10. Demitra works, but he is a center right? Is he going to be the second line center? Who will be his linemates? He is an upgrade on Morrison, that is for sure.
  11. I am surprised that Emery didn't sign with a team here in the NHL. I am sure there were some offers, but the money is good for Emery in Eastern Europe so he made his decision to leave the league.
  12. They opened Sportscentre with the song, and it made me feel angry. It just feels so wrong. What was wrong with what they did before? I loved TSN's hockey coverage last season. I don't see having this song as something that will draw in a million more viewers for them or something.
  13. The song is not "The Hockey Theme", its the "Hockey Night In Canada" song. It is not going to be right hearing it on another night on TSN.
  14. Ron Wilson is the Leafs new coach and Maxim Lapierre has signed a two year deal with the Montreal Canadiens.
  15. ...well, I did go from watching Andrew Raycroft making all the starts to Vesa Toskala. Still, I think that Toskala was exposed to a lot of bad situations by a weak defence in front of him and actually did well most of the time. That bouncing shot against the Islanders was funny though.
  16. Hossa should know that Pittsburgh is the right fit for him - he was excellent for them. Responding to Basha, people do overhype Stajan and Wellwood. Matt Stajan won't ever be the top or even second line centre. He has found his niche as a third line center that can chip in and can also fill in on the second unit when injuries arise. He won't be a star, but he is a solid NHLer. Wellwood doesn't look like he can play at the NHL level to me. He was great in 2006/07, but this season he stunk. Quotes came out FROM HIM about not wanting to work out and get in shape, and he just never showed that flair that he did before his injury. Nikolai Kulemin is coming for 2008/09, and while he should play in the AHL for a year, he will probably get time with the Leafs. Probably our best prospect along with Pogge, Kulemin projects to be a second line scoring power forward. The only other young guys I can think of right now that have some upside are Stralman and Steen. Anton Stralman has looked fantastic in international play, and he just needs to add a little size and defensive presence to be a really good defenceman for us. Steen, I have no clue what he is going to be. Will he be a checker? A scorer? I can't figure him out. Vesa Toskala will be an impact player for the Leafs. I think he is one of the best goaltenders in the Eastern Conference. I would cringe any time someone took a shot at Raycroft - and that was when he won 37 games and I liked him. Toskala, on most nights, makes me feel secure. He actually stole a few games, which has been a rare thing coming from a Toronto goaltender since the lockout. I don't know why I am talking about Vesa Toskala...

    Pork & Beans

I got the CD. I'd rank it anywhere from "dissapointing" to "average". Nothing really stands out for me.
  18. My only hope for the Leafs in the summer is to draft smart and keep Mats Sundin. Without Mats, I may not have a reason to watch every game like I usually do. I hear that Pavel Kubina will be moved this summer. Some buyouts may also be coming. I would keep Jason Blake and hope he could turn it around. If he had shot his career average shooting percentage last year, he would have scored 30 or more goals.
  19. I know whats worse. Driving on the highway, looking over, and seeing that the car next to you is being driven by an old asian woman. That is like suicide!
  20. I would tell her to screw off. I don't wanna get any stains on my precious, precious jerseys!
  21. I always hate it when the team wins it on the road. Of course, if Toronto did it, I wouldn't mind... Hossa looked absolutely devastated right after the game ended, sitting on the ice. I was sad for him.
  22. Now we can get rid of that stupid bullshit about European players being poor leaders...
  23. He writes some decent articles, but almost anything Simmons writes about the inner workings of the Leafs and their players is major bullshit. The Sundin thing from last year was a huge, headline article too. And it was immediately called bullshit.
  24. Ughhh. This whole Mats Sundin business is bugging the shit out of me. He is my favourite player and I really want him to return to the Leafs. But I don't need to be bombarded every day with "will he, won't he" garbage. Let's wait until he makes his decision on retiring before saying he is going to Detroit or Ottawa or something. Or wait for Steve Simmons to write an article saying Sundin's hip is fucked and he can't play ever again, like last summer.
