  1. Another 2 goals from Hagman and 2 from Kessel as the Leafs outlast the Panthers 6-4.
  2. ...unless another GM gets a boner for him and offers Burke something amazing. I think, with the length remaining on his deal, he could be an important piece in the Leafs competing for the playoffs in the next two seasons.
  3. Toskala kept us in the Chicago game and was good against Washington. Against the Islanders, he allowed three goals on three consecutive shots before pulling himself from the game. Gustavsson has not allowed weak goals on a consistant basis while Toskala has. I don't know if you watch the games, but the amount of times Toskala is beat by wrist shots over the glove would make you cringe. Our defence has been improving since the first week of the season and Toskala has been able to take advantage of that in his recent starts. I would not say Toskala has been bailing them out. Over the last 3 or 4 Toskala has been a bit better, but he has not been good enough to instill confidence in me. Coming into this season, I was rooting for Toskala to come back. Last year I said he was one of the better goaltenders in the East. However, Toskala has not improved his numbers from last year and has played himself out of a starting spot. The Leafs started to gain points AFTER Toskala was hurt and Gustavsson replaced him. I've updated my blog, this time talking about Nik Hagman.
  4. Niklas Hagman was impressive. He is having a fantastic season and with his contract, he could easily net Burke and the Leafs a nice little haul. I didn't think so at the time, but Cliff Fletcher made a smart move picking him up. Now if Jeff Finger would live up to his deal... It was also good to see our goaltending not cause us to lose. Gustavsson was not at his best, but unlike Toskala, he was able to play good enough to give us the win.
  5. I liked that I managed to get the Spitter achievement in my first time using the Spitter. If the lag problems were sorted out, I would be playing L4D2 every night.
  6. When I was at home, we had all three systems. The PS3 and XBOX got used a lot, but the Wii was not touched for months at a time. Almost exactly like Hammy said, except change bowling to Mario Kart. I love my PS3. My favourite games are the sport titles, so they are on all the consoles. MLB 09 was exclusive and awesome. I actually am not a fan of Resistance and Killzone, but I did enjoy MSG and Uncharted. I also like having a Blu-Ray player. Star Trek looks as good as it did in theatre and the new Indiana Jone movie also looks very good. I am actually going to start collecting Blu-Ray movies, which is something I did not think I would ever do a year ago. fan-dabi-dozi.
  7. That was pretty awesome to see. Toskala and John Mitchell have been placed on IR. Joey Mac and Christian Hanson have been called up from the AHL. I've updated my blog with my opinion on Christian Hanson coming up. I hope they give him the chance to excel and don't use him as a 4th line player.
  8. It was not that fan-dabi-dozi.
  9. Bwahaha! Once again, Toronto outplays a team and fails to come away with the points. Dwayne Roloson faced more the 60 shots and yet, the Islanders still won. Except for a lapse in the second period, Toronto dominated. This is just a horrible season to be a fan of this team. They play poorly and they lose. They play well and they lose. No matter what happens during the course of the game, they find a way to lose.
  10. The Raptors are consistant in their offence but not in their defence. They continue to be one of the more powerful offensive teams in the NBA, but they fail to put in a decent defensive effort at times and this has led to them going 6-8 out of the gates. When Reggie Evans returns, hopefully he can add some energy and grit to the team. With a better defensive effort, the Raptors could easily be 8-6 or better. They score at will at times, and with the weapons they have, they always have at least two good offensive weapons on the floor.
  11. If Toronto could get Sharp, that would be fan-dabi-dozi. He would be a good compliment to Kessel. However, the Blackhawks need him because scoring depth is key in the playoffs. They can afford to lose Sopel and suffer no ill effects.
  12. I can only do it when I have the auto-shotgun though.
  13. Well, that was unexpected. Seeing Toronto win in a shootout - especially with Toskala is goal - is always a bit of a shocker. The lack of skill up front is really showing. Toronto had long stretches of possession, but constantly shot into blocks or missed the net completely.
  14. I saw the helicopter and booked it. I couldn't wait for slow pokes!
  15. I love that I still have the urge to play MLB 09: The Show, even though the baseball season is over and I've had the game for a long time now.
  16. When I look at the people on the team, I do not see a team with only 3 wins. Yes, the team lacks talented forwards after Kessel and arguably Grabovski, but the defence is good, the powerplay is good, and the goaltending is improved. This Leafs team might not be a playoff team, but it should not be sitting in dead last. I think some of the blame has to fall on the shoulders of Ron Wilson, and some also falls to Burke. The team did look good at times last season and managed to overachieve for small periods of time. This year, everything has fallen apart. After this many games, I think Wilson has failed to properly utilize his players.
  17. If anyone wants to play tonight, just pick a time. I should be free all night.
  18. I have never felt like the Leafs were actually this bad until right now.
  19. I'll try to play tomorrow with you guys, I am free from 5 to 10.
  20. Babylon 5. I highly recommend it to anyone. The first season is a bit tedious, but once the second season gets going, it is a fantastic show. Season 5 is below average but has some fan-dabi-dozi episodes in it and it really closes out the show in a proper way.
  21. Mmmmmm....Star Trek on Blu-Ray. 10/10 from me. I loved the movie in theatres, and the transition to Blu-Ray is spot on. I just wish I had a full blown surround sound system.
  22. I won't be able to play with you guys unless we play late tomorrow night. Tuesday is my busy day.
  23. The big hope going forward for this team is that, if large salaries like Toskala and Blake can be removed through trade or being sent down, Toronto can be active in free agency and add some good players. If you can add 4 useful players for the added salaries of Toskala and Burke, then the team will be better. I also think, looking forward, that Toronto has a good chance to finish this month on a good note and have a winning record for November.
  24. Fuck. Toskala is in net tonight.
