  1. I'm not 100% on that, but it is probably true. This team had an awful start because they couldn't score first, and I can't really remember any big comebacks.
  2. I had World Cup 94. That game was fun...but the one that I liked the most was...
  3. Jonas Gustavvson is looking like a REAL NHL calibre goaltender. He has just won his seventh in a row (the first Leaf since Belfour to do it) and he is looking more calm and steady in goal. His time with Allaire is helping, and I think it is also good for him to be sharing time with Giggy. Leafs win another game against a team trying to mount a late playoff charge. I think the teams play since the Olympic break and the trade deadline has said a lot about what "changing the culture" can do for a team. If you look at the Leafs roster from before Burke arrived and look at it now, I think only Kaberle remains (outside of some of the younger guys like Schenn and Mitchell). Suddenly, the team is WINNING in overtime instead of giving up, and the team is just more competitive.
  4. I don't know why the Bills would even want him right now. They need to use this season to find out if Trent Edwards is their guy and if not, start working on their next quarterback. Bringing in McNabb would be a move similar to bringing in TO - a move designed to sell tickets. I've read that the Bills are possibly moving Marshawn Lynch. He has had some personal problems and Fred Jackson took his position away.
  5. I just read about Brian McCann hitting two homers in a game a few days ago in Spring Training. I turned on my PS3 and did the same thing with McCann and beat the Padres 7-4.
  6. I've considered checking out tickets for the Jays opener. Could be fun. AL East - Yankees AL Central - Twins AL West - Angels Wild Card - Tampa Bay NL East - Braves NL Central - Cardinals NL West - Dodgers Wild Card - Phillies
  7. Went back to playing as the Braves. They are my favourite team (after Toronto), so I felt bad for using the Mets. Anyways, Chipper is the man. I'm facing the Cubs and it is a pitchers duel. Zambrano is striking out everyone, while Derek Lowe is keeping the shutout going but really struggling - he lost confidence in the sinker and I had to use the change-up way too often. Its in the sixth and Yunel Escobar gets a crappy single through the infield. One simple bunt moves him over and then Chipper walks up. Usually I try to work the count a bit, but this time I got my pitch, a fastball away, and smashed it into the corner to break the deadlock. Next inning, Derek Lowe helps himself out with a bloop RBI single to center. After Zambrano left, it was easy and I added 3 more runs with Chipper picking up a second RBI. I really am seeing an improvement in my ability to hit, and its making the game more and more enjoyable.
  8. I think its a brilliant idea. I don't think it will be massive or anything, but I think that it will make some money. Some people are that desperate, while a lot of people will probably try it once or twice for a laugh.
  9. If they can get rid of Redden's monster contract and add one or two pieces to compliment Gaborik, I think the Rangers will be good. They have Lundqvist, some good young defencemen, and Gaborik is one of the best offensive players in the league.
  10. Kind of a poor way to start, although I do think it was a fair stoppage. It seemed like Alessio was getting the better of the striking, then he landed that punch right to the eye of Irvin. Since it wasn't a poke, there was no reason for the referee to stop the action except to protect Irvin from eating punches on the ground.
  11. One reason why I enjoyed the first game so much was it's length. It didn't feel like it was too short or too long. It just felt like it was the perfect length. I do have faith that Valve can make this game longer and still keep it fun.
  12. I didn't think the referees were bad in the game. They were obviously letting some of the smaller stuff go. It just so happened that it was our team doing the high-sticking and tripping - the obvious calls. There were a lot of marginal hits on both sides that the refs let go. I think Montreal came in a little flat and only really started playing hard in the final period. Halak and Gustavvson both looked good, and it came to a shoot-out so it was a very close one for both teams. Habs fans have to cringe to see their team drop that extra point, but at least Philly also lost. Kessel and Bozak are on fire right now, and I think Dion Phaneuf had his best game as a Leaf.
  13. I actually felt like saying something very similar earlier.
  14. So...with the new season coming up, I figured it was time for a new thread. Here is my first question. Which team or teams do you think are going to surprise us this season? I think the Washington Nationals will be a much improved team. They won't be a division leader, but I could see them closing in on the .500 mark and surprising some teams. They don't have the best pitching staff, but I think their line-up continues to improve.
  15. I have no clue. I just went out and bought MLB 10 because I enjoyed 09 so much.
  16. I made a dumb trade with my Braves. Well, a smart trade, but it was unrealistic as I don't think the Padres would move Adrian Gonzalez one week into the season for one pitching prospect... Anyways, I restarted and am now the Mets. First game sees me blast two home runs with Jason Bay. Welcome to New York!
  17. Hey, we traded away Toskala!
  18. I'll think of something to write about. Could be fun!
  19. I always guess fastball high unless I see my batters hot zone is inside or something. I'm also better at reading the pitch when my batter is hitting from the left side of the plate. I am getting a bunch of walks with Melky Cabrera for some reason.
  20. I believe on the show, he had some heart issues pop up. It may have been complications with that.
  21. How dare you question my stereotyping old asian women as poor drivers!
  22. The key to hitting, to me, is patience. Until there are 2 strikes against me, I will not swing unless I both guess the pitch type and the location. Also, it helps to turn down CPU strike frequency in the sliders. It makes the pitch counts more realistic.
  23. I loved the trench gun in Call of Duty 2 online. I played with a group that used a realism mod, and it was just a devastating weapon on almost all maps.
  24. I've changed from the Jays to the Braves. It's so much fun playing with Chipper Jones. I seem to constantly go 3-4 with at least one extra base hit. If I didn't sim games along the way, he would be the league leader. He doesn't get a ton of RBI's because the guy I have in front of him - Nate McClouth - keeps clearing the bases before Chipper can get to the plate.

    NHL '10/2k10

The game needs restricted free agents. I've always forgot to mention it, but it keeps bugging me.
