  1. I actually want the Canucks to win the Cup. Not because they are a Canadian team or anything like that, but because they have been in the league for so long and deserve to win it now. They need to get to the Western Conference Finals at the very least. If I was to pick which team has the worst fans in the entire NHL, I'd probably go with my Toronto Maple Leafs. Listening to people call in to sports radio shows about the Leafs can make you go crazy.
  2. Replays on penalty calls? No thanks. The referees do make mistakes sometimes, but they get it right the majority of the time and we do not need more breaks in the game for when someone thinks a call is right and someone else thinks it is wrong. Holmstrom is a good veteran player who managed to draw a penalty. Instead of looking at it as a missed call by the referees, we should be looking at it as a smart, savvy play by a veteran player.
  3. http://jimjatho.com/2009/12/18/nhl-goaltenders-staring-at-ice-girls That whole blog post is awesome.
  4. PK Subban has been called up by the Canadiens.
  5. Awesome night for me, baseball wise, as my two favourite teams (Atlanta and Toronto) both pick up wins. The Atlanta victory is especially fun, since they have only had offensive in spurts...and they definitely got some offence in the ninth and tenth inning. Nate's walk-off homer was awesome, as was the team's reaction to it. A homer and two doubles for Vernon. He continues his awesome start to the season.
  6. Deadliest Warrior: The Game? Ohhhhh yeah!
  7. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20100420&content_id=9437824&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb It's on MLB.com now too.
  8. It's the same with the Jays and Travis Snider. Bring him up and take the pressure off by letting him play through his mistakes and work on his game at the major league level.
  9. MAKE THE MATCH, STRIKEFORCE! Mayhem vs. Spencer Pratt!
  10. I really want Montreal to at least go seven games in this series.
  11. Yes. It's not like the team was going to make the playoffs considering we have an ace, a closer and nothing in between as far as pitching goes. Daniel Murphy isn't the longterm answer at first base, and neither was Mike Jacobs. If you're going to have another losing season you may as well give the "kids" like Davis, Tejada and Mejia their first big league experience now so you can see if they're going to be part of the team next year, or if they need more time in the minors. It's only April 19th and it's already time to think about unloading veterans and retooling in the offseason since Manuel and Minaya will be gone long before the 4th of July and the Mets will be all but mathematically eliminated by then as well. I agree on calling up Ike Davis. I would like to see them call up Tejada and put him at 2B too and see if you get a bullpen arm for Castillo. I like Tejada a lot for some reason. I know he's off to a slow start in AAA but watching him you get the sense that he will be a decent major leaguer. I don't understand why the Mets have Parnell in AAA. He should be up in the majors right now or at the very least starting in AAA. Mejia should be in AAA starting right now so they can call him up as a starting pitcher in May or so. I'm never going to call anyone out after 12 games but yeah, they needed to do something to energize the fan base. As I have mentioned before I am not a Mets fan but I like rooting for them just because how much I hate the Yankees and their fans. Davis, Wright, Reyes, F-Mart has the potential to be a very good nucleus for the next 8 years. ...and Jason Bay! Your stuck with him for awhile!
  12. I'm just passed the All-Star Game. Only one Brave went to the game with Martin Prado hitting above .330 with 10 HRs and over 50 RBIs. Chipper, Glaus, McCann, McClouth, and Matt Diaz all JUST missed making it. Yunel Escobar missed out, but only because he was terrible in April. Since then, he has been on fire. Tommy Hanson and Derek Lowe almost made it too. My Braves have the highest team batting average and 4 players with 19 or more home runs. The only players struggling are Tim Hudson (although he has rebounded with a complete game shut out recently), Kenshin Kawakami, and Melky Cabrera. Everyone else is just crushing it. I'm three games up on Philly and am thinking of making a move to replace Melky with someone else in left field. I'm thinking of making a run at Carl Crawford, since I still lack a true speed threat (although I like Yunel Escobar as my lead off man right now). If not Crawford, then I'd probably just stick with batting Melky 8th. Right now, my regular batting order is: Yunel Escobar Martin Prado Chipper Jones Brian McCann Troy Glaus Nate McClouth Matt Diaz Melky Cabrera Pitcher/Omar Infante VS. AL Brian McCann is pure win. Even when he goes 1-12 in a series, that one hit is a three run homer or something. He has struggled with his average, but when he touches the ball he really smashes it.
  13. And then they cut away, came back, and Miller had 6 people kicking him.
  14. So Toronto should lose their team, but Tampa keeps theirs? I know I am not that excited to go to a Jays game after hearing "rebuild" and stuff over and over before the season...although I was dragged to tonight's game.
  15. The Leafs have locked up Gustavsson for 2 years at $1.35 million. "The Monster" had a good rookie year for the Leafs and his second half was awesome. I remember hearing talk of him wanting $2-3 million, so the Leafs got a good deal. http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=318119
  16. Good move by the Broncos to remove a distraction and a player who didn't want to be there anymore. They got value for him too, since second round picks can be very good in the NFL.
  17. I just like Kessel now because he is an exciting player to watch. Even when he doesn't score, he is creating scoring chances. Once we get a little more depth and take some of the pressure off of him, I think he will be an even better player for us. Plus, he is still very young. I'm going to be very interested to see where the pick next year lands. If it is top five, then I will be worried.
  18. First pick overall goes to Edmonton and #2 goes to Boston (via Toronto).
  19. It was a great performance from Romero. He was really using all of his pitches and worked very quickly. The only mistake he made was hit out of the park by Rios, but in his two starts Romero has been excellent.
  20. That goal by Daniel Sedin was awesome. Both the pass from Henrik and the move to beat Kipper. Just an amazing play by the Sedins.
  21. I think it's pretty awesome that Crosby scored 51. I had already had him pegged as a Joe Thornton style set up man, so to see him break out and score 51 is awesome. I hate Crosby, but only because he plays for a team other then the Leafs.
  22. LEAFS WIN IT IN OVERTIME!!!! I actually came in here to post that Steven Stamkos scored his 50th goal. He is the third youngest to ever score 50 and I think he has really quickly become one of the best snipers in the game today. He is entertaining to watch and I hope he can have the same level of success next year.
  23. Good thing I decided to read the spoilers...this main event just sounds terrible. I don't want to see Anderson Silva pulling this shit. At least I didn't waste my money on this event.
