  1. I think $3 million per year is a bit much for Armstrong, but I do think he is a very good player to have on our third line. He can hit hard and get under your skin, and he does have some offensive skill since he did score 22 goals before and seems to always be around 15. The Leafs still need to move Kaberle to add another skilled player up front, and then maybe grab a defender for a decent price.
  2. Not a fan of this. Ottawa is rebuilding and they add a 36 year old defenceman? I like Gonchar and I think he will help their powerplay, but I don't think this was the best way for the Senators to use their money. I think they should have signed someone younger to a longer term deal. If this does help the Senators get to the playoffs, I guess it was worth it.
  3. I guess we should be posting news in here instead of the old thread so... Tampa Bay has moved Andrej Meszaros to the Flyers for a second round pick. This should give the Lightning some room to pick up players. I thought Meszaros had a ton of upside, but he kind of stalled out in Tampa. Hopefully, he can bounce back with a good Flyers team.
  4. Leafs have traded Stalberg, DiDomenico and Paradis to Chicago for Kris Versteeg and Bill Sweatt. http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=326203
  5. But thats for 2010/11. By 2011/12, Kaberle will have been traded to Pittsburgh for Malkin, Staal and all of their draft picks!
  6. I don't know how this loss effects Fedor and M-1. Does this loss destroy their bargaining power now? I still want to see Overeem vs. Fedor.
  7. 2011/12 is when the Leafs finally have a first round pick!

    NHL 11

I traded in NHL 10 recently to get FIFA, but now I wish I had kept NHL 10. It was awesome. One of the few times I've literally played every game in a season was in NHL 10.
  9. Yes. It's still technically their third jersey, but they have been wearing them more and more at home games. They are awesome looking jerseys.

    NHL 11

NHL 11 comes out in August, and news is already coming out about the game. I am really excited to see some of the new features and improvements. NHL 10 was great, so it won't take much to make NHL 11 another great addition to the EA line-up. One of the biggest new features is the addition of the CHL. Now you will be able to play as teams in the OHL, WHL, and QMJHL. This will be important for Be A Pro, where you will be able to develop your player as a prospect, and it will greatly improve the draft in the GM mode. Along with a new physics engine and a new hitting system that will greatly increase the types of hits, broken sticks and new quick dekes will make the game feel even more like real hockey. They have even added disallowed goals! I am really looking forward to getting this game when it is released! Who's with me?

  12. So the draft has started...Hall to Edmonton, Seguin to Boston. Not a lot of trading, but Fowler and Gormley fell down a little after everyone started taking forwards.
  13. How big of an underdog is Leben going into his fight with Akiyama? I think he has a chance, but I don't think Akiyama will be suprised by anything Leben offers.
  14. There is the nail in the coffin for Denmark's round of 16 aspirations.
  15. The Simpsons had a wrestling game...do they count then?
  16. Two great free kicks and Japan is up by two. This is awesome!
  17. With our health care system, it just makes sense to be fat.
  18. I'd say the US team had more then luck. The way they responded to going down by 2 against Slovenia was amazing. If they were lucky, they would have won that game 3-2 instead of tying it 2-2.
  19. Big trade - Chicago has moved Byfuglien, Sopel, Eager and Akim Aliu to the Thrashers for the 24th and 54th picks overall, Marty Reasoner and Jeremy Morin. I think this is a good trade for both teams. Sopel deserved more minutes then he was and would have got in Chicago and Byfuglien might be turning the corner if his playoff run is an indicator. If not, he is still a big body to put up front on the powerplay. Eager is a useful fighter and Aliu is still a prospect. Chicago sold high on Byfuglien and got some good picks. More importantly, they cleared cap space. This should allow them to keep the rest of the team together.
  20. If Australia wins and Germany wins, Germany and Ghana go through?
  21. Oh, I like Leben. I am sure the fight will be entertaining. I was just really looking forward to seeing Wanderlai.
  22. Montreal has resigned Tomas Plekanec to a 6 year, $30 million deal.
  23. I might not order the PPV now. I really wanted to see Wanderlai fight.
