  1. I played all 3 uncharted games for the PS3 since March. 2 was definitely the best (IMO).
  2. Oh. Now I get where the "Dennis Bergkamp wasn't that good" argument was coming from.
  3. Iike the undertones. That is the first song I've heard from them so there's a special place for it in my heart. I love the cramps. Nowadays there are festivals fully dedicated to the psychobilly genre. The cramps have influenced so many of those bands. I didn't know they were going to be featured in this book but I think they deserve to be in it. There are plenty of bands I love that won't be in it and I think that's ok but the Cramps have earned their spot.
  4. Haven't commented much lately since I'm on vacation. Regardless, I check the list now and then. Blondie is one of my faves. I also like the Buzzcocks and Iggy, although they seem to show up very often. I also own a lot of Pere Ubu's albums. I don't love everything in their catalogue but they have some good collabs with other musicians. By the way, if you felt this was weird, it can get weirder if you delve into it.
  5. I love all of these. I'll listen to them now as I always do, but this time felt like commenting beforehand because I guess I'm happy with what's coming. I'm very surprised it's your first time listening to Holidays in the Sun. I understand most of their songs you'd know only if you're a fan or if you are around the punk scene in one way or another, but Anarchy in the UK, Pretty Vacant, God Save the Queen and Holidays in the Sun, are just songs that pop up in the radio at random times (although, obviously more often in Rock Radio Stations).
  6. I'm not a fan of the direction suicide took after the first album but I do like this album and song. There's a big 10 minute song in it called Frankie Teardrop. I may like it even more. The single Cheree, which I have to admit I'm surprised they didn't pick, is the one song in the album I don't care about. As for Iggy, I'm more of a stooges guy personally, but I do like a lot of his stuff in between lust for life and zombie birdhouse. This album sounds different in my opinion than everything he did right after this. The next few albums sound a little bit more like the stooges and I like them more. Not the best of reasons, I guess, but it's the truth.
  7. This is the only Ian Dury album I own. Everything he did since then is definitely not for me. To be fair, I don't even like this one that much apart from a few songs. I really like this song though. One of my friends loves Kraftwerk. I visit often. As a result I've heard them a lot. It's not something I'd listen to for too long but I'm ok with the occasional song.
  8. 60 shots? Wth? Considering ball-in-play time is less than 60 minutes a game (average) your team attempted to score every single minute of the game (again, average)!
  9. I respectfully disagree. God Save the Queen kicks your behind. Anyway, Lee Scratch Perry and the Upsetters also started out as a reggae band like the ones you heard before and said you didn't like that much. They started shifting into this sort of sound in the early 70s. I already mentioned I enjoy it in small doses but Lee scratch Perry was something else. Maybe I wasn't in the right mindset or I just wasn't ready for it or it was the end of a really long day/night but man, was it unbearable for me. Granted the Upsetters were long gone and this was just Lee Scratch Perry and the assorted musicians he tours with but still... It's weird because there are others who definitely evolved in a similar way like Prince Buster and King Tubby but I like them a lot more. Also, the style these people pioneered was obviously an influence in other bands I like like the Clash or Police and definitely you can see some elements of it in many early 80s post-punk bands and 90s big beat acts that I like, besides trip hop as you mentioned. It's just this guy that bothers me a bit for some reason.
  10. Keith Lee and WALTER and Matt Hardy and Tetsuya Naito are interesting. I was going to say Braun and Tanahashi looked the weirdest pairing but then I remembered Braun Strowman is a former tag champion with Nicholas, so I guess anything goes.
  11. I'm aware it is for most people but I prefer their first two albums. I believe Machine Gun Etiquette has nicer melodies but I like the first two more even if those are rough around the edges. To be fair their only albums I don't like are those they did in the mid 80s until they broke up. Granted, they were shifting towards a more goth oriented sound but they had been doing so since the Black Album and Strawberries and there's stuff I like there. Also, there are some bands within the Goth Rock/Post-Punk genre I like a lot, so it's not just that. For some reason I just don't like how the Damned did it, even though most of these bands I like were actually influenced by the Damned! Personal preference works in a weird way sometimes. When they came back in the 90s it was softer but still kept the punky/goth feel and I like it more. They were still making music and their last album last year (?) was pretty decent.
  12. I like all of these. I don't normally listen to Max Romeo, but I've seen it live and I had a good time. It's the kind of stuff I'm happy watching a set but wouldn't want to be in a full festival dedicated to it - although I've actually been in that situation! The last 2 I've heard a bazillion times but they never get the skip treatment on my mp3 playlist.
  13. I remember reading this 2 months ago. He was playing for the U-16. Never heard his name before then. They said he was still a few years away from playing n the B squad but they also said he was one of the best on his team. Right back. Apparently scored the game winner against Real Madrid in a U-12 final or something like that. That's all I know. Could be good, I suppose.
  14. I agree with most of this. I prefer Pablo Picasso on the Modern Lovers album. I actually also like the new version of Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers, although it's definitely not as creative or groundbreaking as the original band's work.
  15. The late 70s to early 80s is one of my go to eras in terms of music. I like the modern lovers and the saints and while I've heard Blitzkrieg Bop a million times I still like the song. I'm mostly curious to see if we'll see a couple more Ramones songs in this since this one was a given. Plenty of candidates. On the other hand, my girlfriend basically loathes Hotel California. We all have a few songs we can't stand for whatever reason. I don't mind it but I don't care enough to make her suffer so I hadn't heard the full song in forever. I did it now just to keep the challenge going, though.
  16. Wailers first album is pretty good. The rest of it, hit or miss for me. I don't mind when they play a random song at a pub but I usually get bored when someone plays a full album.
  17. Personally, I'd pick Horses over any other Patti Smith album so I guess it makes sense I like these songs more than others. Still surprised they picked at least 2 Patti Smith songs. I say at least because considering sales and mainstream popularity Because The Night may be included as well. And if it isn't included I'll still be surprised they picked two of her songs and none of them is Because the Night. I don't mind. Because the Night wouldn't be my choice on Easter, far from it, but it was by far her most commercially successful song. It doesn't mean much but in these lists it usually does.
  18. Happy to get this one since I had no idea in the Essien quiz. However I feel this one was easier. The previous one had too many variables to consider.
  19. Is it Fikayo Tomori? Fabregas and Pulisic makes me think Chelsea and Alfonso Davies but not Pavard makes me think Canadian.
  20. Patti Smith is still active too. Saw her again last year after many years.. didn't expect much but enjoyed it a lot. I like her first albums from the 70s. I'm really surprised they picked this one over Because the Night (assuming they won't pick any other) even though I actually prefer it. It's definitely not as radio friendly as the other.
  21. Isn't that the covid version of shoot first, ask questions later?
