  1. As much as it pains me to say it, the Jets would be a good bet. We're average now with two average at best Quarterbacks but with promise in Shonn Greene, albeit the team is brilliant on defense with players such as Darrelle Revis, who really carry the team.

The Panthers are a good up-and-coming team now as well, probably the most promising QB in the league with Cam Newton

One last thing, I like Kansas' jerseys unsure.gif

I don't hate the jerseys, but just full red jerseys with full white helmets is just... boring, at least for me.

Panthers are a nice suggestion tho, nice RB/QB combination with only Steve Smith being a solid guy receiving...

Also a question about that connected careers stuff, is that online-only? Or is it also offline? I don't got my 360 connected to the internet and from how it looks it's truly smashing.

It includes My Player (be a superstar) right? If I read it right you finally get to fight for a depth chart spot instead of being a Starting rookie HB on the Falcons and shit like that.

  2. A young, middle of the pack team would not be the 49ers, who came within one game of the Super Bowl, or the Redskins, who are the drizzly shits.

I see... Beats me for not knowing enough...

I am superficial as frack tho, and I would like a nice mid-of-the road (or exceptionally young) team that actually has jerseys that aren't bland like Kansas.

  3. This gives a good overview of all the teams: http://vassets.ea.co...reersManual.pdf

I would say St. Louis, Washington or San Francisco.

Thanks for the manual, gonna read it through just because I got too much time on my hands :)

That would be the Lions. Chiefs are the youngest team in the league.

I don't think I will take the Lions anytime soon with them having Stafford throwing and Megatron roflskating all over the defense.

From those 5 teams you guys suggested I think the team I would take are the 49'ers or Skins, I never really liked the Rams and the Chiefs have terrible jerseys I simply can't stand to look at more than once a season.

Thanks for the quick responses tho smug.gif

  4. I will most likely be getting this game when it comes out.

But I have little clue of the moves and transactions of the NFL each year and what team is big/small young/old etc.

Anyone got a good tip for me what team to pick in my first Franchise mode?

I don't want to jump into a big dynasty (Giants, Packs, Pats etc.) and rather want to stick with a middle of the road team which is preferably young.

  5. Faceoffs. I cannot win a faceoff to save my life.

This, ever since they changed it to some rock paper scissors shit, I can't win them consistently at all.

I preferred t' old system that relied solely on good timing and a guy with high faceoff skill.

  6. I can't play t' demo because I have no cable near my xbox, but seeing and hearing that goalies have become better, I can safely assume that in NHL 13 I will never ever score.

I mean in NHL 12 I already have a hard time scoring goals as it is, so NHL 13 is going to be purgatory for me.

I play on auto aiming btw, because unlike other people I can't choose t' correct corner when there are defenders breathing down my neck and I am trying to get it to t' guy in t' crease...

Sigh, gonna have a hard time with NHL 13 I guess to start...

  7. He's pretty awesome. What league are you in?

Just sold Reina for 50 Million!

Tunisia just won the World Cup, beating Euro Champions Russia, Portugal, Netherlands, England and Germany!

    Mother+of+god+_0e29a0446d96d138e7f1b06aa63261cf.jpg

I wish I could ever get a decent return for my talented players. Even when City comes knocking they always try to eff me over by offering stuff like offering 10 million for Aaron Ramsey.

  8. I wish we could buy clubs. I'd definitely spend a few weeks wages on some low-league team and turn that small change in to millions by loaning them players from my first club!

But I guess that's a bit more than Football Manager.

You got Fifa Manager for that shit Fudge. And Fifa Manager is ''solid'' compared to Football Manager.

  9. I have some bad (awesome) experiences with The Movies.

I wont go into details, but just imagine a guy in a chicken suit gunning down droves of people without much explanation why. And continuity errors run rampart, it's awesome really.

  10. I might be living under a roof for years so can anyone explain me what this ''hollywood mogul'' is? I assume it has something to do with moviemaking, but can someone show me a place with some more information, I found that unofficial forum to be lacking a bit.

  11. Seeing they made the goalie even smarter, I will probably suffer even more in NHL 13 as I did in NHL12, I can hardly score as it is rofl.

But NHL 13 looks really slick, backskating looks like something I will use a lot because it will probably make it more easier and organic to pass the puck around the offensive area to wait for a goof up to shoot.

Also the explosive speed and such is also a very wanted addition, no more having the defenders backskate at the same speed as the forwards who are skating forward, actually being able to shake people off with quick cuts and sprints.

I can't wait for NHL 13, some great improvements which will make me buy it once more. I just hope I can actually learn how to properly score goals.

  12. I would love to play this game if only I had more knowledge than the basics :/

I know stuff like having 6 guys work their asses off for the 2 stars of the side, and some basics on hills/mountains and energy management.

But with the old versions I never in my life could win a sprint or just win in general, I would end up simming the gist of it and that is boring.

I do love management games passionately, but if only I had more knowledge of the game. When I look on the PCM forums and hear about people roflskating over the TDF I get all jealous.

  13. I came.

The strategy game that got me addicted to strategy games, and now it is getting a remake!

I can still remember fondly how I slayed Egyptian hordes with my hoplites and owned the world with the Spartans, and soon it's possible in a whole new game :w00t:

    Time to re-install RTW1!

  14. I tried really hard to get into it but I couldn't figure out tilesets - which is what I would NEED at bare minimum to figure out what the fuck is going on. :(

My suggestion is that you first try to watch a Youtube LP or Tutorial for the game.

There are plenty of guys who are doing or have done LP's. But watching other's play is pretty easy to learn most mechanics.

That's an example of a guy who is very good and not confusing either.

  15. Just got to the part where

I had to leave the farm because I saved Duck instead of Lee, and Hershel didn't trust me,who did you guys save? game is awesome so far.

I tried to save Shawn too and Kenny ran in and saved Duck but you Shawn still dies because you can't get the tractor off him and the zombies get to him.

You still get kicked off the farm because Hershel is bitter and angry at Kenny for running away.

  16. Well I decided to start a new game after a long time not playing and to give myself a challenge I decided to take the talented but lacking New York Islanders...

82 games later I win the Atlantic Division, becoming the number 2 seed in the east and yeah... getting the Islanders to their first playoffs in 5-6 years.

    5094218b0f81be1549c3598b4fadd9b9.png?1341013493

As you can see I finished 4th in the whole NHL, which all in on itself is absolutely crazy and the complete opposite what I myself expected to do.

Also going to show you the best scorers of the league underneath.

    3a2b8a47fe3d615abd8b7baadce7237f.png?1341013946

As you can see Tavares is an absolute beast who completely dominated most of the Eastern Conference this season, And Okposo was legendary himself too becoming the 3rd best scorer behind Semin and Zetterberg.

Also the reason Ovechkin is so low is because he broke his leg and had to sit out 20 something games, that kills your chances for the Rocket for sure. Semin was a beast though.

And here are the stats for my own team, Pretty much anyone on that minus the guys who played less than 5 where part of my main team

    89d0ac40814299eddea963328cabec29.png?1341013778

As you can see I have Voracek, Pronger and Meszaros. I managed to snag them from the Flyers who had to cut a lot of costs before the start of the season. So I got an ace scorer in Voracek and two beastly defenders in Prongszaros. Eminger got injured after his first game for the team and he got claimed off the waivers when I wanted to return him to the main roster at the end of the season (Torn ACL stole 8 months of his career).

And I am also a bit pissed because Kotalik and Knuble got traded because they didn't want to resign, Knuble wasn't that bad but Kotalik was a big part of my team. And I will also most likely lose Nielsen because he also does not want to resign with me.

At least I am keeping hold of my stars in Tavares, Okposo, Voracek, Grabner etc.

Also Di Pietro ended up sitting the pine for most of the season when Al Montoya impressed a lot in training camp and just stole his spot and he never looked like losing that spot. After the playoffs I decided to trade away RDP and a buttload of picks for the first overall (which I used on Grigorenko)

Enfin, time to talk about the playoffs, because that's where my mind literally exploded into a thousand of bits...

    QF East:

    (1) Sabres b. (8) Capitals 4-1

    (3) Hurricanes b. (6) Bruins 4-1

    (5) Penguins b. (4) Devils 4-0

    QF West:

    (8) Ducks b. (1) Kings 4-1

    (2) Flames b. (7) Blackhawks 4-0

    (6) Sharks b. (3) Blues 4-2

    (4) Canucks b. (5) Red Wings 4-2

My Quarter Finals: (2) Islanders Vs. (7) Canadiens

    Game 1: 0-2 Islanders

    Game 2: 4-5 Islanders

    Game 3: 5-2 Islanders

    Game 4: 2-3 Canadiens

    Game 5: 4-6 Islanders

So yeah, I won the first round and never really looked like losing it. The Canadiens managed to take one game but we immediately fought back with a 4-6 win.

Time for the Semi Finals, it's the Hurricanes!

    SF East:

    (1) Sabres b. (5) Penguins 4-1

    SF West:

    (2) Flames b. (8) Ducks 4-1

    (4) Canucks b. (6) Sharks 4-2

My Semi Finals: (2) Islanders Vs. (3) Hurricanes

    Game 1: 3-5 Islanders

    Game 2: 3-4 Islanders

    Game 3: 6-3 Islanders

    Game 4: 3-1 Islanders!

And against all odds I manage to sweep the Hurricanes. So yeah against all odds I manage to get into the playoffs, win the quarterfinals and then sweep the Hurricanes in the Semis... Now it's time for an even bigger chore, the number one seeded Sabres look like they want to take my young team down like... 15 pegs.

    Conference Finals West:

    (2) Flames b. (4) Canucks 4-2

My Conference Finals East: (2) Islanders Vs. (1) Sabres

    Game 1: 2-4 Sabres

    Game 2: 3-1 Islanders

    Game 3: 2-4 Islanders

    Game 4: 5-3 Sabres

    Game 5: 3-2 Islanders

    Game 6: 4-3 Sabres

    Game 7: 5-0 Islanders!!!

And once again I manage to beat all the odds by taking out the Sabres in a 7 game thriller, it wasn't pretty in the least and I can't count how much minor injuries both teams suffered. But one thing I never saw coming is a 5-0 shutout against the number one seed in the decisive Game 7... I really had to look twice really, I never expected to get into the playoffs but right now I was standing in the middle of the freaking NHL Finals. One hurdle away from the gold and in front of me stood the Western Champions the Calgary Flames, who wanted to take the gold back to Canada.

NHL Finals: (2e) Islanders Vs. (2w) Flames

    Game 1: 3-5 Flames

    Game 2: 5-1 Islanders

    Game 3: 1-4 Islanders

    Game 4: 4-2 Flames

    Game 5: 3-1 Islanders

Game 6: 0-4 New York Islanders!

Trust me, I ran a lap through my house and I think my housemates thought I had suffered stroke or something. In my first season I have gone from being the projected worst team to the very best one in the NHL and I did so with a team which you can't call Finals material. Tavares and Okposo really dragged my team to the finals and beyond with their brilliant scoring and Voracek also had a big Finals when he showed up ready to go as he, Nielsen and Grabner helped the team lift their first trophy in 20 years. And the way we finished it off with a 0-4 blowout at home just made it all the more sweeter.

So yeah I was the NHL Champion and Tavares went home with the deserved MVP trophy as he played like a god every single game, he was on fire all off season long and even though Voracek had one more point... Tavares was the catalyst for my team...

Below I am going to post the playoff stats of all players and also my own team, just to show you how amazing my extremely young attack was.

    Playoff Stats:

    792d5b6910941c1993206559791216a1.png?1341015622

    NYI Playoff Stats:

    3155e1dbbdbe45be6445ae78a13ce946.png?1341015657

As you can see Rick Di Pietro played almost the whole playoffs, that was because Montoya suffered a bad tigh injury leaving him out of contention, but RDP never fucked up and I am glad he was on my bench for that playoffs.

Voracek was decent in the regular season but in both finals he stepped up his game big time as he suddenly started to score points like there was no tomorrow and he certainly was the star in the Conference finals, but of course John Tavares was the true star of the show with his awesome passing game setting up even the worst of players.

The playoffs weren't a showcase of great defensive action due to me just instructing the young players to go out there and shoot a buttload of shots at the goalies and it clearly worked as we overloaded their defenses with Tavares and Nielsen being the set up men and the likes of Okposo, Voracek, Kotalik, Grabner banging them in.

(Zherdev and Emeleev came over from Russia when their contracts ended in April and I signed them, and they where also eligible so I put them on the fourth line not to eff with chemistry.)

So yeah, that is pretty much my first season with the Islanders, I expected to be among the bottom teams and with a bit of luck getting 8th seed or something... But I never expected to get to the playoffs and then win it all. Every round I was going ''they are going to kill me'', but that never happened. Can't complain with the result, I can't wait for next season... The team is only getting better.

If you guys got any question or want to see some other stats feel free to ask and I will try to deliver. If you want to see player attributes or a statline or whatever, ask and I will post some pictures.

Also questions about the game, tactics, Practice etc. is also a-ok, ask away.

  17. I think I had to mess about a fair bit with the sliders to get BAP to be any fun to play, check out the Operation Sports forums, there's some good stuff there.

As for EASHL, we've kind of cooled off a bit in recent months, I guess partly due to Ad's FIFA addiction. I'm definitely up for getting some more games in though if we can all get on at the same time.

Gonna check out Opsports for sure...

Also wondering, Seeing the average season is like 70 or so games. How do all of you play your BAP seasons? I recon that you guys don't play all 70 odd games right and sim a bunch of games too?

It takes me 30+ minutes to finish a single game on authentic, and to play a full season would simply take ages.

Any sim strategies seeing that if you sim too long that you get demoted? Like how many games can I sim before I need to play a game to reset the coach?

  18. Does anyone have some tips for me, I am trying to play Be a Pro but I am failing pretty miserably right now.

First I tried to play at Pro difficulty, I played a exhibition and ended up winning 12-1 with the Caps against the Hurricanes.

So I decided to start back up a BAP game and I decided to be a right handed Left Wing Sniper, because quite honestly... Who doesn't love to score goals?

And I decided to be an 18 year old player for the London Knights in the WHL, I like to play in the CHL first to get that true rookie to legend feeling.

Of course because Pro was too easy I decided to put the difficulty one notch higher (All-star?) because I dont want to end up beating the shit out of my opponents.

I am playing with auto aiming for shooting because I don't have the quickness and general Ice Hockey knowledge to plink it into the right spot everytime. But I can't score if my life depended on it, I can get some second hand assists here and there but scoring is nigh impossible for me.

I think I am getting into the right spots in front of the goal and trying to stretch the play out by staying wide and then cut inside for the pass but the goalie always manage to stop me. I can't park in front of the net either because then I will either get bullied away again or the defender lifts my stick causing the puck to get away from me.

I don't want to be deadly on Pro, but I atleast want to be capable of getting 1st line Sniper points on the current difficulty.

Anyone got some tips for me?

  19. *dusts off thread*

Ever since first playing Deus Ex Human Revolution when it came out I have been enthralled by it's soundtrack which I got with the special edition.

I love the epic sounding ambient music and every track just has an epic scale.

Just wondering if anyone know what the exact name of that kind of Ambient music is, because I want to hear more of such songs :)

  20. Good god Holland was terrible on offense.

They where way too lazy in the build up giving the Danes plenty time to set their defense and also they settled for waaaaaaaaaay too much long shots.

I think I have only seen 2-3 shots from inside the box from the Dutch, way too inefficient on offense and the Danes gave them a run for their money with a very nice Krohn-Deli goal.

I do hope Holland at least show some spirit in the next half.
