  2. That's some encouraging news. Whilst I'm sure it hurts like a bitch hopefully it'one of those clean breaks that looks horrific but isn't as difficult to rehab as a ligament or tendon injury.

As far as the women go, I think the UFC have themselves to blame for it not taking off very quickly. They should have put more of the Women's fights that have been prelims on main Fox Sports cards, Sara McMann vs. Sheila Gaff for example was on the prelims for UFC 159, why not save it for a slot on a proper televised card that more people are likely to watch? McMann is now headlining a UFC PPV and not a single casual fan knows who she is.

Liz Carmouche was an unknown too, and they hyped it up tenfold and made her look like a massive deal. Tate lost to Rousey before and against Zingano, and they hyped that fight massively and quite honestly would have been able to headline a card.

Rousey Vs. McMann will sell regardless because the UFC hype machine is the best hype machine there is and they can make anyone look like a big deal, they could throw a homeless man against Mark Hunt and they can make it feel like the Homeless man can KO Hunt.

And like has been said before, Rousey is the biggest heel in the UFC right now. She is a massive bitch and she knows that being a bitch sells her fights and make people want to see her get her ass beat. She dominated Tate, but the crowd was still actively cheering Tate until after the actual finish.

I agree that they can certainly do more effort to make the other women fighters more popular, but as long as Rousey is the champ she is going to sell fights regardless of who she faces.

And now to Anderson, that injury is just nasty in every sense of the word. And if this is it for Silva this would be a tragic end to a legendary career. And I really don't know what Silva still has to prove in the division, and like others have said he isn't the same Silva that was unstoppable and I don't see him being able to hang at the top if he returns.

  3. Saints IV is the best! Everyone should play it

I played SR4 but (like SR3) it just lacked the spark that made the first two games special to me.

AS a game it's much more insane fun than SR3, but just like with 3 the story is utterly forgettable and even in a game where story is tacked on solely on establishing your badassness it just felt bare.

  4. S2 E1 spoilers and feels.

First off, that whole S1 recap was just filled with strong feelings from Lee's tale and it still breaks me up to think about the ending where I had Clem shoot Lee before turning.

Secondly, I was sad to see Omid go but in a way I saw it coming at least to give you a big kick in the teeth before everything really gets underway.

Then we had Christa vanish on us, but I honestly feel she is going to return later on. They aren't just going to kill a main character off-screen, that goes against all writing conventions... I hope.

The dog part was done well, and it was a nice believable set up for what came after. And in a way it perfectly symbolized the ''loss of innocence'' we now see in Clem.

Of course you got that suturing scene and that was just cringeworthy to go through, I really had a hard time watching along the entire scene but yet again, a very poignant scene to show how much Clementine has changed from being an innocent girl to a very cynical but strong person. And the feelings of melancholy where clear from the offset too, since there wasn't anything to be upbeat about.

Finally the ending, I decided to save Pete regardless of him being bit by the walker. Since the man always treated Clem with dignity and trust together with Luke, whilst the others where ready to kill her without remorse. And the way Nick ran away there is still a chance he might be alive in the future.

Finally the characters, I enjoy the characters quite a bit. Clem is obviously very changed from Season 2. The new characters I like too, everyone has shown clear good qualities throughout regardless of them ready to give up on Clem from the get go. The only one that isn't likeable and is probably written like that is the pregnant woman, but I am sure there is a story there somewhere.

The other young girl is also interesting, especially with the whole angle that she is seemingly oblivious of what is really going on and is in stark contrast to the very callous Clementine.

As a whole, it's a slow episode to start the season but in a way it just works. It shows the aftermath of Season 1 and kicks you right in the teeth, before giving you the chance to come to grips with playing as Clem and seeing how much she has changed in 16 months. It establishes the cast very well too and I am sure that the season will really get into swing a few episodes in like last year.

Going off what I experienced in these 2 hours, I am very hopeful for the future episodes because I know that TellTale can make it yet another great story and leave me at the edge of my seat.

  5. MAIN EVENT – Middleweight Championship (7 points)

‘The All-American’ Chris Weidman © (10-0) vs. ‘The Spider’ Anderson Silva (33-5)

Hardest choice, Weidman was impressive so I am giving him the leg up to keep the title. But I am afraid that Silva actually shows up and schools Weidman.

    CO-MAIN EVENT – Women’s Bantamweight Championship (7 points)

‘Rowdy’ Ronda Rousey © (7-0) vs. ‘Cupcake’ Miesha Tate (13-4)

Tate is the same Tate that got owned last year, I simply can't see her win this time around. If the fight goes to the ground it's over.

    Heavyweight Division (4 points)

‘The Warmaster’ Josh Barnett (33-6) vs. ‘Hapa’ Travis Browne (15-1-1)

Another toughie, but I feel Barnett is generally better as a fighter and will beat Browne. Hapa last two fights came from a guy who has a glass chin and a guy who is essentially a gatekeeper.

    Lightweight Division (2 points)

Jim Miller (22-4) vs. ‘Morango’ Fabricio Camoes (13-7-1)

    Miller to win

PRELIMINARY FIGHT – Middleweight Division (2 points)

‘The Crippler’ Chris Leben (22-10) vs. ‘Prime Time’ Uriah Hall (8-4)

Jesus these guys can't win to save their lives... Leben on virtue of record I guess...

PRELIMINARY FIGHT – Featherweight Division (1 point)

‘The Diamond’ Dustin Poirier (14-3) vs. ‘DB’ Diego Brandao (22-8)

PRELIMINARY FIGHT – Featherweight Division (1 point)

Dennis Siver (21-9) vs. ‘The Anvil’ Manny Gamburyan (15-8)

Yay, grinder versus grinder... Siver on record I guess...

    BONUS QUESTIONS:

    1) Will the Women’s Bantamweight Championship match end in the first round? (1 point)

    Yes

    2) Can Josh Barnett take Travis Browne (who has a takedown defence of 100% in the UFC) at least once per round for as long as the fight goes? (1 point)

    Yes

    3) Predict the ending of the Middleweight Championship fight: (T)KO / Submission / Decision (1 point)

    TKO

  6. Talking about the GSP thing, respect for him for making a good decision and picking his life over the cage. His career has been made, he is a HOF fighter for a long long time already and in a way this just feels right.

Hendricks vs. Lawler should be a slobberknocker too, and I think Hendricks is the new Welterweight champion.

And if GSP ever decides to return and Hendricks is still champion by then... Oh boy, Oh boy.

  7. Still 9th after missing two cards... You guys fucking suck :P

‘The California Kid’ Urijah Faber (29-6) vs. ‘Mayday’ Michael McDonald (16-2)

    Featherweight Division (3 points)

‘Money’ Chad Mendes (15-1) vs. ‘The Carny’ Nik Lentz (26-5-2, 1 NC)

    Lightweight Division (2 points)

‘J-Lau’ Joe Lauzon (22-9) vs. Mac Danzig (22-11-1)

PRELIMINARY FIGHT – Lightweight Division (1 point)

‘Last Call’ Danny Castillo (16-5) vs. ‘Junior’ Edson Barboza (12-1)

PRELIMINARY FIGHT – Lightweight Division (1 point)

‘Hands of Stone’ Sam Stout (20-9-1) vs. Cody McKenzie (14-3)

    BONUS QUESTIONS:

    1) Who will land more significant strikes in their fight, Demetrious Johnson or Joseph Benavidez? (1 point)

    Mighty Mouse

    2) Will the Urijah Faber versus Michael McDonald fight go the full 3 rounds? (1 point)

    Yes

    3) Will the Joe Lauzon versus Mac Danzig fight earn a post-fight bonus (FOTN, SOTN, KOTN)? (1 point)

    No

Deadline for predictions is 2:30 pm ET December 14th 2013, an hour before the first preliminary fight.

  8. I'm guessing Hunt hasn't dyed his hair pink.

    Nope.

The match suffered because there wasn't enough selling involved.

And that match was absolutely nutters. All through the 4th and the 5th I went ''Now he is going down...'' and they never did, they just kept stumbling around and clobbering each other with hit after hit. I don't know how, but they kept fighting. And this is probably the best draw in MMA ever, if not the best slugfest ever, at least in the top.

I personally don't want a rematch yet, I just want them to go along a bit more and hopefully we get a big time #1 contender bout at a future date.

  9. MAIN EVENT – Heavyweight Division (5 points)

‘Super Samoan’ Mark Hunt (9-8) vs. ‘Bigfoot’ Antonio Silva (18-5)

CO-MAIN EVENT – Light Heavyweight Division (3 points)

‘Shogun’ Mauricio Rua (21-8) vs. James Te Huna (18-6)

    Middleweight Division (2 points)

‘The Villain’ Dylan Andrews (18-5, 1 NC) vs. ‘Headbussa’ Clint Hester (8-3)

    Light Heavyweight Division (2 points)

‘Darth’ Ryan Bader (16-4) vs. ‘The Hippo’ Anthony Perosh (14-7)

PRELIMINARY FIGHT – Bantamweight Division (1 point)

Takeya Mizugaki (18-7-2) vs. Nam Phan (18-12)

    BONUS QUESTIONS:

    1) Will the Takeya Mizugaki versus Nam Phan fight earn a post-fight bonus (FOTN, KOTN, SOTN)? (1 point)

    No

    2) Will Mark Hunt versus Antonio Silva go past the second round? (1 point)

    Yes

Basically a copy of the guy above me, but this card doesn't have real 50/50 fights if you ask me.

  11. I'm just getting into basketball so it's a huge learning curve right now. I've decided the Raptors are my team since they are the televised team in the area and the team that I'll be able to catch the most. The game is pretty in depth from what I can see. It's quite realistic in it's simming as far as I can see since as a guy who doesn't know shit about Basketball yet, I'm on a horrible losing streak. Haha

I know nothing of FBB 2013, or any game of the series. But I know some tactical stuff and team stuff.

I am assuming it's a 2013/2014 roster or something, because 2012/2013 means you are fucked outright.

With the Raptors your biggest issue is the most obvious one... No one on your team knows how to defend and all the guys are about as effective as a turnstile.

D.J. is a massive liability on defense, and as long as you try to keep Lowry on the team you really don't need D.J. at all, he is cheap but still his defense will hurt you a lot and he doesn't bring anything special to the table compared to Kyle Lowry, or anyone you could get in a trade for him.

Then you have deRozan as SF turned SG when Gay arrived. He is talented, he can score quite well but like always, he will get abused by most scorers because his defense is a liability. Same story with Ross, only less talented than Demar...

Rudy Gay is very hit and miss, and whilst he is the team's best player, you would probably be better off trying to get a good deal for him and start a proper rebuild right away. Rudy Gay is a good forward, but there is a reason he was traded to the Raptors last year.

Austin Daye is a shooter with some talent, but for the love of god, a carboard cutout of Shawn Marion is more stifling than him.

But it's not like Fields is any better, because he is just bad and a waste of space and money. I would play Novak ahead of him because Novak has the ability to get buckets on open shots and is a nice (non defending) stretch 3/4...

Big men wise the only bright spot is Jonas who is young, big and a guy that could become an effective bigman given good training. He can take midrange shots and is a smart kid overall... And aside for Johnson and Hainsbrough, the other big men are reserve material for most teams in the league. And the biggest issue though with all of them, they aren't stifling defenders and teams with scoring bigmen you are effed in the A.

So as a conclusion, you need a few more guys who can bring scoring punch off the bench. Novak, Daye and DJ, fit that bill, but they can't defend for the life of them.

So what your first task is, teach the young guys to defend better and at the same time try to look for trades or free agent signings that get better defenders into your team. Since you are the Raptors, that might be an issue.

So do what the Raptors do in real life... Try to outscore your opponent and survive on defense. Accept mediocrity for now and try to rebuild on Lowry, DeRozan and Jonas as your core guys, Gay can stick around but I would rather try to find a good trade for him to relief your cap burden and get some more future talent into the team.

I don't know how realistic FBB is, but at least you can try your best to make poor defenders into decent ones, and decent ones into good ones... And maybe if you get lucky in the draft and free agency you can get some guys into your team that can stop the better players.

Again, I just felt like talking about basketball so feel free to take this as you will.

It's 12-13 roster at this point.

Right now my starting line up is

    C - Byron Mullins

    PF - Ed Davis

    SF - DeMar DeRozan

    SG - Alan Anderson

    PG - Kyle Lowry

    And my bench is

    PF - Andrea Bargnani

    PG - Jose Calderon

    C - Aaron Gray

    PF - Amir Johnson

    SF - Linas Kleiza

    PG - John Lucas

    So basically you're saying I'm fucked? :(

The thing is with the Raptors, like I said... They are shifty defenders who bleeds point to many players. Guys like Calderon can pass and score, and a Bargnani can fill up the cup (if he cares about playing), but their defense are a big liability and will cost you.

IRL Byron Mullens is very much a work in progress, but he is a guy who gives you hustle... But not very much actual tangible stats, His rebounding is meh and he won't take over a game on offense either.

I don't know how good Amir Johnson is in FBB, but I would play him ahead of Ed Davis in a real life situation.

The guys you have to rely on for the future are Demar and Lowry, because they are the true talented guys on your roster, the players you want to build around. The rest of the roster is lacking in talent and youth, and with the way the roster is, the team is a bottom feeder through and through.

Rebuild through drafting and free agency, and try to supplement your two ''franchise players'' with other pieces that will add scoring and also provide a safety net for players lacking in defense.

Like IRL you have Shawn Marion as the Starting SF for the Mavericks, because the other starters aren't the best of defenders. He can help shore up the team whilst a guy like Carter comes off the bench for some shooting touch.

Same with Thabo Sefolosha at the Thunder, he provides a mean defensive presence for guards and small forwards alike, a guy who can shadow the other team's best scorer and try to limit his scoring.

With the way your team is, you got two good guys off the bench in Calderon and Bargnani, but they are bad defenders and will hurt you if not supplemented by a guy who can do the hustle work and make it hard for the other team. You got scorers supplemented with warm bodies, and that will give you a hard time keeping afloat in the Atlantic Division where you have to contend with the Nets, Knicks and Celtics.

So yeah, to reiterate. Focus on rebuilding, maybe try to trade a guy like Calderon or Bargnani (preferably not both), and try to get draft picks, young talent and just general cap space. Cap Space is very important because it still gives you an advantage on free agency, and you never know when you might strike lucky with a big name.

  12. I'm just getting into basketball so it's a huge learning curve right now. 13. Finished the story just now.

Really enjoyed it, despite the usual AC stuff that can be annoying. I didn't mind it ending where/how it did. It was nice to see Edward kind of redeem himself with the Assassins and whatnot, and seeing the second credits scene with an older him and young Haytham was pretty good. Of course, now I too want the next AC game to focus on Haytham, though I would like a game that focused more on being part of the Templars than the Assassins (even though the name of the game is

Assassin's Creed). Even Haytham following the Assassin line only for him to turn to the Templars in the end would be pretty good.

I do have to say, the part with Anne singing and Edward walking to the boat, seeing Mary and Thatch was a really nice moment. Hate that Mary had to go; would have loved to see DLC or even an entire game dedicated to her.

Okay, so apparently the final three treasure maps you can only get by sending your fleet out on those missions. And I'm just really slow because you don't NEED the fire barrels for the Fleet missions and your ships will fire cannons at some point. For anyone who wants to know, these are the missions for the Fleet that you have to do to get the final three treasure maps:

The Empty Cellar Missions’ in Eastern British Colonies

    Scarlatina in Eastern Canada

Great Reputation II in Mediterranean Sea

Wait, you need to do fleet missions to get the final treasure maps... That's lame...

  14. Yeah, reading that GSP should really get ready to retire. Because he is on the slope and there is no need for him to slide down it further. He has money to burn, and his legacy has been firmly established.

If he were to retire, there wouldn't be many people that will begrudge him. He might only be 32, but if he is having memory loss you need to seriously re-evaluate your career.

And what I know about the dudes training regiment, he goes all out during practice just as much as during his fights. And that can't be good for his noggin at all, it just adds to it.

I don't want to look back in a few years and look at G.S.P. as that legend that hung on one fight too many, and is suffering from dementia or something horrible like that.

  15. The out of animus stuff is pretty nice, partly because of how different it is to how the previous games did it. I really like the first person view over the third person view. I don't just feel like Ezio in a different skin outside the animus. I actually feel like a completely difference character. Sorry, Desmond.

It's too bad the freaking FOV is making me slightly nauseous when i'm doing it for too long :/

  16. I am only in Sequence 2 or 3 and I am freaking addicted already. Hardly going throuhg the story at all because i'm too engrossed in sailing around and finding islands.

By the love of god, I will get every data fragment/chest/manuscript/assassin contract everytime I find somewhere new, and only then I will think about advancing the plot.

Just wondering though, for the guys further along in the plot than me. Is there an ''out-of-animus story'' going on? Or is it all animus based?

Because without telling spoilers, the whole start of the game was just weird and having played the previous games and using that established ''truth'', everything is fishy as hell. Pun intended
