  1. That Columbus home kit looks like one of those ''watch the dot'' eye tests.

Those DC United kits are really really cool.

Then again, I tend to be drawn by stuff like big ass stars on kits.

    See the best kit ever...

  2. 7th in the final race and 12th in the standings, I will freaking take that. Seeing with driving skills I'm behind the curve, I am very happy with that finish.

The top of the table was unobtainable, and they are just on a whole different level, but I am just glad that none of us have become a backmarker.

And more money, so next year I can invest in a better trainer :D

Good luck in Spain lads, lets make it another good one!

  3. The game was on full ''fuck you'' mode just right now.

I am playing against another guy in the no-limit FUT tournament. And it all started very recognisable where your team is playing like sluggish shit and are unable to beat your opponent in any possible way. Despite having all my stars, they just play like utter dogshite.

Despite having the entire deck thrown against me, I manage to win 3-1 and reach the final... Buuuuut, when I exit the game it ''disconnect'' me from FUT and I am counted with a DNF and get kicked out of the tournament where I was in the final of.

Fuck you FIFA, you vindictive piece of dog shit.

  4. So, a friend gifted me a full Bundesliga team for my birthday, because he has plenty of coins bought from cheap shifty chinese dealers.

What kind of formation would you make with these guys?

    GK: Weidenfeller (83)
    GK: Ulreich (79)

    LB: Alaba (81)

    CB: Dante (84)

CB: Felipe Santana (77) - complete beast in defense

    CB: Boateng (83)

    CB: Subotic (82)

    RB: Piszcek (83)

    RB: Rafinha (76)

    CM: Gundogan (84)
    CM: Kroos (84)
    CM: Gotze (85)

    CM: Sahin (82)

    CM: Badelj (76)

    LM: Reus (85)

    RM: Blasczykowski (83)

    RM: Muller (85)

    RM: Shaqiri (80)

    ST: Dost (76)

    ST: Huntelaar (84)

ST: Aubemeyang (80) - Pure pace abuser

    ST: Mandzukic (83)

    ST: Lewandowski (86)

I personally was thinking of going somewhere along the lines of a generic 442 kind of affair, especially with my fuckload of good strikers. Only real problem is that I lack a second LM and LB for depth.

  5. After the horrible last place finish I decided that I had reached my peak in Canamerica, especially since I had won the North American Champions League.

Then I got an offer I can't refuse, from the toughest team in Spain. The little basque train that could, Athletic Bilbao who had just fired their manager for sitting in 10th spot in late november.

The squad is talented, but has some depth issues in the back and up front, naturally compounded by the basque-only rules in place...

So I stepped in, quickly secured a 2nd round spot in the Europa League. I knew I needed a better striker though, and to my eternal shock the myth himself was available for purchase.

Naturally I mean Fernando Llorente, who was being a beast at Juventus but for some reason they had no problem in selling him back to me for only 4M euros. I really don't get why they wanted him gone for so cheaply, since he had already scored 7 in 17 this season and hasn't had a bad year for Juventus... But eh, my gain their loss :D

    4115b029a04688b1accb1c7fb033e971.png

Granted he will soon be 33 years old, but his skills look absolutely tasty as hell at his ''advanced age'', and with his high natural fitness I'm sure he will still have 2-3 good years left in the tank, where he can help lead the team to strong positions and at the same time mentor the people that will replace him.

He is such a beast, he scored a hat-trick in his second game back (his first was against Barcelona)

Hopefully Athletic will be a longer lasting challenge, I like the idea of only being able to sign basque players, it will really strain my wheeling and dealing and makes every youth player to come into the team important.

  6. Is there a benefit to playing Canadian teams in the MLS, or is it just a coincidence that people on here seem to play as them?

Canadians and US players count as homegrown.

Free to sign players from Canadian teams without drafting them

Takes 3 years to become a Canadian citizen and not count as an international anymore, takes 5 for US teams.

It's oddly satisfying winning the league with a "foreign" team. :P

I've really gotten into this because I'm also manager of Canada and I'm slowly getting them stronger by beefing up Toronto's youth academy and using players who gained Canadian citizenship while playing for me. My Peruvian regen striker who I signed 7 years ago just declared himself eligible and now I have a quality striker who just turned 24 that I had no right to!

    It's fun in Canada!

Also, which I have noted. Better tax laws for players. A player earning 4K a month at a Canadian team will keep 3.4K, whilst at the American club they keep 2.9K.

No clue if it has any effect, but I'd assume it would be more interesting for players in a bidding war.

  7. So after winning the MLS Cup in my first season with the Impact I have thrown my team around to give more depth and a lot more talent in the fold. Most kids signed on 5 year deals, to make sure they're staying cheap for a long long time.

Also got 3 really good Mexican players and 2 Jamaicans who seem to have lots of potential.

Also with Di Vaio retiring (and becoming staff) I signed a new designated player in Anouar Kali who looks phenomenal as a playmaker.

So in the end of it all, I got 23(!) players in my team and I am still around 30K under the salary cap and I got a DP spot open if I feel fancy and can find a top class player.

Here's my team, after a few games.

  8. So today I finally finished up Season 3 of Person of Interest and the only thing I can say is... Wow.

Every season has been better, bolder and more interesting overall. And it's truly one of the best thrillers on TV right now. If you like smart well-written thrillers, you're doing yourself a disservice by not watching this.

Jim Caviezel is a great actor who plays his role of badass ex-spook perfectly, and his character really has had an interesting development.

The bad guys of the season are just played by such great actors who play their characters to a T.

Clarke Peters (The Wire) plays an amazing corrupt Chief of Staff, John Nolan plays a great mysterious figure who runs a shifty corporation. Leslie Odom Jr is just an intense actor who just lives the role of anti-surveillance vigilante and later on in season 3 gets a really relateable story arc.

Then you have recurring characters, like a crime boss played by Enrico Colantoni (Flashpoint) and many many more guest actors who are just well casted.

Every season the stakes get higher and higher and the web grows larger, but it's clever writing makes sure that you can follow along at all times. I admit the first season and also part of the second season has a few ''story of the week'' episodes which causes it to drag at places, but it grows out of that and eventually it chugs along at a good pace adding story with every episode.

If you haven't watched the series yet, at least watch episode 1 and episode 4 of the first season. ep1 explains the series perfectly and ep4 for me is the best single episode of the entire series.

Watch it! I'm hype, I can't wait for season 4!

  9. Be under the salary cap, which means you're going to have to unregister £2k p/w worth of contracts and then that player will be released.

Yeah, that's the weird part. I try to unregister players, but it still won't make me cap compliant. It changes nothing. Releasing/waiving players doesn't change a thing either.

Right now i'm literally stuck unless I holiday every time a registration must be made.

  10. So, I got a weird issue.

I got a registration after I removed someone from the DL, and now I can't complete registrations because I'm 2K above the salary cap. How do I fix this problem, because I can't process further without going on holiday.

  11. So, Mid July and I found myself a new job.

It's not South America though, it's the silly North, managing the Montreal Impact.

They are at the top of their conference, but their manager decided to jump ship to the Galaxy... Well, his loss.

Captain is a 40 year old Marco Di Vaio, who I am trying to reconsider retirement because his abilities are still very impressive for his advanced age.

Biggest name is probably the 33 year old Joey Barton, who was sitting in reserves when I came in. I don't know what i'm thinking, but he'll probably get game time for me... And probably get sent off.

... So, since there are a bunch of you who have managed in the MLS. Can someone give me a good run-down of the salary cap rules in place?

Something with DP's only being marked at the senior minimum and half of that when signed at the midway point... And gen adidas kids not counting to the cap...

It's confusing, so if someone can layman the gist to me I would appreciate it.

  12. Horner is right though. The teams have little option but to accept the calendar or fuck off completely. They are there to race cars and win races. People need to put the fire to Bernie for being a corrupt cunt.

And who can really do that, but the teams?

The teams have to appease a buttload of sponsors though. And the sponsors demand that they race, without those sponsors there are no teams.

  13. So, season is essentially over now that I've clinched league with 2 games left and stranded in the semi finals by the one team that has more cash than me (Citeh).

Cup is probably going to be a win, but I don't care about the cup.

Next season I want a new challenge, and i'm feeling ambitious by going to the other side of the atlantic and giving Brazil a shot.

I've never managed in Brazil though, and with all it's playoffs and leagues it looks confusing as hell. So anyone here have experience in the league and can give me a run down?

And I also looked at Argentina, but they a ridiculous amount of rules including an ''average points'' system I have no clue about.

  14. So I've been checking around the regional series, the sign ups for next season.

These series currently have no +1M rated driver signed up for next season.

    American Series

    Brazil Series

    Croat Series

    Estonia Series

    Finnish Series

    Portugal Series

    Romanian Series

    Slovak Series (Lowest top-guy)

    Spain Series

Personally I'm most interested in the American, Brazilian, and Spanish national series. They have the most tracks in general so we're not repeating the same race every 2-3 races. And of course, the nations are much more prestigious than Croatia which we are in now.

In terms of driver ratings, Spain is the heaviest populated on the top with a lot of Spaniards with high ratings filling the ranks. Shockingly enough Brazil is the least top-heavy of the three.

But yeah, if you guys got suggestions throw em in here.

Hugo can join in if he feels like it, but I'm not sure if it's prudent to jump into a national series with only a few races under his belt. You'll be at a big disadvantage.

  15. Well, my current season with Shakhtar is chugging along very nicely.

My vast amounts of riches have made sure that I am pretty much dominant in the Ukrainian Leagues, and also in the Europa League there hasn't been a team that have made me lose.

Currently I have played 30 games in total, and I have won 20 of them and drawing the rest. I've won the Ukrainian supercup against Dinamo which is my first title and my aims are to get all domestic titles and at least get into the semi-finals of the Europa League, if not win it.

In the league I'm first and undefeated. But having a bunch more draws than Dinamo it's still very close with only a single point between us with 12 games left.

Cup wise we're in the quarter finals against Olexandriya and the top 4 teams (Shakhtar, Dynamo, Dnipro, Metalurg) are all still in contention.

Europa League i'm in the first KO round, having a 3-2 aggregate lead against Fenerbahce. Biggest teams around are Citeh, Liverpool, Leverkusen, CSKA, Schalke, Zenit and more. It's anyones cup, and hopefully I will get a good draw if I get past Fener.

I don't have real interest in a long career with Shakhtar, I just want to abuse their riches and get european success before jumping ship to a league that's more interesting. The only challenge is having 4 uke's in the lineup at all times, which prevents me from going full on crazy superteam.

  16. Another very good Episode, still a bit sad that the over arching storyline is missing this season.

I am takeing bets that clem will be alone with the baby at the end of the season. I wonder if kenny will make it, but dissapear, like he did in season one. For the rest i don´t have much hope.

I'm getting the feeling that in Episode 5 you need to kill Kenny because he has lost complete control over himself and is a danger to all the survivors in the group.

Whatever happens though, it'll be big.
