Hello there! So, I figured we haven't done a big EWB playthrough recently, so I thought I'd set one up for Pokémon and have a ruleset for it to boot. Because nothing is more fun than constricting your ability to play the game! ( ) In this playthrough, I'm challenging you all to do the Mono-Type challenge. This limits you to only using a Pokemon with one specific typing - though dual-type Pokemon are allowed and probably encouraged. You can catch a Pokemon that later evolves in to another typing (so, as an example, Piplup could be used for a Steel type challenge). If your starter does not evolve in to the type you're playing with, then you can use that (and only that) until you reach an area with a Pokemon of that type (or to be of that type), at which point you must catch that Pokemon and release the starter. You can also use legendaries of that type. The twist for this playthrough is that I will randomly assign you the type for your challenge. Just tell me which game you're going to play it with in the thread, then I'll select one using a random number generator and tell you where you can first catch a Pokemon of that type. Remember to keep us all updated with your progress too. Ultimately, I'd like to see if we could have our own set of gym leaders, considering that's sort of where this challenge idea comes from. Personally, I'm going to play through Blue. I was randomly assigned the Psychic type (jackpot!), which means I have to catch an Abra. So I get to play through the entire first Gym and Mt. Moon with my starter!

Well, let's be fair - Bianchi has closed the gap. Pic did finish ahead of Gutierrez at Bahrain too, though that's probably more a case of Gutierrez being absolutely shit.

Bernie reaaaaally seems to dislike Marussia. It'll backfire wonderfully if they stay ahead of Caterham.

When does Nico's contract run out? Failing that, I'm sure they could farm him off to Force India for a year, considering they're turning in to the Merc B-Team as it is. Call it a recouperation year or whatever, then bring him back up to Mercedes.

Oak really is a dick in the first episode. A lot of that is retconned, I think, especially when it becomes clear that Delia/Oak are such good friends. It's also weird because I'd say of the three starter Pokémon, he ultimately is closest to Bulbasaur I'd say (though they also seem to be trying to retcon that to Charizard at the moment). Squirtle definitely is the one that's sort of left out more than the others. Ho-Oh has never really been explained, has it? There's been hints that Ash has a connection with legendary Pokémon, hence why he's seen so many of them, but I don't recall them ever really touching on that further. Also, hell yeah Bruno (and probably Agatha) cameo!

Ash, James and Meowth's original voices are wayyyy too offputting in these early episodes. Also the same reason I can't stand watching the new series episodes because THAT ISN'T HOW ASH TALKS.

Is it just me or is Showdown in Pewter City not up? I only have 1-4 on mine...

So, yes. Myself and TEOL spent a good two hours or so having our asses handed to us in Minecraft Survival Games earlier, then had Ticklez join us for the last hour and a bit, at which point we started rocking it. I think it was job well done all round! EDIT: ...or exactly what Ticklez just said.

Heikki is back as test driver at Caterham, driving it in FP1 in Bahrain. Panic stations for Pic and VDG. Hulkenburg has led the most laps from the last four races :/

That was a ridiculously close finish. Kimi probably could have been closer to Alonso if it weren't for a few things in that race.
