  1. THANK FUCK. But Mei! and fucking Belarus? Ugh.
  2. Erm this is awkward...
  3. Oh my god. Conchita. That may have been the loudest cheer I've ever heard for a Eurovision act.
  4. Fuck me Mei just absolutely killed it.
  5. The Danes love their dance routines, huh?
  6. I wouldn't be shocked if the Netherlands got top 5. They'll probably get a handy position now they're in the second half of the final, and it's probably the best stage performance by the looks of it.
  7. So, all the other favourites bar Hungary got drawn in the first half of the final, which is kind of killer for Armenia/Sweden/Azerbaijan/Ukraine. Interestingly though, the Dutch entry is just outside the top 100 in the UK iTunes chart after the show. No other Eurovision song is in their other than Molly...
  8. Can't believe that San Marino finally made it. Got 7/10 - I thought Estonia (ROBBED), Portugal (ROBBED) and Belgium (Ha!) would make it and not Iceland (Yay!), Montenegro (...meh) and San Marino (...what).
  9. Armenia was massively underwhelming. Like, seriously, that was disappointing. Latvia was much more fun than I thought it'd be. Estonia I always loved.
  10. So the UK just did their first rehearsal and they have the "golden shower" effect that Azerbaijan and Denmark used when they won. It sounds like they're in with a real shot of winning based on reactions to it too.
  11. So because the flag was waved too early, the race has been declared as ending on lap 54! Awkward.
  12. Mega Mawile is an unholy beast. Also, I need to get me my Magmar.
  13. So, I just thought of a comparison and wondered what people thought: Nico Hulkenberg is this generation's Heinz-Harald Frentzen. Always impressive, probably will win a handful of races in his career, but never at the right team at the right time to fully capitalise/constantly having to change teams.
  14. Ugh I really hope this rain comes in the last 2-3 laps. I want memories of that last-laps shower in Spa back in 08/09(?)
  15. Hwoarang is always my first choice, Bryan is my second when it comes to Tekken. Meta Knight for SSBB.
  16. Eek. Ricciardo has been DQ'd over a fuel flow irregularity. Red Bull are appealing, but it'd make K-Mag move up to 2nd and tie Jacques Villeneuve as the highest finishing debutant for some time.
  17. Worryingly for Sauber, Lotus were pretty well matching them and that's a car that seems held together by sellotape and wishes at the moment. K-Mag looked brilliant out there. Nice refreshing change of pace to see new names at the front finally too; Nico's probably the most likeable driver of the top teams alongside Button, but Ricciardo is infectiously happy too. Bottas is really starting to show the promise that was there in bits last year too - he was able to stay closest to Rosberg's pace before his whack, so I can see some good finishes for him and Massa in the next couple races hopefully. Got to think that it all worked out for Hulk too, since avoiding Lotus, Sauber and maybe even Ferrari (dependant on how you judge Kimi as a bass) seems to be going well. Admittedly though it's hard to tell if he either had a good weekend and outperformed the car, or Perez had at worst an anonymous one and underperformed. Chances are that it's the former though.
  18. Norway and Armenia are the two favourites now, and I hate both songs. Awesome. I'm tempted by Estonia, because I think it's a genuinely wonderful dark horse candidate.
  19. Holy crap we could win with this song.
  20. Yeah Hungary being about child abuse is baffling. It's possibly one of the weirdest genre-lyric clashes I've heard.
  21. Yes, it's that time of the year again...kind of. The UK representative for Eurovision 2014 will be announced tomorrow night, with the reveal taking place on the Red Button from 7.30pm. It's known that it's a talent who has come from the BBC Introducing talent pool, as the Beeb have actually taken notice that people need to have talent and be "current" when it comes to doing well at Eurovision this year. All signs point to it being a 25 year old girl called Molly Smitten-Downes, as there's a taping for the music video going on tonight in Soho and it seems a couple of people may have accidentally spilled the beans earlier on Twitter, saying they were supporting her but having to give up their phones etc. to avoid giving anything away (and doing it in the process). She can sing well and would be the most current thing the UK had sent in the past decade if so, which is why I'm hesitant to think it is her In other countries: Spain are sending Ruth Lorenzo, who was *awesome* on the UK X Factor the year of Alex Burke, JLS, Diana Vickers...and Eoghan Quigg, who rightfully lost the Irish final to a much better song this weekend. Generally though, there's been no standout song yet, with Spain and maybe Romania being the best with a shot at winning. So...Manchester 2015, anyone? (Oh, and Copenhagen, Emmelie de Forest as interval act, etc. etc.)
  22. Caterham are going to score points by sheer reliability alone
