  1. Sutil really took it to them in FP1 and was about 3 tenths ahead of Alonso when the flag dropped. No real surprises in the first top 10 after FP1, except for Kubica managing to get 3rd (when you take in to account the fact that the Renault's not looked good whatsoever so far) and Red Bull only managing 9th and 13th. Still, it's very early days and we don't know the fuel loads so FP2 should be interesting in that respect. The only thing that is "confirmed" is the fact that Lotus & Virgin are ridiculously off-pace (by the tune of 7 seconds, although they're actually running at a similar pace to each other so they'll be in competition to some degree, at least) and the HRT car looks ridiculously dangerous to drive. Oh, and HRT is a DUMBASS name for a racing team, I've come to realise.
  2. FFS...the ability of the FIA to make incompetent decisions is worrying at times. They've decided that Stefan GP can't enter the championship at such a late stage, despite the fact that it's been clear for about 2 months now that USF1 weren't going to make it to the grid, while Stefan GP have got a car IN BAHRAIN. Super Aguri didn't have a car that had passed the crash test until like, a few days before the Australian GP back in 2007 (I *think* it was 07), so how exactly the FIA can let that slide, I don't know.
  3. Soooo...yeah. Pre-season testing is over, and it looks pretty obvious that Ferrari have got the best car, followed very, very closely by Red Bull. McLaren and Mercedes are up there too, with Mercedes set to have their new "super diffuser" on the car for Bahrain, which would mean that they could indeed be much more competitive. Then the "midfield" is being led by Sauber and Force India, which is nice to see, with Renault, STR, Williams somewhere behind them. Lotus and Virgin are abysmally off the pace, by like 3-4 seconds, which isn't much of a surprise; Hispania F1 are the former Campos team, haven't done any testing, but apparently they will make Bahrain, but with who as their drivers it's not clear. USF1 have asked to defer their entry for 2011, but with Stefan GP quite clearly ready to race, and with two all-but-confirmed drivers in Nakajima and Villeneuve, I can't see the FIA allowing USF1 to survive. In other words...this still looks set to be the awesomeness. The crazyness over Brawn last year is probably gonna be eclipsed this year by Schumi's return (and having Villeneuve back too would be a nice little thing to see, TBF).
  4. I'd have to say Hard-Fi, partially because I don't even really like Hard-Fi (I went because it was like, £10 for the tickets and my friends were going), and the fact that they played it at Manchester Central didn't help, because it's an awful place to hold a concert, it's faaaar too big in reality. Oh, and the support acts were shit, bar the Rumble Strips, who were good for the sole reason that their drummer was mental.
  5. Personally - and I know that this is going to be a bit out of left field to a degree - but I'd love to see the AWA managing to rise up a little bit at least from where they were in 2008, maybe by having Swagger on their roster and a couple other guys. Rebuild the company around people like Swagger, Tomko, a couple other brawlers (Zeke, maybe?) and Corino, so you have less emphasis on people like Valentine and the Patriot. Maybe have them steal a couple of guys from Golden West Wrestling too - Morishima in AWA would be cool to see, I think.
  6. Note to organiser people: don't use the bloody echo effect on EVERYTHING/
  7. YAY WINTER OLYMPICS!!!! I bloody love these, no-one who knows me quite understands why, and neither do I. I just love them, ever since Nagano. Here's hoping that the UK might actually be able to get a bronze/silver here or there, but it looks like as per usual it's going to be the curling that we have the best chance in, which...meh.
  8. ...so it's Shadow on steroids ETA: Or, Lucario and Shadow's lovechild.
  9. Hm...from what I vaguely recall when I saw La Roux, the performance was only about an hour long and she didn't do any covers etc., just songs from the album.Think she missed a song or two out, but she certainly interacted a fair bit with the crowd (plus the support act were really good) and I enjoyed it. Maybe it was an off night? And for what it's worth, my expectations for the La Roux concert differed completely at the time than what my expectations for GaGa's concert later this month are. GaGa, I'm very much expecting a big show and performance, because that's GaGa in herself. You couldn't compare the personalities of Elly Jackson and Lady GaGa one bit, they're completely different worlds even if their music is vaguely the same.
  10. Fifth Gen has indeed been announced, and the first Pokemon has been "revealed": well...its silhouette has, at least... Is it just me, or does it just look like a slightly steroid-y Infernape?
  11. Fuck yeah. PRP is just a poseur, obvs. And...I can't remember any of the other gays >_>

  12. I so, so want Up to win the Best Picture award. I know it won't, but I seriously love that film so much. That or Basterds, which I loved too.
  13. Petrov is the second Renault driver, therefore leaving only the Campos and USF1 seats being the only two left open. That if, of course, dependant on either of them being ready for the first race, which would probably mean that Stefan Grand Prix would get their slot if one of them dropped out (looking more and more likely to be Campos ATM). Renault also revealed there new look car, which looks more or less like the old Jordan >_> Also, the first test is set for tomorrow in Valencia, with Renault, Sauber, Mercedes, Toro Rosso and Williams all going to be there for sure, and one would presume McLaren and Ferrari'll be there too.
  14. Yeah. I like commercial music, it seems >_>
  15. Very, very happy to see Kobayashi get that seat. Here's hoping that BMW/Sauber had been working on the 2010 car ala Brawn were in 2008, so that it's somewhat competitive at the start of the season. At the very least I'm gonna imagine they'll score a few points - the Ferrari engine is going to give them a HUGE boost over the Cosworth teams alone. Sense would say that Schumacher is going to get that second Mercedes seat (I wouldn't be surprised of course if they bump Rosberg down to second driver), and that Heidfeld is going to end up back at BMW. Alguesuari is a lock for the STR second seat, which really only leaves the USF1 seats, the second Renault seat (unless Kubica pulls out) and then the Campos seat (de la Rosa?). I do have a feeling this is going to be one of the most exciting seasons once again. I'm not crazy about the stupid ass points system, but I'll reserve judgement until the season begins. Also, I've probably said it before but: YAY MONTREAL <3333

    Glee

Emma was in this episode quite a bit for the first half, to be fair. Very, very good episode (no surprise, of course) and again, a good mix of the comedy and the drama. The show didn't even miss Sue, really, especially now that some of her laughs are being put on to Brittany. I think Kurt's observation that she's a girl who "thinks the square root of four is rainbows" was just as good as "It's a male duck! / I bet the duck's in there!". On that note, Chris Colfer's performances in the past two episodes have been amazing, and his "call me" to Finn in the final song was much <3. Also...ehhhh. Mercedes being the voice of reason is a tad rich, because while the girl can sing, the whole sassy black girl thing needs building on. She's never had a real episode focusing on her (apart from the slight rushjob of "Acafellas") and I think she's in need of one more than anyone else right now. Oh, and Mike being called "Other Asian" by Mr. Schu too = awesome.

    Glee

I've been listening to four versions of Defying Gravity pretty much constantly since last week (Kurt & Rachel/Kurt/Rachel/Kristin Chenoweth & Idina Menzel, the original Broadway cast). I mean, it was just so, so awesome. Rachel's version was probably vocally the strongest - if only because Kurt does sound like he's straining a little bit at times - but in the actual episode, the emotion Kurt put in to that song and the build up to the point that he threw the final note...ugh. Heartbreaking and heartwarming a few minutes later when he had that conversation with his dad. Also...yeah, seriously. Please can we have more Artie/Kurt/Puck singing, and considerably less of Finn? The son of Frankenstein isn't really fan-dabi-dozi at anything in this show. *sigh*. Oh, and Brittany is very close to rivalling Sue as my favourite character. Although if Jane Lynch doesn't win all kinds of awards for her performance based on that episode alone...well, there's no justice.
  18. Bwahaha, Katie Price fail. "Oh, I can't do it, it's definitely you!". Hopefully this downfall is even bigger than Jade's.
  19. Oh snaps. Renault have called an emergency board meeting about their future in F1...this doesn't look like it's gonna be a good day for F1.
  20. Aaaaand Toyota have pulled out of F1 after posting their worst ever losses. Which would open the way for Sauber/Qadbank/whatever they'll call themselves to come in and take their spot, which is a lot of yayzers. Although somebody better hire Kobayashi or there will be some ass-kicking to be doled out...

    Glee

YAY GLEE YAY GLEE YAY GLEE *ahem*. Yeah, I love this show so very, very much. Jane Lynch is just amazing, but really, I don't have any character that I dislike. Even though everyone seems to hate Terri, I actually kind of like her for just how batshit crazy she is, and all of her interaction with Howard is so, so funny. The music does make it though, and I love that in every episode there's always been one truly standout performance. Personal favourites of mine are "Take a Bow", "No Air" and "Hate on Me" but, really, I don't think there's been one song I've not been crazy about (maybe Somebody to Love, which is a bit weird since it was meant to be the big number, but it doesn't have the same value I think as Don't Stop Believing or Keep Holding On, both of which I remember a lot more).
  22. Miss Frank are awesome. I've never liked the "let's create a group out of these people" idea up until the girls were put together, and I think that they could very easily make the final and hopefully they'll be signed. With Sugababes kind of self-imploding, Girls Aloud having split up and nobody caring about the Saturdays, there is a gap for a new girl band, much like JLS were there to fill the spot for the boy band that was missing from the market last year.
  23. Well it seems that Kimi only wants more money from Toyota to join them, which would put Kobayashi out of the picture for getting a drive with them. Hopefully though, he will get a drive next year (maybe at Lotus?) because he did prove himself to be a pretty fine talent. Also, it seems likely that Hulkenburg is going to get promoted to race driver by Williams, so it'd be him and Barrichello at this rate. And Heidfeld finally gettig the McLaren drive would be awesome. Although where this leave Kovalainen is anybody's guess. Back at Renault, probably, as Kubica's number two.
  24. My favourite five films are...Kill Bill Vol. 1, Pulp Fiction, Mean Girls, Devil Wears Prada and Monsters Inc. A rather varied bunch, in other words
