  1. Tom Brady just went down with an apparent knee injury, had to be helped off the filed. Looked like the kind of hit that took out Carson Palmer in the playoffs a few years ago. Probably just a strained ligament or a sprain though, as he was walking off with a little assistance.
  2. Spoiler: Click here to view Yeah they've still got Chuck/Shogun to do, which I won't be suprised if that is his next fight. I'm sure they also want to try and pull off Chuck vs Anderson in some capacity, be it MW or LH
  3. Its pretty much unfair for Campbell, because if he doesn't perform well despite the horrid situation he's in, his leash will surely be shortened and he'll have to fend off Brennan next year, who's almost got an unfair advantage of being able to completely focus on one system, whereas Campbell has things keep changing on him. But its the Redskins and I hate them, so hooray.
  4. Well Brock is basically the dark horse. He's not expected to come out of the situation as Undisputed Champ, but if he does he'll have earned it. They've got 3 guys in Couture/Mir/Nog who all already deserve as shot at being the Undisputed Champ and they decided to mix Brock in for money reasons. There's no guarentee how long Randy will be around and the Fedor fight may never come. Its the perfect time to run Lesnar/Couture. Brock is coming off a dominating performance, Randy needs a big comeback fight. If Lesnar wins, he's still got another fight to win before he's considered the top guy. Its a much better situation than if they just had Randy face the winner of Mir/Nogueria, then Lensar fight whoever wins that. Yeah Werdum probably deserves it more, but he won't draw in nearly as much money.
  5. I'm fully aware of the what the actual situation is. What I'm saying is that Brock/Randy is basically a #1 contender's match. Although now Mir/Nog basically is as well. Lesnar isn't getting a title shot so much as he'd be winning a #1 contender's spot, being that he'll have fight in a unification fight. My point was Brock is facing Randy because thats the only guy in the UFC he can beat and become immediately legit. Yeah if he beats him he'll be UFC Heavyweight Champ, but he'd still have another fight before being undisputed. If Brock Lesnar beats Couture and then whoever comes out of Nogueria/Mir, he definately deserves to be Undisputed UFC Heayweight Champion. While he might not deserve the shot now, UFC set it up for him to earn his status through two fights.
  6. The way I see it, Nog is the actual heavyweight champ. While yes, Randy never lost, had he never came back, Nog would still have his belt. So Mir/Nog is the real Heayweight Title fight, whereas Couture/Lesnar is the money match, winner becoming #1 contender. Right now, Brock doesn't deserve at title shot, UFC knows that and gave him Couture, because there's no way you can say he doesn't deserve at title shot if he takes out Randy.
  7. Back to Eli as usual it looked like. Redskins looked terrible, Colt Brennan is almost definately going to be the future of the Redskins if they're smart enough to put him in. Campbell seems to be about on the same level as Tarvaris Jackson, average QB with above average athleticism.
  8. On what basis, exactly? My thinking is that Brock can basically smother Randy the way he did Herring...it's up to Randy to use his veteran savvy to take advantage of a mistake Brock makes, which could come in any round. I don't see Brock winning by KO at all...either Brock wins by decision, or Randy wins by submission. Because Brock Lesnar has had 3 professional fights and he's facing Randy Couture. Brock's gone past round 1 once and that was in a fight he was in complete control of. There's no guarentee he's even got the stamina to go 5 rounds, especially in a fight which he won't be in complete control. Why is that? Because Couture knows how to handle larger opponents, whereas Brock has very little experience against smaller opponents. I really can't see this fight going 5 rounds without Randy coming out the winner. Brock will have to knock him out and do it early.
  9. He, like most people, was assigned players. You, Damshow and Y2J were the only guys with lists I had.
  10. Your final 5 rounds. Everyone got 2 Ks and then other players based on need or strength of position. Some got QBs, some got WRs yada yada. Drop whoever you don't want and feel free to pick up whoever you do. If you left recent lists, you got those players if they were available DMN was retroactively given Tampa's D instead of Arizona, as I missed that they were available when giving him the highest ranked D. 10. DeAngelo Williams 9. Arizona D 8. San Francisco D 7. Nick Folk 6. Ben Utecht 5. Reggie Brown 4. Ray Rice 3. Tim Hightower 2. Chester Taylor 1. Ahman Green 1. Shayne Graham 2. Stephen Gostkowski 3. Nate Kaeding 4. Adam Vinateri 5. Robbie Gould 6. Mason Crosby 7. Randy McMichael 8. Phil Dawson 9. Josh Brown 10. Jeff Reed 10. Rob Bironas 9. Lawrence Tynes 8. Josh Scobee 7. Neil Rackers 6. Matt Stover 5. Kris Brown 4. Rian Longwell 3. Joe Nedney 2. Jason Hanson 1. Shawn Suisham 1. DJ Hackett 2. Issac Bruce 3. LJ Smith 4. Vincent Jackson 5. JaMarcus Russell 6. Kurt Warner 7. Reggie Williams 8. Felix Jones 9. Ahmad Bradshaw 10. Derrick Mason 10. Jon Kitna 9. Jeff Garcia 8. Matt Schaub 7. Vince Young 6. Jerious Norwood 5. Leon Washington 4. Nate Burleson 3. Oakland D 2. Trent Edwards 1. Tarvaris Jackson There, everyone has 18 players and the league is officially running. If you've got Giants or Redskins, get your team set tonight.
  11. I'll finish off the draft, and everyone will get 2 Ks, a QB, RB, WR, unless they are missing a back up DEF or TE. Send in preferences if you have them
  12. How much earlier? Everyone can send me 5 players and I'll try to get them on your team
  13. Well, look at that. Spike became the Master.
  14. Dragsy selects Todd Heap, TE, Baltimore Tuna selects Donald Lee, TE, Packers Clawson selects Javon Walker, WR, Raiders This is the end of the draft. Free agency will begin tonight around 6 PM EST. You should have 5 spots left to fill, which you can do then. Keep in mind, none of you have kickers. Teams should be set by tonight if you have players from the Giants or Redskins.
  15. If Brock doesn't knock him out in the first round, Couture is taking it.
  16. Yeah since like none of you are really invested in this anymore at this point, I'm going to go ahead and end the draft at the end of this round. Teams will be set up by the 3rd, free agency opening then. Expect PMs about it. If I don't have picks in by the midnight tomorrow (EST) I'm auto assigning and finishing off the round
  17. Jonny selects Denver Broncos Defense Maxx selects Chris Perry, RB, Cincinatti
  18. Poor LL and his high draft pick.
  19. Well, DMN wants me to pick for him and he needs another D So odd as this may be, I'm giving him the 13th best defense, according to ESPN the Mag. DMN selects Arizona Cardinals Defense
  20. LL selects: Justin Fargas, RB, Oakland Greg Olsen, TE, Chicago Damshow selects: Kevin Faulk, RB, New England
  21. We don't pick a special teams team, we pick a kicker. Kick returns have nothing to do with defense. Its standard Yahoo FF scoring to give return TD points to whatever player gets them. We knew this last year and Hester went about the same round. Same thing happened with Dante Hall a few years ago. You're seriously making way too big a deal out of this. The dude had 6 TDs off of returns last year., 2 recieving TDs. You can't honestly tell me you'd throw him in a starting WR spot, when all he'll get you is maybe 7 points a game. He was picked right around where he should have been. Scoring stats are right there on the league page, if you had a question, you should have asked, as again I've done it like this for the past 4 years and we've never had a problem with it.
  22. Damshow selects Ben Watson, TE, New England One more pick till the end of the 12th. Three more rounds people, send your picks and lets get this done. Or go the Clawsn route and hand over all picking duties
  23. Return TDs are scored to the player and not the defense, because its technically the special teams unit that does it, not the defense.
  24. See there's the problem with the rampant speculation. To alot of people its become completely unbelievable that "Mr. Reese" could just be his name. Thats a pretty sad state for it to be in, considering it's basically just a rumor started by fanboys, who are now clutching to it like its the gospel, acting like its a hint on the level of The Joker one at the end of Begins, which Nolan didn't even come up with. Its is completely possible that the "Mr. Reese" name is just his name. As I've said before, if you're pronouncing it like it was said in the movie, you only get to the word mysteries if you purposely mispronounce it. That kind of takes away from its credibility right there. Th e only "hint" that The Riddler could pop up in the third film is the mispronounciation of a minor character's name? Forgive me for not buying into it. Again, this is film 3 years away, the first draft hasn't even been written yet. Doubt that? Nolan and Co. haven't signed on to do a third, which means they haven't gotten paid, so I highly doubt they've started writing anything. We like to assume their all uber Bat fans and doing it for the love of the genre, but you're kidding yourself if you think they'll start work on the next film without getting paid first.
  25. Fucking Thank You. Thats what I've been trying to say. I'm fine with speculating, but when it gets to a point where you just start completely ignoring the holes people are poking in your theory, that goes beyond speculation. I like reading what you all come up with and discussing what could work and what couldn't work. For a marvelous few weeks we'd moved past the whole "Mr. Reese" reach, but now its up again and people are just blindly chirping away at it. If you bring it up, back it up. No one who's mentioned Coleman Reese turning into The Riddler has responded at all to any of my criticisms. Be it using a C lister in a starring role, the way the character has already been established or the way the character works in the comics. Yes I know Jarius is saying he won't be in a starring role, it still doesn't explain why a guy who Batman saved from being killed by a psychopath would suddenly want to start harming him. Or why a criminal in gotham city, obsessed with riddles, would start out knowing the answer to the question of "Who is Batman" arguably the greatest riddle of all. Main villian or not, those motivations don't make any sense. It doesn't add up, it wouldn't make sense, thats why I'm saying its not happening. I'm not just sitting here saying its fucking stupid, I'm also backing up why I think its fucking stupid. I'm doing it in a condescending and belittling way, but I'm still doing it and I'll probably drop the dick attitude if someone would actually respond to my criticisms instead of just blathering on and on, because that only makes "Mr. Reese" look like more of a complete and total reach. And Hulk was alright, better than the last one. I'd expect the DVD in October. TDK for Christmas is almost a lock.
