  1. If you can get a few people together, the family membership is quite appealing. You can also get a bit of discount if you have a regular active subscription. On another subject, XCOM 2 is £3.99 on the eShop right now. The Switch may not be the best platform for it in terms of performance, but that's a great price.
  2. More Mario Kart content sounds good. Included with the Online Expansion Pack as well. Very nice indeed.
  3. Kirby looks fun. MLB The Show looks as if it's running at a low frame rate. Klonoa is a blast from the past. Portal and (not) Wii Sports. They're bringing out the stuff from over ten years ago and I like it.
  4. Holy hell. Fire Emblem. Oh, it looks like one of those Dynasty Warriors things. Mario Strikers. I thought there would be one of those sooner or later. The Chrono Cross remaster has finally been revealed.
  5. I hope the story is good. The gameplay seems ideal for me, but a dull narrative structure would take the shine off a bit.
  6. There's a 40-minute Nintendo Direct tomorrow.
  7. I'd have guessed that they would have qualified automatically for a World Cup, though, as there's no precedent for a host nation not being given a spot at that tournament. Perhaps you're right about the Euros, though.
  8. I'd say 5 teams out of 24 is still a high percentage of automatic qualifiers. For the World Cup, it would be 5 out of 16 European qualifiers, which is worse.
  9. If they're all going to be given automatic qualification, five host nations for the Euros or World Cup doesn't seem reasonable. After Euro 2020, I wouldn't want another tournament in England until the fan culture changes significantly.
  10. I'll be interested to see how many Boreham Wood fans travel to Everton. It's far from unheard of for their home fans to be outnumbered by away fans at their own ground.
  11. Now they get an away tie with Everton. Good for them.

    Skyrim beat them to it.

I wonder how Dan Houser's departure will affect the next game. He was the lead writer for most of Rockstar's games. On the one hand, the writing in GTA games has always tended to be crass and obnoxious, but the Red Dead games were a lot better in that regard.
  14. Quite a few lower league clubs struggle to get five subs on the bench anyway.

    GTA VI

The next-gen version of GTA V is coming on 15th March. It will have ray-tracing options, presumably at 30fps, and a 60fps performance mode. I wouldn't expect the upgrade to be free or even discounted.
  16. The Six Nations is back tomorrow. I think France will be the team to beat, but this could be a high-quality competition if recent form of the other nations carries over. I wouldn't be surprised to see any team except Italy make the top two.

    WWE 2K23

I was reading about all the different special editions of this game. The most expensive ones have boosters for the career mode, which is a major sign that it will be a grindy slog designed to tempt players into buying in-game currency. Being a 2K game, it shouldn't be a surprise.

    Well, the ring looks OK.
  19. Any time a publisher announces a release date that's several months away, there's a good chance it will be delayed.

The very first thing you see is "In-game purchase (includes random items)". Sod off with that.
  21. I think the conversation went something like this: "Incoming!" "Oh, dear!" "Oops!" "You'll regret that!"
  22. They originally announced it without telling any of their partners and most of their team members. It was supposed to be an "eco-friendly" NFT scheme that sent some of its proceeds to a scheme called the Refeed Farms project. What would be more eco-friendly would be to not do it at all.
