  1. I've never been part of the Final Fantasy fanbase, so that trailer didn't mean much to me. I find it interesting that there are series fans who haven't liked any of the numbered games for the last twenty years, but still get giddy with excitement over the next one.
  2. I think it said it was the top two tiers, so everything except the basic plan.
  3. About 95% of that Street Fighter trailer was unnecessary.
  4. Resident Evil 4 doesn't need a remake, but the graphics on this one are fancy.
  5. Square apparently has a full FF16 trailer ready to show, so it won't be long now. They said they'll show something for 7 Remake at some point this year too. For today, you'd think that 16 is the more likely of the two.
  6. For those who didn't know, this is happening later today. It's going to last about 30 minutes and will show some PSVR2 games and third-party titles. While it's not a full blowout, it's officially part of Geoff Keighley's Summer GameFest not E3 thing.
  7. I thought England had already taken the "ultimate heel" label.
  8. That's like something out of a Total War game. Terrible scenes.
  9. I have to wonder what will happen next season. Davis, Zinckernagel, Spence, Garner and Lowe have all been key players this season, but they're all loanees. You'd think they'd want to keep at least a couple of them. I understand Spence has some big clubs looking at him. It's so strange that Middlesbrough considered him disposable enough to loan out.
  10. Fantastic. I'm a Notts County fan first, but I've been to several Forest matches in my life and think of them as a second team. This was a team with one point from their first seven games under Chris Hughton, and now they've been promoted. Steve Cooper deserves a heck of a lot of credit.
  11. Not going up this season has to be massively disappointing for Wrexham. They've spent huge amounts for a National League side.
  12. I think Liverpool might have got away with it there.
  13. That would have been a messy goal to concede.
  14. I'd like to see Max's face now.
  15. Ian Burchnall has left Notts County to become Forest Green's new manager. Strangely, it's the second time in recent years that Notts have had their manager poached by Forest Green. I'm not sure how I feel about it. Burchnall seems like an intelligent coach who's committed to encouraging positive technical football, but he ultimately left Notts in more or less the same place they were when he joined. He never managed to sort out the team's long-standing problems with defending set-pieces and didn't seem to give them more fighting spirit. I wonder if the techniques he tried to employ might have been too complicated for National League players to implement. Perhaps he might be able to get more out of a League One team.
  16. Have you definitely checked your Microsoft account balance?
  17. Microsoft does that from time to time with randomly selected accounts. I've never got one myself, but plenty of other people have.
  18. While winning the US Open was a great achievement, I think she benefited a bit from the fact that it's a tournament near the end of the year, when the established players are typically more tired. There had been four women who won their only Grand Slam at the US Open in the ten years before Raducanu's victory, so it's a tournament that's more likely to throw out surprises than the other Slams. The draw also opened up quite nicely for her. She didn't face any of the top ten seeds. She's yet to beat a top ten player in any tournament. That's certainly not to say that she didn't deserve to win the tournament, because she did. However, I would say that she's still a level behind the very best players on the tour right now. I agree with this. I think the criticism has mostly come from people who don't really follow tennis and just like to bring people down. There's also John McEnroe, who seems to have a scathing opinion of everyone.
  19. The lack of ranking points is unfortunate, but it's still a tournament with a lot of prize money. Just being in the first round was worth £48,000 last year.
  20. I don't think stacking PS Now is a problem because that automatically upgrades to the top tier. It's the Plus upgraders who will have an issue.
  21. It seems to be a thing that shows do right now. Maybe they've decided that it's good for generating more hype.
  22. It's possible that they'll change it for the launches in other territories, but I wouldn't count on it.
  23. The new PS Plus service has launched in Asia, and it's sounding like a PR disaster. Existing Plus subscribers get no discount when upgrading, with stacked memberships requiring the full price to move to other tiers. In practice, this means that you'd either have to stick with the basic Plus plan for the duration of your subscription or pay the full amount for another tier, essentially meaning that you're paying twice. Furthermore, if you want to upgrade, you have to pay for as much of the new membership as you have left on your old one. For example, if you have two years left on your previous Plus subscription, you would have to pay for two years of Plus Premium as well. There's no way to convert from, say a year of standard Plus to eight months of Premium. If that weren't enough, if you previously bought a Plus subscription from the Playstation Store at a promotional discount, that gets wiped out. Therefore, even if you paid for a year of Plus at 25% off, that saving won't carry over to the new system. There are also only 269 games available on the service right now, a far cry from the 700+ Sony has promised.
