    GTA VI

I'm sure the gamer™ reaction to this news will be calm and restrained.
  2. Maybe they should pick a nation at random to host it every year. It would be a bit like jury duty.
  3. Next year's Eurovision will take place in the UK. I hope they let Ukrainian presenters host it. It ought to be a Ukrainian-centric event that just happens to be in the UK.
  4. It looks as though Jesse Lingard will be going to Forest.
  5. After playing the first two chapters of As Dusk Falls, I can give it a recommendation. It's nice to see a decision-based game that actually respects my time. If you click on something to interact with, you don't have to wait for your character to slowly trudge towards it. It just goes straight to the corresponding screen. There's no walking around and clicking on a character to hear them spout the same line of dialogue. People just say things when it's part of the story. Cutting out the superfluous efforts to mimic "normal" games is something all of these games should be doing. As far as the writing goes, I'd give it the rather tainted "good for a game" distinction. You're never going to mistake it for an Emmy-winning drama, but it's definitely better than anything Dontnod or Quantic Dream have ever put out.
  6. I still can't believe Middlesbrough let Djed Spence go out on loan last season.
  7. As Dusk Falls is apparently quite good. It's a decision-based game that doesn't bother with token puzzles and ambling around, instead just working like an interactive film. It's out tomorrow and will be on Game Pass.
  8. I do like the look of it, but it's quite pricy. A sequel was announced a few days ago as well.
  9. It turns out that Zakk Wylde will be joining them after all. Charlie Benante from Anthrax will be the drummer.
  10. I didn't have a PS2 until I got one for £10 well into the following console generation, so it was a long time before I got to play the Smackdown games fully. My brother's friend used to let me use his PS2 for a few minutes sometimes, which was perfect for Just Bring It's story mode. While I understand a lot of people were disappointed with how insubstantial it was, it was ideal for quick sessions.
  11. Hands up if you're interested in the new Skate game EA's publishing. Well, think again because it's officially going to be a free-to-play live service game funded by microtransactions.
  12. It's quite hard to be excited about this. Dimebag and Vinnie Paul are gone and Phil Anselmo is quite possibly a white supremacist.
  13. Apparently, it was partly down to the negative reaction the most recent remasters received. Perhaps giving the slightest toss about quality control might have helped there.
  14. I really thought he'd wait a few months before a Championship club (or Everton) had a vacancy. I think this is a more interesting outcome.
  15. As no ranking points are being awarded at Wimbledon this year, Djokovic, who won the tournament, will fall behind Casper Ruud, who lost in the second round.
  16. And went to university in the USA.
  17. Expect to see Djokovic's miraculous form-changing injury timeout soon.
  18. Not a bad start for Norrie. I can't see it continuing.
  19. A Djokovic/Kyrgios final would be a depressing prospect. I'd say Djokovic would beat Norrie nine out of ten times, so I'm going to hope that tomorrow will be the 10% in Norrie's favour.
  20. He's ended up winning it. It's amazing how, after several serious injuries, at the age of 36 and 17 years after his first Grand Slam victory, he still has the stamina to pull it out of the bag in a Grand Slam semi-final. I hope he stuffs Krygios next. On another note, I'm glad they aren't doing the old fifth set tiebreak rules now. The "new" system just gets it done quickly without sacrificing drama.
  21. Nadal seems to be struggling with an injury. If he doesn't shake it off, they might as well just give Djokovic the trophy now.
  22. Norrie has edged through. Britain has now had five different representatives in Grand Slam semi-finals since 2016. That somehow doesn't seem possible.
