  1. I think that's a good point. It should be like having a second pre-season. They were given a bit less time to prepare for the season anyway, given that they had to go through the playoffs, and losing five key loanees was always going to leave a skeleton squad. They overcorrected in that regard and now need to work out how a team of strangers can work cohesively.
  2. The biggest concern for me is that they look worse now than they did in the first few matches. Newcastle were all over them on the opening day, but Forest at least defended stubbornly and looked difficult to break down. Then they beat West Ham and drew at Everton before having some promising moments at home to Spurs. Since Man City dominated them in the next game, they've not looked good at all. Against Bournemouth, Fulham and Leicester, they've fallen apart and conceded several goals in short periods of time. It's a worrying trend and it's highlighted to me that, for all the signings, they really need better central defenders. Cook, McKenna and Worrall were key players in last season's promotion campaign, but they aren't up to Premier League standards.
  3. I hope it pays off. It would be a good sign in today's age of trigger-happy club owners. If Forest go down, as I suspect they will, Cooper should be a good manager to give them a chance of challenging to get promoted again.
  4. I thought the darkness was at least a little more tolerable than in The Long Night because the scenes were slow enough for you to work out who was who and what was going on. In The Long Night, it was a lot harder to follow. The occasional dark, murky shot to show the chaos of battle might work, but doing it for a whole episode was too much. I hope it's something they drop as the show continues.
  5. Top of the league now. I shall savour this moment because I think Wrexham will ultimately pull away with the quality they have.
  6. At this point, we should be on Team Helaena.
  7. I don't know if it's something specific to Miguel Sapochnik or just a coincidence, but his episodes do seem to be particularly dark.
  8. There are mayflies older than Horizon Zero Dawn.
  9. Is Haaland the best striker in the world at the moment? Lewandowski is scoring for fun in La Liga as well, but Haaland seems to on an even higher level right now.
  10. Notts were going to be top of the league until Wrexham scored two late goals today. They've been getting a lot of late victories lately. The two sides play at Meadow Lane on Tuesday night, which should be big.
  11. I can imagine that model being used at some point in the future. They could incentivise regular buyers to subscribe with a few extra Ultimate Team cards or something. I could also see them selling "core" versions of the games at a lower price, but with only a few starter leagues and competitions, and all the others being sold separately. Then they'd all be included in the subscription price to further encourage people to sign up. I don't actually like the idea, but I'm trying to think like an evil corporation would.
  12. I see that the FIFA 22 thread only has three pages, so maybe it would be best to just update that one to be a general home for FIFA discussion. As a more general thought, I'm surprised more annual sports games haven't gone down the annual subscription route yet.
  13. More in-depth international management and more statistical information (top ten all-time goalscorers and suchlike) are the two main things I've been wanting for a long time.
  14. AFC Fylde's manager, James Rowe, has been charged with sexual assault. He has resigned from his post.
  15. Another year, another set of Youtubers with thumbnails that make them look like they've just been kicked in the knackers.
  16. From what I can tell, the AI is quite easy to exploit because the enemies don't tend to flank you. Hiding and shooting them one-by-one is a possible tactic. Having put a bit of time into Deathloop over the last week, I'm in the strange situation in which I like what I've done so far, but also don't really feel like playing more. I might just explore the areas and kill the targets without trying to do it all in one loop. I'm not sure I'm really into the game enough to do that. I read good things about Prodeus a couple of days ago. It definitely ought to appeal to Doom fans, combining fast-paced movement and powerful guns.
  17. I predict that England will not win more than one group game at the World Cup.
  18. Like Hamilton and Schumacher, he has a career haul of seven. In his case, it's points, not championships.
  19. If you put all four players at their peak, I think Murray was only slightly behind the others. Unfortunately, that was the decisive factor in the difference between their title hauls. There have been brief stretches of time when Murray was the best player in the world, which, given the competition, is a great achievement. He's beaten the other three players more than once each in Grand Slams as well.
  20. I think it uses touchscreen controls. I'd prefer keyboard and mouse myself, but I have heard that it works well enough.
  21. I've read that it works as well now as it's likely to. There's an expansion coming next year, which has led to an increase in sales figures. I haven't really heard anything especially great about it, though. "Pretty good" seems to be the general consensus.
