  1. Technically, Xbox doesn't really have proper exclusive now because Microsoft's first-party games come out on PC as well. If you're looking at games that aren't on Playstation and Nintendo systems, I'd recommend: Rare Replay (collection of 30 historic Rare games - there's bound to be something you like in there) Gears Tactics (basically XCOM in the Gears of War universe) Microsoft Flight Simulator (self-explanatory) Pentiment (stylish adventure game set in 16th century Germany) Forza Horizon series (open world racing) As Dusk Falls (choose-your-own-adventure) Grounded (twee survival action) All first-party games come to Game Pass on day one, and pretty much all Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Xbox One exclusives are on there too.
  2. The long rumoured Dunk and Egg series has been confirmed for the new Max platform. GRRM will be an executive producer and one of the writers because he clearly has nothing else he needs to do.
  3. I'd prefer it if he just stayed at Dortmund.
  4. Final Fantasy 16 will get a twenty-minute gameplay showcase tomorrow.
  5. Scunthorpe's relegation from the National League was confirmed on Monday. This time thirteen years ago, they were in the same division as Newcastle. Next season, they will be playing South Shields, Banbury and Spennymoor.
  6. I suppose it depends on whether or not you plan to go for the Series X at some point. The Series S only plays digital versions of games, so you won't be able to use any discs for backwards compatible games. As a Game Pass machine, it's well regarded, especially at the price.
  7. He was. He also claimed that he was being considered for the Liverpool job before Benitez got it.
  8. From what I can gather, he was holding out for a big job after he left West Ham, but nothing came along that he considered worth going for. The longer he was out of the game, the less appealing he probably became to potential employers. His managerial record, albeit with only two clubs, was actually very good. He took Charlton to the Premier League and kept them there for several years, a status they're miles off now. He also saved West Ham from relegation before guiding them to a top-half finish the following season.
  9. I remember when he also said that he could have done just as well as Solskjaer initially did at Man United.
  10. Reading have sacked Paul Ince. It's amazing how many jobs he's had off the back of one decent season at MK Dons.
  11. That's an absolute cash bonanza. Someone else's mistake has earned him more money than he was ever going to make in his career otherwise.
  12. I think Notts being at League One level is a big stretch. Macaulay Langstaff's goals have made a big difference, but this is still largely the same squad that came fifth last season. Take out Langstaff and Rodrigues and they're a lot less dangerous.
  13. Capcom has added microtransactions to the Resident Evil 4 remake's new Mercenaries mode. I have no doubt that the decision to wait until shortly after all the positive reviews came in is completely by design.
  14. It's why you really don't want to get relegated from League Two. The best few teams in the National League are almost always stronger than the worst few teams in League Two, but having only two promoted teams means that some decent sides can spend ages trying to get out. It was even more difficult in the days of only one promotion place.
  15. A few Wrexham fans were singing, "Jason's in a box," in reference to the recent death of Notts CEO Jason Turner. It's a shame that that sort of thing can tarnish a fun match. While I didn't like seeing Notts lose, it was an unexpected opportunity anyway. Wrexham's current squad ought to be contending for League Two promotion, let alone National League. The playoffs are going to be nerve-wracking because that's the stage Notts have fallen during the last three seasons.
  16. How ever will people avoid accidentally buying Pokemon cards instead of energy drink now?
  17. I should have said it was "another" young English manager.
  18. It looks as though Sheffield United will join them. Unless something changes, that will be a young English manager in the Premier League, which is a good thing.
  19. I read that PSVR 2 uses eye-tracking and blurs out areas of the screen you aren't looking at to save on graphical demands. In theory, that should both boost visual fidelity and combat motion sickness. Unfortunately, the headset is more expensive than the PS5 itself, which is very much the state of affair for VR in general. At the moment, VR caters predominantly to a small number of enthusiasts because of the price and technical demands. Unless companies make significant strides towards making them more comfortable and easier to use, there's always going to be a barrier stopping it from becoming mainstream. The Meta Quest is a good start. It's wireless and thus the easiest big-name set to use, as well as being a bit cheaper than its competitors. Still, it's a big, clunky piece of kit that most people aren't going to want to wear for long periods of time. Ideally, they would hold off on major graphical improvements and keep making smaller and lighter headsets, but that doesn't seem to be in their plans.
  20. Wrexham's defeat today makes Monday's showdown spicier. If I didn't know better, I'd say that they were engineering an exciting finale for the next documentary. Honestly, I don't see Notts beating them away from home, but it makes me happy that they're still in contention against a club that could probably push for League Two promotion already.
  21. I always thought Group E culture was outdated and sexist.
  22. I think that if you're willing to pre-order something way before any significant information is released, you probably deserve what you get.
  23. Eddie Howe deserves a lot of credit. Newcastle are challenging for Champions League football and they haven't even brought in especially high-profile players yet.
  24. According to Variety, HBO is considering making a series focusing on Aegon's conquest. It's not surprising as, like with House of the Dragon, the whole plot is already laid out. It would surely have to be years away, though. I'm hoping they don't feel as though they absolutely have to have dragons in all their Game of Thrones spinoffs. Obviously, this particular one has to have them, but I think they could get a lot of mileage out of a series on the life of Aerys II. That wouldn't have any dragons, direwolves or White Walkers, which I'd prefer. And yes, I do realise how odd it is that the fantasy elements are my least favourite part of a fantasy story.
