  1. Looks decent to me. Thanks for that.
  2. I should probably make one of those lists, if only to sort out which bands I might have to miss due to clashes. Speaking of clashes, the stage times are now on the line-up page on the main website, so the real planning can now begin.
  3. HD remakes of Metal Gear Solid 2, 3 and Peace Walker have now been announced for the PS3 and Xbox 360, along with Zone of the Enders 1 and 2. Silent Hill 2 and 3 will also be given the HD treatment, although the platforms have not been confirmed yet.
  4. An Xbox 360 version of the game will be released on 15th November 2011, as confirmed at a CD Projekt conference earlier today.
  5. Collapse, Dave McPherson, Intraverse, The Last Republic, Never Means Maybe, Sons of Icarus, Trucker Diablo and Welcome Wednesday have also been added. On top of that, the stage times should be announced next Monday, according to Andy Copping.
  6. Ico is getting an HD re-release on the PS3, alongside Shadow of the Colossus.
  7. A press release issued earlier today has confirmed that Panic Button and Majesco will team up to bring out a new Kinect-based Xbox 360 game entitled "Hulk Hogan's Main Event". Few concrete details have been released, but the press release states thatthe game "lets players train with mentor Hulk Hogan as they build their own wrestling personalities and learn the art of showmanship to win over the crowd." Press Release And who said that Kinect didn't cater for the hardcore crowd?
  8. He was also quoted as saying that those buying the game ought to be paying even more, and that they should be grateful for the current state of affairs.
  9. I find games that don't have solid checkpoint systems annoying. I'm mainly talking about the Grand Theft Auto games, in which, upon failing a mission, you have to drive halfway across the city just to restart the mission. Thankfully, Red Dead Redemption had a better checkpoint system, so I'm hopeful that the next GTA instalment will follow suit.
  10. I hope they actually fight this time.
  11. That would be good if we could work something out, but bear in mind that I'm one of those curious folk who doesn't drink alcohol.

Very good episode. Prominent roles for Cartman, Randy and Butters always make for great entertainment.
  13. I'm definitely looking forward to Boss Hoss and Rock Sugar as well. In fact, Saturday's second stage looks great to me, especially Twisted Sister, who I have wanted to see for a long time. It's just a shame that Alice Cooper is clashing with System of a Down as I'd have loved to see both of their sets in full. At the moment, I'm planning to catch a bit of both, although those plans don't always end up working as well in reality as they do in theory. I'll probably be spending most of my time on the second stage on the Sunday as well. Rob Zombie's supposed to be playing a hugely elaborate show that will be professionally recorded, so, even though I'm not a die-hard fan of his, that's certain to be worth seeing.
  14. Andy Copping has announced that Skindred will be playing on the acoustic stage at some point during the weekend.
  15. If Star Wars: The Old Republic is reasonably successful, I can definitely see Bioware looking into the possibility of a Mass Effect MMO. Even if they don't, I can definitely see the series continuing long after this particular trilogy ends. Perhaps the next step would be to start a new story arc with a non-human main character, or perhaps they could lift the concept of the "origins" stories for the different races and classes from the first Dragon Age. I'c certainly like to see how things would work out by playing as a Krogan having to go through all the rites of passage on Tuchanka, or maybe a Quarian having to deal with wearing a suit to avoid the contraction of illnesses. There's simply too much potential to abandon the franchise after the third game.
  16. Given the fans' respect for him, it would have been difficult for them not to offer him the job on a permanent basis. I'll be interested to see how he does after a full summer of preparation and what looks likely to be a better transfer budget than Hodgson got last year. Once this season is over, the honeymoon period will surely be over and the real test will start for Dalglish. I'm no Liverpool fan, but I still hope he copes well with the raised expectations.

    South Park

I have read quite a few negative reviews of this week's episode, but I enjoyed it. It was always likely that some sort of Bin Laden reference would be made, along with the Royal Wedding and I'm actually glad that they didn't centre an entire episode around either of them. What I felt we got in the end was a reasonably amusing, well-balanced episode that kept its admittedly steady momentum going throughout, without ever being spectacular.
  18. Will this patch be focused totally on the addition of hotseat multiplayer or will there be further tweaks to the single-player game?
  19. Your list looks a lot like mine. I'm getting fairly anxious to see the final setlist times so that I can confirm the inevitable clashes.
  20. I get that feeling too. I have a male and a female Shepard that I have used for all my playthroughs on both games, and seeing footage of different versions seems almost unnatural. That's what I feel character customisation should be all about. Rather than being completely bombarded with the most intricate, in-depth appearance customisation tools known to man, I feel as though the decisions I've made over the course of the two games has truly allowed me to become attached to my Shepards, more so than in any other game.
  21. In case anyone hasn't yet heard, some rumours have been swirling around over the last couple of weeks regarding a new Nintendo console. Nintendo Japan has now confirmed that the rumours are true, mentioning 2012 as the target release date. No other official details have been released, but many of the rumours suggest that it could have graphical and processing power comparable to or greater than that of the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, along with full backwards compatibility for Wii games. Some sort of touch-screen feature has also cropped up during speculation among gaming sites. Here is the source: http://uk.wii.ign.com/articles/116/1163764p1.html
  22. The thing that struck me most about that image is the fact that 86% of the fans didn't want him in the first team. In real life, he's been Forest's best player by a significant margin this season.
  23. As expected, The Darkness have been announced as Friday's sub-headliners. Funeral for a Friend, The Plain White T's, Kvelertak, Framing Hanley and Hyro Da Hero have also been added to the lineup.
  24. I believe that the situation with Portsmouth was such that they would have missed out on a European place even if they had won the FA Cup. It was something to do with the fact that the club didn't apply for a UEFA club licence during their period in administration.
  25. Panther won't be at Download - maybe next year though. Oh, and eFestivals is bollocks and takes its rumours from DL's forums (whether they are actually rumours or just BS, they don't discriminate). This is true. eFestivals also has Soundgarden down as a strong rumour, despite there being no evidence that they'll tour outside America at all this year. Generally, the same bands (Metallica, Van Halen, Iron Maiden, Rammstein etc.) appear on the site under the "Strongly Rumoured" category as early as around October, only to be removed later when it becomes clear that there was no substance to the rumours at all. It's actually quite a shame as it used to be a reasonably reliable site three or four years ago.
