  1. The Steam Summer/Winter Sale, depending on where you live, has started. Steam Decks are discounted, with 20% off the most expensive model.
  2. Wasn't 2K Battlegrounds the call back to All Stars?
  3. Judging by this video, it runs well enough.
  4. To clarify, those new features, aside from the backwards compatibility for saves, are to be introduced in FM25, not 24. The idea is that 24 will be the final, and most feature complete, version of FM as we currently know it.
  5. It just doesn't look like something that would hold my attention for very long after the novelty of all the gimmicks wears off. For the price they're asking for the game, there's no way I can justify a purchase.
  6. Roy Hodgson is staying on as Palace manager. I'm convinced he's in a battle of endurance with Neil Warnock.
  7. Good to see Morgan Gibbs-White setting up both goals.
  8. It certainly helps developers distance themselves from their own shortcomings. "It would have been great if only you plebs supported it" is a better look for them than "We didn't make a very good game". You see it a lot with early access games. Buying a game on the basis that it might have some interesting content one day is taking a risk with your money. For me, a game is only worth buying if what if offers there and then is enough to have fun with. If more is added later, great. That's not a comment specific to this game because I haven't closely followed its development. Hopefully, it will be a nice alternative to the other wrestling games on the market, but I'm also not putting down £60 before any thorough reviews are out.
  9. Super Mario Wonder is coming out on the same day as Spiderman 2. That's going to be a big day for retailers. October also has Detective Pikachu Returns, Forza Motorsport, Assassin's Creed Mirage and Alan Wake 2, not to mention the Metal Gear Solid remasters and Cities Skylines 2. If you're someone who buys lots of big games at launch, you're going to be very busy and a lot poorer.
  10. The most common complaint I've seen is that the side quests are boring. VII Remake had that problem at times as well, but it didn't destroy the experience.
  11. I thought that was a very fine Direct.
  12. Hudson-Odoi is wanted by a couple of clubs in Saudi Arabia, according to Romano.
  13. There will be a Nintendo Direct tomorrow at 3pm BST/7am PST. It will be around forty minutes long, with the only confirmed inclusion so far being Pikmin 4.
  14. You're probably thinking of Chart Wars. There's a spiritual successor called Road 2 Success, which is also free.
  15. It might be faint praise, but this England team is better than any I can remember. While you could argue that Eriksson's squads had better players overall, this one plays a much more entertaining style of football.
  16. Hulkenberg has been given a three-place grid penalty.
  17. Three wins out of three is excellent for Scotland. Even if they don't finish in the top two, they'll have a guaranteed playoff spot, so it's looking good. For Norway, on the other hand, one point in three games is disastrous.
  18. I'm glad they put out a demo, just like they did with VII Remake and their recent Switch games. Square Enix might be a bunch of sods when it comes to the continued backing of NFTs, but letting people try games before buying them is a good move. I really wish more companies would release free demos before their games come out. I understand that the time it takes to program in accurate parameters that can't be bypassed in an open world game might be better spent elsewhere, but in a purely chapter/level-based game, it should be easy. It's both a sign of confidence in the product and a potential way of enticing in those who might not have previously given it a look.
  19. Speaking of deals, Game Pass subscribers can get an upgrade to Starfield's Premium Edition for £16.93 on the Icelandic Xbox Store, with no need for a VPN. That gets you the Shattered Space expansion when it releases, plus access to the main game five days early. I don't know how worthwhile that is, but it's still half the price it is on the UK Microsoft Store.
  20. Subscription cards are typically cheaper at places like CDKeys than on the Microsoft Store. I also get the occasional top-up through Microsoft Rewards.
  21. It affects how smooth the on-screen movement is. On the new consoles, most games let you choose between performance and graphical quality, so you could change those settings to try out how different the two feel. I'll always go for 60fps over sharper graphics, but it's not as if I'll steadfastly refuse to play a game at 30fps. It's a shame that some recent games (Gotham Knights, A Plague Tale: Requiem and Redfall) haven't offered the choice.
  22. It's available now. I'll be interested to see what people think.
