  1. These posts articulate my feelings about rock from this era very well. There's not a lot from those few years that does much for me at all.
  2. And 30 days of Disney Plus. EDIT: Hold the bloody phone. It's just been announced that Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can play as The New Day in Gears 5.
  3. At least that means that everyone else can hate Derby with me.
  4. Platinum and Power Rangers could be a good match. I'm sure people thought the same way about TMNT, though, and that apparently didn't turn out well.
  5. Does anyone know if there are any plans to bring the new Animaniacs series to the UK? I can't find anything about it and I don't think we can get Hulu here without a bit of skullduggery.
  6. Speaking of songs that end with a long succession of ""la la la la la la la la la", I'm disappointed that Don't You Forget About Me by Simple Minds didn't make the list.
  7. The Hitman reboot series has provided the best unofficial Bond games anyway, so this has good potential. IO did make Kane and Lynch, though, so let's not take anything for granted.
  8. Well, yes. You get a Game Pass subscription, which would normally be more expensive than an Xbox Live subscription. You're saving money.
  9. I know it's the sort of competition people forget about when their team is eliminated, but I like the Nations League. It's more interesting than the one-off friendlies you'd normally get. Having said that, it seems that they're sandwiching in such friendlies as well, which I don't think is a good idea.
  10. Also, if you buy an Xbox Live subscription, I think you can still convert it to Game Pass for £1/$1.
  11. Xbox Live is just the service that lets you play online, whereas Game Pass Ultimate has online play and a big library of games. I imagine that Xbox Live will soon merge with Game Pass and cease to be its own standalone product.
  12. You certainly sound like a football pundit. I've listened to a few minutes and am enjoying it. There's no dead air and the conversation seems to flow well.
  13. The new Yakuza game looks to have really gone all-out with the ridiculousness. I like the other ones because all the zany stuff is done straight-faced, which makes it more endearing. I'm not sure I like the new approach all that much. It feels a bit "too cool for school".
  14. Quite so. You should have won 7-2.
  15. Ray Clemence has died. He was a great goalkeeper in his day.
  16. Just go on the Youtube video and see how many people seem to think it's a rallying cry for Trump against liberal brainwashing. We saw as much when those Trump supporters were recorded dancing to the song recently. I suppose Tom Morello's Fidel Castro t-shirts and "Fuck Trump" message written on his guitar isn't a big enough clue. But anyway, the self-titled Rage Against The Machine album is a really strong debut record. Killing in the Name might be the song everyone knows, but there are several other tracks on there that match it for quality, in my opinion.
  17. Wait for the end. It's a genuine surprise.
  18. I haven't heard anything about it. For me, the biggest problem with international management is the gulf in quality between the top nations and the mid-level ones. In one of my saves, Italy beat Saudi Arabia 20-0 at the World Cup. When the 48-team World Cup starts, double-figure scorelines are a regular occurrence, and it makes it less exciting.
  19. The Yakuza games have a bit of a Kojima-esque mixture of melodrama and ridiculousness. The combat is fairly basic, but it's a lot of fun. The real star of the show is the range of extra side activities, which, unlike most other sandbox games, are mostly enjoyable and have their own mini-stories attached to them.

    FIFA 20

It wouldn't work logistically because they'd have to start reprogramming the physics engine. When players on FIFA are tackled, they fall using standard ragdoll physics and get straight up. In Durst's case, they'd have to find a way to allow his character model to keep rollin', rollin', rollin', rollin'.
  21. The WBC has decided to introduce a weight class between cruiserweight and heavyweight. They're calling it "bridgerweight", which is silly. It's being suggested that Deontay Wilder and Oleksandr Usyk could try out the new division, with Wilder looking less and less likely to get a rematch with Tyson Fury and Usyk wanting to build his way up to a world title fight in the heavyweight division.
  22. Oh, I didn't know that. Apparently, the series was his idea, but he couldn't work on it in the end. I know GRRM is involved in some capacity, so I hope it doesn't suffer from a deviation from the original vision.
  23. That's a fan-made trailer, but it's well done. I don't feel much either way for the series at the moment because it's the sort of thing that has the potential to be superb, but I can also see it being a fancy style-over-substance affair. Bryan Cogman at least seems a little more switched on than Benioff and Weiss, but he was still involved in Game of Thrones when it went downhill. I wonder how much influence he had on the last couple of series beyond writing an episode or two.
  24. I wouldn't care much if graphics never got better than they are now. In the past, better textures and draw distance could mean the difference between distinguishing between key objects and areas, whereas they're just there to make things prettier now. VR is the area in which graphical quality stands to improve the most as even the best games look a if you've lost your contact lenses. The most interesting advances now come from the increase in processing power and hard drive speed. Hopefully, they can be used to make games like this run more quickly and offer more realistic AI behaviour. Mind you, Fire Pro has much better AI than the WWE games on a much smaller budget, so all this technology counts for very little if the developers can't use it properly.
  25. I like the Let's Go games. They cut out a lot of the fluff from the mainline games, which is very welcome if you're not keen on grinding. I'd imagine it's more child-friendly than Sword and Shield.
