  1. I love all the similar flags in Group H. Poland ought to be tough opposition for England, and Hungary could be awkward. The six-team group means that they're against two minnows in Andorra and San Marino, which is mildly interesting. I don't think Scotland could have hoped for a much better draw than that, but they'll still do well to qualify. Open groups like that are always intriguing. I think Wales and Northern Ireland have been unlucky. Italy and Belgium have both been looking good this year, while Switzerland and Czech Republic are two of the toughest sides in their respective pots. In past years, I might have fancied Republic of Ireland to challenge for the playoffs, but they've been really poor lately. I'm not sure how much of that has been down to injuries, mismanagement and a lack of quality, but it'll have to turn around or I can't see them making it. If they can avoid dropping points against Luxembourg and Azerbaijan, which they really should, I suppose they could treat the Serbia games as their cup finals.
  2. The reviews for Cyberpunk 2077 are out. As expected, it seems very much like a game that's better to wait on. There are a lot of "This is good, but..." sentences going around.
  3. Turns out that some of the Disney+ Obi-Wan series might be filming in my local town. First we had Rob Lowe filming an ITV series and now this. We're on the map.
  4. I'm always frustrated when they don't just get on with the draw. It's what everyone watches it for, not musical performances.
  5. What an end to the tournament. Robertson won on the final pink in a last frame after midnight. It's a shame that it happened without a crowd, but needs must, I suppose.
  6. My prediction still stands, albeit with a different member of the Paul family. Mayweather's fortunate that these "influencer" wazzocks are getting into boxing because it opens him up to a whole new world of massive and easy paydays.
  7. How silly it is to think that Perez doesn't have a seat for next year. The politics of racing are annoying.
  8. France have a lot of bright prospects, it seems. They could be the team to beat in next year's Six Nations. It will be interesting to see how far they've developed by the next World Cup.
  9. It's early days, but as a neutral, I'd love it if the Premier League remained this close all season.
  10. I'd be very surprised if Hamilton, Fury and Henderson aren't the top three in some order. I can see Fury getting a fair few votes from the "political correctness gone mad" crowd, at least. Looking back at previous winners, it's interesting that Damon Hill and Nigel Mansell, with one world title apiece, won the award twice each. Lewis Hamilton, having won six world titles before this year, has only won it once. It says a bit about how many more high-profile success stories there have been over the last decade compared with the nineties, as well as perhaps Hamilton's comparative unpopularity.
  11. That was a dramatic match.
  12. When Dominic Raab thinks it's a Game of Thrones reference, I wouldn't expect much else from a government representative.
  13. It's quite telling that none of the official footage so far has been taken from the base PS4 and Xbox One units. I can see a lot of frustrated customers next week.
  14. The funny thing is that FFVII spoiled its most famous moment in the television trailers. They didn't even show any gameplay either. Recently, the game people were going out of their way to reveal spoilers for was The Last of Us Part II. Even then, I don't think I stumbled across anything. Maybe that comes with only having narrow horizons online.
  15. I wonder what the odds were this time last week on George Russell starting on the front row. Good for Jack Aitken too. He outqualified Kimi Raikkonen on his debut.
  16. I imagine we'll hear that at a lot of stadiums, although Millwall will hopefully be the worst offenders. Go to any football match and you'll find plenty of prejudiced people.
  17. Using disasters as "banter" is horrendous. I do think that Heysel gets swept under the carpet a bit in this country, but the people who lost their lives at a football match should be more important than attempts to get one over on another club.
  18. Heysel being on there is rather unpleasant.
  19. In terms of popularity, if you think of Moto GP as F1, World Superbike would be touring cars.
  20. People who've received the game early have reported that there are a lot of bugs. The day one patch is going to be in excess of 40GB.
  21. I'd say it'll be like Deus Ex with a little bit of GTA thrown in. I suppose it could be similar to Fallout in that there's an open world and a lot of side missions.
  22. He's just one of those homophobic twerps with nothing better to do. EDIT: I meant Girvan, not Rea. Rea is a six-time World Superbike Champion. Girvan says that he's the UK's most successful person in motorsport this decade, which is funny when Lewis Hamilton exists.
  23. DUP MP Paul Girvan has complained in Parliament about Jonathan Rea's omission from the shortlist.
  24. I imagine any such fight will be a contrived affair designed to make both fighters look competitive. Mayweather will be happy to dance around for a few rounds in exchange for a payday so that Paul can claim he was on a similar level. Unfortunately, I think the best chance you'd have of seeing Paul taking a beating would be from another Youtube idiot, and even that's probably unlikely. In other knobhead-related news, Billy Joe Saunders fights this weekend against Martin Murray, who's aiming for a world title at the fifth attempt. Saunders wants a fight with Canelo next, so it would be extra satisfying if he somehow lost this one.
  25. When has this award ever really been about personalities or community work? It's always been given to the person with the most highly publicised achievement, except for the time Ryan Giggs got it.
